CARLOS SAVANT for Thorn
Thorn is an evil rat who is the leader of thieves who prey on the small and weak. always taking for himself and with his crew of mice minions, they leave only ruin and misery. He has caught wind that a ancient powerful artifact is being transported past his territory, and he MUST have it!
"Minions! prepare the birds for flight! Hurry up! that amulet is worth far more than all of you combined and I won't have it be taken from me, just because you lot won't pick up the pace! "
" -growls in frustration-....Curse you Hazel Willowtail! this isn't that last you'll see of me! "
"Finally....after all these years, the amulet is MINE! "
Holy cow! This is shockingly good. I say it's shocking because I accidentally clicked my mouse on the middle of your track and I’m glad I did. Even though your audition is pitched -- it's actually believable--- the acting is actually quite good on this.
Wow..... Incredible enthusiasm!
Very nice take man! Though I personally would not recommend that you edit your audition or post process to such a degree as lowering your pitch. A casting director wants to hear the real you, and if you pitch up to the real gig and they expect that voice - they want it straight out the gate. Not having to then get an audio engineer to try replicate or spend extra time on their project. Give them the real you. Humble opinion. Not every villain is a low gruff monster, plenty of them out there with higher pitched shrieks that are just as dangerous. Play with it.
Thanks for the advice. Looking at the other auditions, they aren't as deep voiced as I thought. So I might as well give that a try.
Be the evil little beastie that you know you can be! Let the character just come, even if it doesnt 'fit' to the voice type you were thinking about. I got the essence of the enthusiasm and desire from you, thats great! If the character does eventually need some modulation, let the director / producer determine that and give them a solid base they can then adjust. All of OVerwatch or Apex Legends did that, they then got modulation added on after.
