YouTube video looking into the accident of American 1420.
I'm looking for two voice actors to fill three roles. On completion I'll be happy to work together again in the future. Aiming to get a group of voice actors together to be a longer term part of the channel.
American Airlines flight 1420 was an MD-80 which crashed at Little Rock National Airport. The pilots were approaching the runway through a thunderstorm but forgot to arm the spoilers, devices on the winds which help the plane slow down on landing. When they did land, the plane skidded along the wet runway and ran off the end. Killing 11 of the 145 passengers.
Voice Actor
Male. Age 48. Experienced operator at American Airlines. But becomes slightly overwhelmed during the approach as he struggles to sight the runway. Becomes more stressed as the flight goes on.
Captain: “Yeah. I just, I never saw the runway.”
Captain: “I hate droning around visual at night in weather without having some clue where I am.”
Voice Actor
Male. Age 35. New to American Airlines but knowledgeable and very confident. Provides support to the Captain during the final, frantic stages of the flight.
First Officer: “Yeah, I would say right about. Maybe a little more and that’s about it. We could start down here pretty soon.”
First Officer (VHF Radio): “Okay, we can uh, see the airport from here. We can barely make it out but uh, we should be able to make 22. That storm is moving this way like your radar says it is a little bit farther off than you thought.” (Two two)
Voice Actor
Male. Age unknown. Provides support for the crew. Becomes fairly stressed towards the end of the flight.
ATC (VHF Radio): “American 1420 descend and maintain 10,000. The Little Rock altimeter is 29.86.” (Phraseology: “Fourteen twenty”. “One zero thousand”. “Two nine eight six”.)
ATC (VHF Radio): “American 1420, right now we have heavy rain on the airport. The current weather on the ATIS is not correct. I don’t have new weather for ya, but the uh, visibility is less than a mile. Runway 4 right RVR is 3000.”
