Spoilers Ahead for Zero Escape: Nine Hours, Nine Persons, Nine Doors!
Hello, auditioners! Thanks for stopping by and welcome to the auditions of my non-profit fandub of the first installment of the Zero Escape games, Zero Escape: Nine Hours, Nine Persons, Nine Doors. This particular dub will not be the entirety of the game, it will only be the introductions of the characters and each of the endings (including the true ending).
For those of you unfamiliar with Zero Escape: the Zero Escape series is a series of adventure games directed and written by Kotaro Uchikoshi. Each game in the series follows a group of nine individuals, who are kidnapped and held captive by a person code-named "Zero", and are forced to play a game of life and death to escape. The gameplay is divided into two types of sections: Novel sections, where the story is presented, and Escape sections, where the player solves escape-the-room puzzles. In the first two games, the Novel sections are presented in a visual novel format, whereas the third uses animated cutscenes. The stories branch based on player choices, and include multiple endings.
I want this fandub to be as professional as possible so I expect quality in the auditions. I expect you to have some knowledge about audio engineering/mastering. Please ensure that your microphone is capable of recording your performance without picking up overwhelming background noises or ANY peaking/clipping. Simultaneously many of these roles tend to emote HEAVILY, as such, most roles will probably involve shouting and even a bit of hamming it up/overacting, in some capacity, at some time or another. If you cannot commit to the needs of a given role, please do not audition for that role.
Schedule:This project will be a LONG-TERM project, so please, DO NOT AUDITION IF YOU'RE BUSY WITH OTHER THINGS. I plan for the work of the project to start on May 9th, 2021. On the 9th of May, I plan to hold an icebreaker/read-through of the introduction scene with all of the cast at an agreed-upon time. During this read-through, I plan to help give an idea of what I want but PLEASE DO EXPERIMENT with the lines and we'll see if we can come to an agreement on it. The time to record will be from the 15th to the 29th of the month that the video is released (For the introduction video, the deadline will be from May 9th to the 29th). Each video is planned to be released every two months, specifically, on the 9th. The videos will be released on my new fandub channel, Golden Stereo Entertainment.
A few final notes:1.) I DO NOT EXPECT YOU TO BE 100% ACCURATE WITH REPLICATING THE ORIGINAL VOICE. I want them to be as close as possible to the original VA's performance. Each role will have the suggested guidance and ideal performance parameters I have in mind for each character, but the beauty of acting is taking the same premise or direction and presenting it with your own unique flair.
2.) Anything in parentheses down below is voice directions - this text exists solely to give context to the lines you will be reading.
3.) The deadline for auditions is subject to change.
4.) Minor characters will be added later, so be sure to check back if you want to audition for those characters.
5.) PLEASE DO NOT SLATE YOUR AUDITIONS.

7.) As soon as casting is finished, I will send everyone who received roles a PM on CCC a link to the Discord Server where I will hold the icebreaker and give announcements about the projects.

Junpei is a rather ordinary and unremarkable guy who is almost done with college. Although Junpei was very serious throughout the Nonary Game, he was very prone to making jokes despite the serious atmosphere that arouses when the players of the Nonary Game were investigating a room they needed to seek a way out of.

(Confused/Angry) Do any of you know what the fuck is going on here?! Who's Zero?! What's this "Nonary Game"!? C'mon! Anybody? Anything?! What the hell is going on?! What are we doing here?!
(Jokingly) What do you mean "what the hell is a funyarinpa"? You mean... you don't know?! How could you not know?! That's... that's practically blasphemous. Say you're sorry! Apologize to the funyarinpa! Goodness, you are such a rude woman.
(In pain) OOOOOOWWWCHGODDAMNIT! Gah! What the hell!?
Hongou seems to trust the other players and advises everyone else to follow his lead, although he does things behind their backs. He claims he will not do Zero's bidding and will determine his own destiny, but ends up falling into Zero's trap mistakingly. Hongou has an altruistic outlook and acts very heroic at times to make the other players less suspicious of him. He is often the voice of calm reason when events descend into chaos. After he was discovered to be the leader of the Nonary Project nine years prior to the start of 999, Hongou becomes very cruel, sadistic, and uncompassionate about the other players and doesn't care about how many people he has to kill in order to escape. He also exhibits some psychopathic, sociopathic and psychotic behavior, and is the type of guy who would harm and kill an innocent child by incinerating her alive and laugh at her impending death.

(Calm/Trustful) I trust you, each and every one of you. I believe you'll come back for me.
(Defeated) I admit it... I've lost. I have lost, completely and utterly. But don't misunderstand, Junpei. I didn't lose to you. (beat) I lost to Zero. Not you. (beat) I'm rather disgusted with myself for falling into such a simple trap. And it was a trap, make no mistake. I was trapped and manipulated by Zero.
(Angry/Desperate) Stay... stay away from me! Get back! (beat) L-Listen to me! I said, don't come any closer! (beat) Shit! You bastard! (beat) Y-You son of a bitch! (beat) You're... you're a monster! Get off of me! Let me go! Damn you!
Light has a princely demeanor. He is level-headed, calm, rational, logical and mature. Despite the dangerous situations he found himself in, he usually remained calm, but when he was angered, he would become very aggressive. He loves Clover with a passion and tries to protect her, and would do anything for her, even dying to avenge her death. He kept the truth about the Nonary Game a secret in order to protect Clover and only opened up once he knew it was safe to do so. Despite his blindness, or perhaps because of it, he has the insight to see through various truths.

