Abel is Cain's Ghost: his miniature guide and constant companion. Being the only other character fully aware of Cain's plans from the start, Abel frequently converses with Cain and is more compassionate than him, warning Iris' team in advance of Cain's return behind his back. While he supports Cain's quest for revenge, Abel is not as singularly obsessed with vengeance and towards the end of the season implores Cain to consider a less destructive form of retribution. He speaks with a high, measured voice that only very rarely turns spiteful.
