Role assigned to: Stephen_Carlock

Eliza's closest friend. Atticus has had an interest in her since a child, and the king and queen have suggested he would make a great suitor for Eliza multiple times. Atticus is extremely protective and can become easily jealous of others. He does not always think through his actions or their consequences, simply attempting to do what he thinks is best for Eliza.

[Charming, jokester, protective]

[Caucasian; straight]

[British accent]

[195 total lines/sound effects]

I picture Atticus' voice similar to Liam Hemsworth's. His voice could be any range between a lower-medium to a medium-high pitch (not too low or high of a pitch).

IMPORTANT: The first two scenes of the script are Atticus as a child. I plan on casting a different person for this role because I need a high pitch, which will be completely different from his adult pitch. However, if you can pull off a male child, please feel free to audition for "Young Atticus" below and I may double-cast you. "Young Atticus" is an unpaid role because he only has five lines.

  • Introduce yourself!

  • 1.  (teasing) Elizabeth? Being responsible? She was petrified!

    2. (worn, upset, overwhelmed, unable to finish) I can’t witness the cruelty happening in there. I can’t watch him… [die]

    3. (reluctant to say it in front of Arabella, irritated, unnerved) This work is not for… for a royal’s hands.

  • 4.  (upset, cold, betrayed) I’m sorry, but I can no longer trust a word that escapes your lips.

    5.  (somber, hurt, guilty) ...If you wish me gone, I will go, and I promise you will never see me again.

    6. Provide a take of you crying, grunting, and laughing.

Thank you for auditioning! Your emotion is pretty good, but you don't suit what I want for Atticus. I'd also say for future reference to step away from your mic a bit or lower your mic level when recording, just because there's a lot of peaking in your recording!

thanks for telling me, i'll turn down my audacity volume next time.
