[Youtube] Rapunzel
Project Overview
Hello! I’m back with another fairytale story: Rapunzel!
I use Sylvanian Families dolls to tell fairytale stories on YouTube.
Rapunzel is inspired by the original Grimm tale, so there are scenes where Mother Gothel cuts Rapunzel's hair and the prince loses his eyesight to the thorns. These moments will not be portrayed violently and will be kept PG.
The story begins upbeat and happy but gradually becomes more dramatic. However, it does have a happy ending!
I’m really excited about this project and hope you enjoy auditioning!
***BEFORE AUDITIONING, PLEASE READ:
From now on, I will be using a mix of authentic and AI-generated images from Pixabay. I will primarily use them as backdrops to set the scene.
Every other media used in the video, such as music and props, will be authentic.
Please keep this in mind before auditioning.
Thank you!

Looking for a male/female voice actor to take on the role of Narrator.

(neutral) This is the story of Rapunzel, the girl with long, golden hair. But before we tell her story, we must start from the very beginning—with a love story that unfolded long before her birth.
Gothel is a powerful sorceress but abuses her power to get what she wants.
She is very possessive of Rapunzel and shows maternal love in a twisted way.
While she does care for Rapunzel as if she were her own, she feels betrayed when Rapunzel wants to leave the tower. In an argument with her, she sends her to the desert wastelands, where she believes she will live in misery and sorrow.
The voice actor must be comfortable expressing anger.

(Cold, matter-of-fact) It was foolish of you to think you could double-cross me.
(To baby Rapunzel, calming/soothing tone) Hush, little one. Mother’s here… You’re safe now, and I’ll make sure no one takes you away from me.
(anger) Fine, Rapunzel! Go ahead, leave the tower and see the world for yourself! You’ll soon realize just how cruel and unforgiving it is out there. And before long, you’ll be crying out for me, regretting you ever wanted to leave!
Prince Rupert wanders the forest when, one day, he hears beautiful singing.
He follows the sound and finds Rapunzel. He encourages her to come to the castle so she can perform for the public. When Rapunzel agrees, he promises to help her leave the tower.
Eventually, he discovers that Rapunzel has been 'abducted' by Gothel and reveals the truth to her, but she finds it hard to believe.
He helps her find her parents and marries her in the end.

(In awe/admiration. With a raised voice, as you’re speaking to a maiden up in a tower.) Good heavens, milady! That was enchanting! I stand in awe of your voice!
(Inspiring) Imagine this, milady... You stand upon a grand stage, singing the most enchanting song, capturing the hearts of all who listen. The crowd chants your name and they beg for more, demanding an encore!
(Affectionately) Rapunzel. Have I ever told you that you’re beautiful?
Rapunzel's mother has a very cute introduction with her husband.
Her condition worsens during pregnancy, and she seeks Gothel’s help. In exchange for a life-saving potion, Gothel asks that she give up her child.
She agrees to the deal, but she has no intention of truly giving up her child.

(Flirty, cutesy tone. Spoken affectionately.) Frederick, say ahh~
Is it just me, or does Rapunzel sound like a really cute name for a baby?!
(Sad, somber) If it’s a baby girl, will you please name her Rapunzel?
Rapunzel's father and mother are an adorably sweet couple introduced at the beginning of the story.
Must be comfortable delivering cutesy lines.
The context of the first audition line: Wife wants to feed you strawberries, so she asks you to say 'Ahh'

(Affectionately) AHH~ *nom* (or make a sound that you just ate something).
(Excited) Truly? Oh! I can't believe it! We’re going to be parents! You’re going to be a wonderful mother.
(Urgently) Lila! (Lie-Lah) We’re not really giving up our baby, are we?!
Minor role.
Feel free to use the same voice for both roles.

(As the pastor) I now pronounce you husband and wife.
(As the doctor, concerned tone) I am afraid that your condition has worsened since the last time we've met… If things continue as they are, the delivery could be dangerous. Fatal for you and the child…
