Project Overview

Yu Yu Neo is a Yu Yu Hakusho fan fighting game using the M.U.G.E.N. engine. This project is being developed into a full game and we're gonna need some voice actors for each of the characters. We are looking for voices as similar to the Funimation Dubbed English cast as possible.

Kuwabara is consistently described as being stupid and ugly. However, he is extremely loyal to his friends and has a very strict code of honor. He would do anything for his friends and for love. He can be clumsy, reckless, rude and is also stubborn, persistent, and also has a great sense of humor. He doesn't give up a fight, even if he's injured. He has a temper, but not as bad as Yusuke's. He has a kind heart (being considered the kindest of the four main characters) and an honest nature. Also, he dislikes fighting girls.

  • Sacrificing your life to save billions of others. You've lit our torches and I won't let your death be in vain... even if it means I'll be joining you soon.

Hiei prefers to keep his distance from others, so he often comes across as aloof and elusive. He has a rather cynical and even misanthropic view of the world around him, often belittling and mocking humans and their emotions and the significance they place on friendship and life. And while he is relatively taciturn, he occasionally squabbles with and insults his teammates, especially Kuwabara. It is obvious that deep down he holds a certain amount of respect and kinship for his teammates, but seems to be closest to Kurama and Yusuke.

  • You do them one favor and they think you're their best friend. This is why I could care less if their entire species was swallowed up.

Kurama is the most calculating, cunning and analytical member of the main characters and perhaps in the whole series. He is able to carefully look past his feelings and see the real situation at hand, which has been demonstrated on more than one occasion. He is extremely perceptive, able to quickly recognize the patterns and mistakes that his opponents make, which gives him an edge. In battle, while his preference is to concoct strategies based on deduction of his opponents' fighting abilities and style, his natural battle instincts are also highly tuned. He is capable of slashing another person's head off in just an instant, relying only on impulse. However, his care for his friends and family are the backbone of his fighting drive, as he would sacrifice just about anything to protect them and thus making him a reliable teammate despite his cunning front. Kurama has a very kind heart, and several villains in the series will use this ploy against him in order to beat him.

  • You were wrong on two counts. Even the hardest substance can be broken, when crashed into itself. And the ability to feel pain is not a weakness. It’s a strength. Pain tells a creature its vulnerabilities, and that's how you expose them to attack. Your robot is dead. And so, I’m afraid, are you.

  • You try to sound like you think things through, when in fact, you’re not thinking at all.

Genuinely helpful and well-meaning, she can be somewhat clumsy and short-sighted. She's also bubbly and cautiously-optimistic, but can be a bit of a scaredy-cat. She sometimes tends to be a motormouth. She used to view Yusuke as an interesting subject to study until she develops a bond with him, and becomes a valuable ally and close friend. Later, as Yusuke teamed up with Kuwabara, Hiei, and Kurama, Botan helps the whole team as well.

  • "We are here at the most exciting match of the Dark Tournament... Hello. After an intense round between Keiko and Yusuke, it seems to be a brief moment of peace. Lets see how it resolves..."

Throughout the series, Toguro displays a calm, relaxed attitude, hardly ever showing any signs of emotion. His only accentuated facial expressions are present when he is either very happy, usually during an exciting fight, or very angry, against posers and dishonorable people. He mostly speaks plainly and firmly to others, and is never afraid to speak his mind. However, underneath this composed exterior lies a man with a powerful, self-applying and dependable code of personal honor and general morals. Toguro prefers not to take the lives of anyone unless the job demands it, and usually ends up apologizing for his actions afterwards. He is also very loyal to his employer, as long as he is under contract. But while in the presence of individuals who behave dishonorably, cheat, mock, or otherwise do not follow the rules, he displays a ruthless and highly brutal behavioral pattern. For example, during the time of the tournament's finals, in the English dub, Toguro literally kicks his older brother off the island and heavily knocks him into the nearby ocean with one heavy punch after the older sibling sadistically mocks Genkai for her decisions in life in front of the tournament's entire audience (in the manga and Japanese anime version his brother suggested that they cheat, something that personally insulted Younger Toguro, who pointed this out just before he kicked his brother off the island, stating that he had forsaken his humanity but never his honor).

  • You have great power. You're right to be proud. It's unfortunate you have to die now, but I will honor you with forty-five percent of my strength. 


    (Praising his opponent, yet knows they stand no chance against him)

  • "There's no one here to impress, Yusuke. And I can see your entire body shaking. The ability to fear your enemies is one of your strengths. It forces you to reach your potential. But you haven't been scared enough. You need some motivation, and that's why I've come here. To show you my TRUE POWER!" 


    (Acknowledging Yusuke's potential, and wanting to give him an obstacle to overcome.)

  • Not even the best of contracts justifies killing as cruelly as I've just done. I apologize to this creature 

    (Showing genuine remorse for killing an innocent)
