Project Overview
As he and his friends step into their senior year, Peter Parker thinks he has the superhero gig down to a science. That is, until his crime-fighting antics catch the attention of the notorious KINGPIN.
Now with a price on his head, and a city at risk, Peter faces a slew of new threats as he fights to bring down the crime boss. (Ideally in time for graduation of course!)
In the first season of this animated fan-series, Peter Parker balances the pressures of growing up with the ever-present responsibilities of being Your Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man.

She’s essentially the mother of Peter Parker, as per usual. She‘s worked at the Feast Center for several years, having met her late husband Ben Parker while the two of them volunteered there as teenagers. She’s kind, witty, wise, and always looking out for the people around her, including her nephew Peter Parker. We're shying away from the dotting old Aunt idea. May will be the typical age for the mother of a high school senior. She frequents yoga, birdwatching with Peter, and baseball games (she used to go with Ben all the time!)

Ned is the most sarcastic of the friend group in Your Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man. He’ll have the lion’s share or snide comments among Peter’s friends. He’s also incredibly loyal and the first to show up when his friends need help.

Gwen Stacy is a senior at Midtown Manhattan Magnet High School. She's top of her class, daughter of Captain George Stacy of the NYPD, and best friend of Peter Parker.
Gwen is top of her class for a reason. She’s brilliant, always putting her best foot forward, and tries to hold her friends to a similar standard (imagine her frustration with the ever-tardy Peter Parker). Make no mistake, though. She has OTHER interests outside her studies. Gwen is an avid gamer, and spends most of her free time glued to either her Nintendo Switch or her PC. She has 3 brothers (one older and two younger) and is often telling stories about her chaotic mishaps while babysitting.
The voice behind Gwen Stacy would range from focused to chaotic. There'll also be serveral scenes of Gwen being caring and kind to her friends and family. She'll be the voice of reason within the main group of characters. The ideal actor doesn't necessarily have to sound like Hailee Steinfeld's version of the character, but they'll be able to give off the same energy.

Yuri Watanabe is a sergeant working under George Stacy. Of all the officers besides George, she’s the one most eager to let Spider-Man help the police. Yuri believes the system is incapable of dealing with threats like the Kingpin, which causes her to come across like a loose canon.
Yuri is a headstrong, stubborn, fearless cop. An energy similar to the Insomniac games would be perfect but not required!

George Stacy is a captain in the NYPD. He's renowned as one of the cities best cops. George is also the father of Gwen Stacy.
After 3 years of the police being unsure of Spider-Man's intentions, George is not only one of the few who trust Spider-Man, but he actively looks to Spider-Man for assistance as the season progresses. We need a wise, stoic, stereotypical dad voice for this character!

Eugene "Flash" Thompson is a senior at Midtown Manhattan Magnet High School. He's also captain and star quarterback for the Midtown High Tigers.
Flash is not the best student, but at the time of the series' start, he's worked his way up to a B average, and is about to seal the deal for a scholarship to Empire State University, along with his best friend Randy Robertson.
Flash and Peter have a rocky history, the were good friends as children, but as Flash ascended in his athletics while Peter receded into studies and skating, things changed. Flash became somewhat antagonistic of Peter up until their sophomore year of high school, where Peter began to come out of his shell and Flash began to open up to him.
Flash is very confident, and at times cocky, but care deeply about his team and-- to a greater extent-- his friends.

Randy Robertson is a senior at Midtown Manhattan Magnet High School. He's a co-captain and receiver for the Midtown High Tigers and the son of Joe and Rita Robertson, who both work at the Daily Bugle.
Randy has all but sealed the deal on a full ride scholarship to Empire State University, and eagerly awaits playing college football with his long-time best friend, and quarterback, Flash Thompson.
Randy is kind-hearted, smart, sarcastic, and very loyal to his friends.

Liz Allen is a senior at MIdtown Manhattan Magnet High School. She's an avid member of Midtown's Drama Club.
Liz has a bit of a rough home life. Her brother, Mark, has gotten himself in a great deal of trouble with gambling by the start of the series. To make matters worse, the night after Marcus was taken away, Liz's boyfriend Peter Parker broke up with her just before she was going to open up about her situation. Unbeknownst to her, this was because of Peter's struggle to balance their relationship with his life as Spider-Man.
At the start of the series, Liz is very soft spoken. She comes out of her shell during theater performances, and any time she's around Flash Thompson. She's kind, a bit stubborn, and can often be found in a sea of "popular kids".

