Unpaid
Role assigned to: elsielovelock

The beautiful young heiress of Antonia. She is rather naive, and she causes mischief in many situations. Eliza has grown up with Atticus since they were children. She does not appreciate most royal company and prefers speaking with the commoners inside the kingdom.

[Rebellious, sweet, loving, naive]

[Caucasian; lesbian]

[British accent]

[Any pitch]

[617 total lines/sound effects]

IMPORTANT: The first two scenes of the script are Eliza as a child. I need a higher pitch for these two scenes. If you cannot manage a higher pitch but you fit for Eliza, I will cast another person for "Young Eliza" and subtract the payment accordingly. If I need to cast someone else, "Young Eliza" will be an UNPAID role because she only has 11 lines.

The first audition line is Child Eliza, and the rest are Eliza as an adult.

  • Introduce yourself!

  • 1. [CHILD ELIZA, HIGHER PITCH]  (trying to cheer Atticus up, reassuring, teasing) You must ignore their jests. I know you’re sensitive.

    2. [ADULT ELIZA] (complaining in a joking, over-dramatic manner) Curse the gods who made me an only child! Why must I become queen?

    3.  [ADULT ELIZA] (defensive, angered, sympathetic) I just believe it's unfair how our kingdom’s servants are mistreated. They are just like you and I.

  • 4. [ADULT ELIZA] (pure hatred, heartbroken) You cannot change who I am. No matter how many innocent people you hurt, no matter how much you abuse your power - you cannot change that, Elaine.

    5. [ADULT ELIZA] (sobbing, terrified, pleading, yelling/screaming) LET GO OF ME! LET GO, PLEASE! DON’T DO THIS!

    6. Provide a take of you screaming, sobbing, grunting, and laughing.

This was a really good audition! Your emotion is actually great. For feedback, I would recommend turning up your lines more, since they seem to be really quiet. Your pitch in this audition is a little too high for what I'm looking for in Eliza, but thank you so much! One other thing I'd say is that when you're reading angry emotion, sometimes your voice makes a 'HHH' sound. This is a common thing I've been noticing in people auditioning, where they seem to put almost TOO much *h* noise behind their execution. I do it myself sometimes! It's always good to just be aware of it when recording.
