Melody is known to be one of 3 maidens in the castle, and is a true witness of the king's death. she's also the princess' best friend and support. unlike the princess herself, Melody is more self aware, brave, and has so many things to reveal, but can't as the main antagonist of our story (Radian), has his eye on the whole castle and Melody has to make sure that she isn't caught, she also has to make sure that she gains as much evidence to expose Radian from the inside, and updates the princess on what he's up to in secret
