Project Overview

Welcome to the auditions page for “Your Turn To Die: Death Game by Musical”!


Your Turn To Die: A Death Game by Musical is a fanmade musical adaptation of the video game, Your Turn To Die by Nankidai. And specifically, I’m basing my work off of vgperson’s English translation of the game.

The musical is being made by Winchifrost (me) and uploaded to my Youtube Channel. 


My plan for this project is to create a Cast Recording and try to make it sound as professional as I can. To achieve this I would like to involve competent and passionate singers/voice actors to voice the characters.

REQUIREMENTS FOR AUDITION:


  • Be at least 16 years old


  • Have a decent microphone/be able to deliver relatively clean audio files (because we don’t have a recording studio and this project is being made online.)


  • Be able to communicate and share files via Discord and Google Drive.



Side note: The gender and age on the roles describes the characters. Anyone is free to audition for any character regardless of gender/age group (as long as you're 16+).

WILL I BE PAID?


No. This project is being made with a budget of 0. Sadly, I don’t have the funds to pay anyone for their work, so I’m looking for fans of Your Turn To Die who are willing to help me create this project without being paid. Regardless of the lack of monetary incentive, I hope we can create something to be proud of together!


WHAT HAPPENS IF YOU’RE CAST?


You and the rest of the cast will be contacted by me (Winchifrost) and be invited to a discord server so that you can meet your fellow cast members and so I can give you further details on the plan. I hope we can work collaboratively to come up with the best system!

-NOTICE!-

This project is still very much a work in progress! I still need to finish writing the second act and so changes are definitely going to be made to the whole show. I only hope that having a cast will help with the production process. Because this is still a work in progress, there are some contingencies regarding certain characters…


Regarding Meister: 

  • There is a chance this character may be cut! Depending on how Act 2 comes out and what I decide on in the future, I may decide to have Sue Miley take over his lines. This means I'm still casting him, but there's a chance he won't make it into the final product. I hope you understand.


Regarding Gonbee:

  • Currently, there are no lines written for Gonbee, so I won’t be casting him yet. However I doubt this will be an issue for now since he only appears halfway through act 2. When the time comes to look for a Gonbee, I will make a separate audition for him.


Regarding ???:

  • I have a couple ideas for what do to with the character labelled as “???” but until I solidify those ideas, who actually sings ???’s lines will remain a mystery.

    Hello everyone. I have an announcement to make regarding the casting of Your Turn To Die: Death Game by Musical.

    I am sorry to say casting has been cancelled.

    I apologize for not being able to fulfill my promises. I have realized I have bitten off more than I can chew when it comes to this project, and with the new school year on the horizon, it will not be feasible for me to handle everything that comes with managing a cast. I regret jumping the gun on casting before the musical was written to completion however it has still been a great learning experience! I hope you understand my current decision and forgive my younger self’s over-ambition (-w-”).

    That being said, this does not mean the musical is over! I will continue to create demos just like how you know them, so rest assured, the musical is continuing. It’s just the aspect of casting external voice actors that is being cancelled. At the end of the day, this is simply a passion project that I am glad to share with you.

    Hello everyone! 

    This will be a quick update and a reminder that callbacks for Your Turn To Die: Death Game by Musical are still ongoing. The original deadline was tomorrow, May 1st, however I am going to be extending the deadline by 2 weeks. The new time that callbacks close is May 14th 11:59pm UTC. I have also given an exact hour for when the callbacks close this time, so please make sure you get your submissions in by that time.

  • CALLBACKS ANNOUNCEMENT!

    Hello everyone! The day you have all been waiting for has finally arrived! I am here to announce the list of callbacks. 

    I will be listing off people using their Casting Call Club username. Those who have been selected for callbacks will receive a private message from me through Casting Call Club. The message will explain how the callback process will work and contain a google drive link that will bring you to further instructions!

    I also now have the help of two lovely assistants, Kate and Archer! So, if you have any questions or trouble regarding callbacks you can contact me or them on Discord at ArcherDevon#1313 and katie100katherine#8133.

  • YTTD: death game by musical - Callbacks Update 3

    Hello everyone! I know it’s been a (long) while, but I am here to update you about callbacks! 

    As of right now I have a self-imposed deadline of February 24. I want to announce the list for callbacks either before then or on that day itself. Currently I am working with my two amazing transcribers to make sheet music and audio-from vocal guides for all the characters. Thanks to their cooperation and enthusiasm, we will be able to provide guides that are clear. I will also share with you now that some of the characters will not have callbacks, as I have already decided who to cast for those roles. I will announce those roles at the same time as callbacks. 

    After February 24, I am going to try going on a bit of a hiatus. I’ll be celebrating my birthday! :D 

    I will most likely be back in mid March. However, it may take a while for me to upload any new YTTD musical content. As we’re coming up to half-way through act 2, I may take some time to write songs out of chronological order. 

    In the meantime, I’ve been working hard on other projects that I’ll be excited to reveal when they’re done. I have some excellent things planned that I'm sure you'll love, so do be on the look out for that! Thank you all so so much for your support for my projects!     Hi everyone! This is another update on callbacks! I want to sincerely thank everyone who auditioned for the musical! It’s really awesome having so much talent to choose from! I apologize for the long wait for callbacks. I have many other irons in the fire, in terms of creative projects so I hope you forgive the time it takes for me to organize callbacks and make decisions. I am making this update to reassure you that progress is being made, but also that I am taking a break for the coming week or so. I am having some medical issues right now (nothing major, just annoying) so I won’t be too focused on announcing callbacks. I hope you understand! Though I can’t guarantee it, my hope would be to have the musical cast before the end of the year, so pretty soon after my break, we should have a callbacks list! Thank you so much for your patience!   • Sara is the main character and the audience's point of view throughout the show. Joe calls her "steelmind" alluding to her incredible talent for staying calm in tense situations, however even Sara is fallible.

  • Mysterious yet reliable.


  • An ever-suspicious fellow, Keiji Shinogi acts as a natural leader and voice of reason in times of chaos. However he seems to be hiding a dark past, making him come off as untrustworthy at times.

  • Gin is an endearing child with a unique speech pattern, ending his sentences in "meows" and "woofs". Although he covers himself with a facemask and cat-themed hood, he wants to prove he can be brave in the face of danger.

  • Kanna is a young girl who's been more than traumatized by the death game, having lost her older sister. Despite her grief, she tries her best to be courageous.

  • The floor master of the death game. Sue Miley is a living doll who acts as the host of the death game. She's dramatic, musical and boasts a twisted and sadistic personality.

  • Meister is a fellow floor master of the death game. He's laid-back but no less evil than Sue Miley. I suggest he sounds similar to a 1940's Gangster, but feel free to experiment.
