Smiley broke out in a sugar-coated sweat and hastily fumbled at his belt for his pea-shooter. Dan’l was ready. Six long years ready. He effortlessly unslung his double-reeded shotgun from over his shoulder,  loaded with the cursed buckshot that had almost ended his life, and fired straight into Smiley’s overweight thorax, splattering him against the bar like a rotten tadpole egg against a river stone. Dan’l looked at the mess he’d made and said in a low ribbetty tone,”Cheaters never win”. With the job done, Dan’l hopped out of that cursed town feeling lighter than ever before.
