Zypher: Storms
Project Overview
Zypher is a MG/YA fantasy book I self-published a few years ago. The book has seven short stories plus and epilogue. Storms is the third story in this book.
Storms is about Rai, a nineteen-year-old who lives with his adoptive father and brother. Recently he has been having dreams about a storm. When his brother is recruited for a crafting job elsewhere and his childhood friend Lyra is interested in another boy, the storms in Rai's dreams become reality. Just what are these storms and why is it affecting Rai?
Telling stories has been a passion of mine for a very long time. I love telling stories that inspire, help, and impact people in a positive way. I am looking for people who are passionate about storytelling like I am and want to make something that matters.
I am casting voice actors and actresses right now. For the minor roles you should be able to finish within a week of being casted as there are not many lines. For main roles, you should be able to finish your lines within 2-4 weeks of being casted. Since these are short stories, they aren't very long and shouldn't take that long to complete. If for whatever reason you aren't able to complete the lines on time, please be transparent with me. I understand things happen.
This project is unpaid. Right now I am in the starting phase and won't be able to provide payment for doing these kinds of projects.
Auditions should contain:
2-3 takes per line.
You can audition for multiple roles if you'd like.
Please have high quality equipment/microphone. I won't be considering auditions with poor quality. Please be professional with your quality.

Rai is a nineteen year old who works at his family's shop. He has been having dreams of a terrible storm. He is mild mannered but when the storms affect him his emotions spill over.
Voice: I need someone who is good at playing teenagers. Someone who can go from soft to having a wide range of emotions. The first line is him being supportive and the next two are him arguing with his brother and friend.

It affects me when I have to watch you battle alone. I’m not going to sit by and watch you get squished. Sometimes, we need help from others when our problems become too much for us to bear.”
No, I won’t! Without you, Father will look to me to pick up the slack! We both know I am nowhere near your level of crafting! Our business will suffer, and Father will disapprove of me! How could you be so selfish?”
“Best friend? Apparently, your best friend doesn’t exist since you found someone else’s arms to get warm in?”
Lyra is Rai's childhood friend. She is reserved and isn't very confrontational. She has taken an interest in another boy which makes Rai's storms even stronger.
Potential trigger warning: Her father is abusive, but it is only stated in the story. There are no scenes of abuse in this story.
Voice low/medium
I need someone who sounds depressed, reserved, gloomy most of the time. There are instances where she acts smitten and even where she lets out her emotions. Lines 1 and 2 are her normal character voice and the 3rd is her being more emotional/expressive.

“I don’t want to be a burden. I try my best, but I end up getting hurt. My dad makes it even worse. I don’t know why he’s been treating me like this recently. The last thing I want is for my pain to affect you.”
( small laugh) “You always know what to say. Maybe you are right, I don’t feel safe all the time, but I feel safe when I am with you. You’re like a shield for me, even though I don’t reach for it when I need to.”
(expressive) “Why do you have a problem with Cheren? He has done nothing to you or me. This is exactly why I didn’t want to tell you about him in the first place!”
Tyson is Rai's older brother. He is a lively character who has great sense of humor.

I need someone who has a comedic tone and can display a vibrant personality but can also be serious when the script calls for it.

(serious tone) “Considering the way her father has been treating her the past few months, I don’t blame her for being detached from everything. I will close up shop for today. Why don’t you go check on her and make sure she is all right?
Some extra voices in the story.
Line one is for Rai and Tysons father. Use an old man voice.
Line 2 is an old man. The voice needs be a kooky old man voice.
Line 3 is a normal male voice.

“You mean to tell me you young whippersnappers have never heard the Tale of the Storm?”
“Wow, hard to think a legendary Storm would return now. Does anyone know why the Storm appears or what causes it?”
