Kaichi is a big talker. In his previous life he was one of the youngest people to win an adult martial arts tournament, and it largely got to his head. He cares very much about his friends and has a big heart, but his brain has a hard time catching up sometimes. He's by no means an idiot, quite the opposite having been an honor student. Despite this, he often speaks on impulse and can seem rather aggressive, but he's often more bark than bite.

This is pretty much the only role that's entirely open to any accents. I'm particularly leaning towards a high timbre italian style accent, but british, north american, and asian accents are all welcomed to audition. I'd compare the actual cadence and timbre of his voice in my head to Angel Dust from Hazbin Hotel, but I'd be very happy if you proved me wrong!.

Kaichi is one of the primary characters of the overall story, and as such will be appearing in multiple shorts with between two and twenty voice lines each. Payout is of course flexible and can be arranged on a per-video basis (or voluntarily.)

  • (Heated) Yeah? I bet I could take you all on with my eyes closed! S-See? They are closed!

  • (Sad) ...I guess I just used to know so much about myself and my place in the world, but now I'm just another voice screaming into the void. And I can't even hear it.

  • (Humoured) Oh yeah you're a real fighter, that's why you've got two gorilla hands always draggin' around right?

Thanks so much for your audition! First off, your rhythm and clarity of speech are both admirable for the most part, but I'd still suggest doing several takes (if you haven't already) to make sure you hit everything right. A good example is "closed" which could be emphasized a bit more, but other than that it's honestly pretty good. You capture the emotions as described fairly well. My main suggestion for improvement is voice comfort. I think that if you were to practice the voice for longer, you would be able to sort of get into a comfortable spot where the timbre and mixed hoarseness find a bubble of stability and comfort. There's a tad bit of inconsistency in the texture of the voice you've created for Kaichi, and I believe that its overall texture and cadence shows you have skill with your voice (especially when pairing it with your other audition) and you just need to continue nurturing it. I don't think this is quite the voice I'm looking for, but I hope that the feedback will help you with further improving your voice acting skills and future auditions! :)
