Mike is a self-proclaimed "Demon King". and also Yoriko's staff. She wanted to summon a low-level demon and have them as her servant. Mike was summoned as a prank by Yoriko and her friend, Lilica. A contract was formed between the two of them, and since then Yoroki was unable to part with him.
Mike has a bad habit of literally dragging poor Yoriko around on what amounts to demonic joyrides. It's so bad that virtually every pre-fight quote made by Yoriko is screaming at her opponent to get out of the way, because she can't stop Mike's current rampage.

It is possible that spell could be re-written so that lesser beings could use it, but without the catalyst, such an act would be meaningless.”
