For this particular script, you would play the role of a young boy. He can be anywhere from 3 to 8 years old. You only need to do the lines of the little boy and not the Legion soldier.
Boy (Your line): I want to go home! Where's my mom?!!! Why are you doing this to us??!! (pleading, , angry, confused)
Legion soldier: Silence!!! (Loud and authoritative) Your home is here! And you will no longer address her by that name. (menacing) Do you understand, Atticus? (tone becomes softer and kinder)
Boy (Your line): My name isn’t Atticus! My name is Peter! (angry)
Legion soldier: Your name is Atticus! Do I make myself clear! (angry tone)
Boy (Your line) : What?! (confused, teary eyed, in pain)
Legion soldier: And if you do not deem yourself a soldier of the Legion I will have you lashed.
Boy (your line) : No! No (Frightened, scared)
Legion soldier: Good. What is your name? And....who are you?
Boy (Your line): My name is….Atticus…..and I am a soldier of the Legion.
Legion soldier: (softer and kinder tone) (approving) Very good. Now join the rest of them.
WOW! You've got line 2, line 3, and line 4 down perfectly. I'd like a redo of line 1. But let's change it. Can you just make it a sad, sullen voice rather than him getting at the centurion. So instead of ==>: "I want to go home! Where's my mom?!!! Why are you doing this to us??!!"...change it more to...(sobs) I...I want to go home....where's (sniffeling)..my mome (about to cry)....Why...are...why are you doing this to us? (He's not yelling..he's just more confused and sad and crying but he knows he's powerless to do anything.
In the retake, you don't have to redo everything. Just the first line only.
