Character Analysis: Meet Jiro Murakami, the Ultimate Surfer. Jiro has been all over the world competing in surfing competitions since he was eight years old. He competed professionally when he turned eleven and has won multiple awards for his hard work and dedication. He was born and raised in Japan but spent most of his time traveling to different countries for the majority of his lifetime. Jiro has a very laid-back kind of attitude, which gets him mistaken for always being high, even though he’s just a very chill person. He always wears a Hawaiian type print shirt and he normally wears sandals.