(Sarcastically) I am shocked and appalled that guessing at random has not yielded better results.
(Angry/Struggling) I'll kill you... I'll kill you... Hurgh... This is... it, Ace... We're going to... burn to death... together
(At Ease) "Hehe...hehe... Ahahahahahahaha! Oh, my apologies... You were just... So very confident! I couldn't help myself."
Although Aoi is usually rude, smug, arrogant, and cocky, he tends to be sarcastic and mysterious as well. When extremely agitated, he has the tendency to use profanity. This doesn't necessarily mean he lacks empathy or is cold, however. He keeps pushing forward and doesn't like dealing with indecisiveness. Aoi is a lone wolf, and he has no spirit of cooperation, preferring to work by himself. He was very suspicious of the other players and didn't trust anyone, other than himself. At one point in the Nonary Game, he even advised Junpei to not trust the others in any circumstances whatsoever, saying that anyone could deceive him.

(Sarcastic/Annoyed) Oh, yes, what an excellent idea! We just wasted a bunch of time looking for some piece of electronic junk, now let's waste some more by looking for a couple of idiots!
(Serious) Sure, I was helping Zero out, but I'm really more of an... assistant. Like a secretary. But an assistant's only an assistant. I didn't come up with all this. All I did was follow Zero's orders.
(Anxious/Angry) "Fuck! I've had enough of this crap! How long are we gonna pussyfoot around like this?! We've only got 8 hours until this time limit Zero was going on about is up! Let's get goin' already! Go! Go!"
Clover is a free-spirited girl with fiendish cunning. She is eccentric, bubbly, whimsical, sensitive, random, slightly unpredictable and prone to having rapid swings of emotions. She has a hyper, upbeat and cheerful side to her when she is happy. However, she can also be inappropriate, immature, spoiled, selfish, perverse, impulsive, defiant, and bratty. She likes being called "Clover-chan" and being thought of as "hella moe", but can become extremely violent when prompted. Clover tends to not speak a lot in a large group, and talks a lot more in a smaller group.

(Grossed out) Ewwwwwww that's gross. (beat) If that kinda thing turns you on, Seven, you're a real creepo.
(Distraught) I'm sorry, but... I don't want to talk about that right now... I'm just... not in the mood, okay? (beat) You understand right..? I'm just... I keep thinking about my brother... I... I can't stop... I mean, who would do something like that...? To my brother... I can't forgive them. I'm not gonna let them get away with it...
(Angry) I'll never forgive him! Never never NEVER NEVER! (beat) I'm gonna kill him!
For the bulk of 999, Akane, as June, acts cheerful and upbeat. She is optimistic, kind, intuitive and helpful to the best of her abilities, though she can be somewhat quirky and naive. She also appears to trust and believe in everyone, and refuses to let anyone get left behind or die, even if it's absolutely the only choice to proceed. True to the "Peacemaker" Enneagram of Personality she was based on, she values peace, love, and tranquility. Akane also believes that everyone could be friends if they talked it out and tried to understand each other's perspective more.

(Happily) Tee-hee. Despite my looks, I'm the Qleen (pronounced KLEEN)... bleh. Ahem... the Queen of random knowledge.
(Confused) This is kind of a weird-looking picture. (beat) Do you think it's an abstract painting or something? It looks kind of like... a demon... with an elephant-like nose... sucking on a human being's brain...
(Exasperated. Close to death) Jumpy... I'm sorry... I... I might not make it. Thank you, Jumpy... Thank you so much... For everything... I was... really happy... To see you again, Jumpy... Really... happy...
Seven is very easygoing, and gets excited at times of distress, but overall, he tries to keep an optimistic outlook for the sake of keeping his and the others' sanity. He is awkward, lacks delicacy, and his words tend to be frank and to the point. He is a drinker and enjoys booze. He also has a bit of a perverted side. He has a kind heart, cares deeply for everyone, and treats all the other players with kindness, although he tends to spat with Lotus, whom he thinks to be a demon disguised as a beautiful woman.

(Cocky) Maybe, but what about common decency? Nobody wants to hafta look at a chick who looks like a half-naked raisin...
(In awe) Shit... Holy shit... This is nuts... I remember... Everything... Yeah... yeah! I remember all of it! My memory's back! I remember what happened before I got snatched!
Lotus was usually very cryptic and spoke what she called nonsense most of the time. She had an easy going and laid-back personality, but has a strong backbone where it counts. She could be snarky and sarcastic at times and make jokes. However, if anyone had insulted her age, called her an old lady, or made a joke about the way she was dressed, she would turn into what Seven called a demon. She also doesn't get along with Aoi because of his rude comments towards her.

(Cocky) "Mirror, mirror, on the wall, who's the fairest of them all? "That would of course be Lotus." Ohohohoho!"
(Anxious/Scared) "W-Wait! I'm telling you now, there is no way in hell that I'm going into Door 5! Call me whatever the hell you want, I'm not going in there! If I'm going to have to walk through all that blood, then I'd rather stay here!"
(Concerned) Look... Do you think you could do me one last favor? (beat) If something happens to me, I want you to tell my daughters that I loved them very much. ...No. Tell them that I will always love them.
When the Nonary Game began, Kubota was very quiet and reserved. Kubota was cowardly and Junpei remarked that Kubota "had only a fingertip's-worth of a grip on his sanity." He was initially quiet, not speaking at all until interrogated about his bracelet. He then remarked that he had a plan to escape and began ordering everyone around. Whenever he did talk, he had a nervous stutter and was fidgety.

(Cautioning) I-I-If you get any closer--! I-I'll cut her open!
(Shouting/Panicking) Shit! Why isn't it stopping?! Goddammit! (beat) Y-Y-You l-lied! T-This wasn't supposed to happen! This is wrong! O-O-O-Open the door! Please! I'm begging you! (beat) A-Ah... Oh my God, oh my God, there's no time left...! (beat) A...Aahh... Aaahhhh... Gyaaaaaaaaaaaaaah--!