Jonah at times shows a kind-hearted side, and at the end of the day, he truly wants his staff and his city safe. Mr. Stanford is an original character for Your Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man, and a season 1 regular. He‘s a homeroom teacher at Midtown High and is often seen at the start of the day for our main characters. Stanford is very blunt, monotone, and tends to say the most outlandish Things in the most casual tone. Think Ron Swanson from Parks and Rec. That’s the energy we’re going for.

Coach Stevens is a season 1 regular. He’s the gym coach at Midtown high. He’s incredibly intense, like a drill sergeant, and quite hammy. He would require a real character actor to pull off the role. (he has a habit of constantly calling Harry by a different wrong name every time they interact) (THIS CHARACTER APPEARS AFTER THE PILOT)

Leader of the Kingpin's Enforcers, Montana (aka Jackson Brice) is a seasoned mercenary eyeing retirement upon paying off his debt to the Kingpin. He's a bit older than the other enforcers, but through his experience, Montana has made a name for himself as one of the most cunning killers on the Kingpin's payroll. Though he is a hardened mercenary, Montana cares for his team.
Montana will have a thick southern accent, ideally a Texan accent. He'll talk fast and, under the right circumstances, he displays a great level of confidence. The only person he shows any kind of fear around is the Kingpin.

Though he has reservations about his employment, he is loyal to his team, and simply wants to pay of they’re debts to live quietly in peace.

Joe Robertson-- or "Robbie"-- is the father of Randy Robertson, and the Associate Editor at the Daily Bugle. He works along side Jonah Jameson (despite the two constantly bashing heads).
Being a friend of Randy's, Peter Parker has a great deal of respect for Robbie, and often looks to him for guidance at the Bugle.
We need someone who can counter the energy that will come from Jameson, while still being able to switch to a more fatherly tone.

A member of the Kingpin’s Enforcer. Fancy Dan is a suave, precise, and dangerous assassin. He has a sharp tongue and is often dishing out snide comments. Fancy Dan is particularly annoyed with his employment under the Kingpin, which could likely get him into trouble.

Johnny Storm is cool, relaxed and confident. In most ways he’s the opposite of Peter Parker, which makes them compliment each other when they interact. An energy similar to Chris Evans in Fantastic Four, without actually trying to sound like Chris Evans, is what we’re looking for. (THIS CHARACTER APPEARS AFTER THE PILOT)

New York City is, in my opinion, one of the most important aspects of Spider-Man. The city is best written when it’s bustling with people. We need all kinds of voices for the citizens who pop up here and there, each with their own lives, conversations and stories. For this audition, I’d like you to imagine who you’d be in Marvel’s New York. And say 3 random lines that you think that version of you would say! They don’t even have to be in English, since New York is one big mixing pot of culture! For the purposes of these roles, anyone who makes up a character/dialogue for themselves that gets put into an episode will be named in the credits of said episode!

Dr. Norman Osborn is the cold, stoic, often self obsessed CEO of Oscorp Industries. He's the father of Harry Osborn, and the two have had a rocky relationship since the death of Harry's mother years prior.
The general public know Norman to be a brilliant but snobby captain of industry. But little do they know, Norman has a network of underhanded deals with some of New York's most dangerous criminals.
We need a voice that can pull off the stoic, rude, stern, and judgmental tones of Norman Osborn. But when the few occasions arise, Norman need to show his rare kindness in brief moments with Harry.

During Season 1 of Your Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man, Matthew Murdock is an up-and-coming lawyer. You're typical understanding of his work at Nelson & Murdock would be pretty accurate to where this show sees him. Like the rest of New York, Murdock does not know the true identity of the Kingpin. But he is on the hunt to find out as DAREDEVIL. Though the rest of his crusades as the Devil of Hell's Kitchen are meant to clean up the streets of New York, with the Kingpin it's... personal. Matt's struggle this season is finding a way to separate justice from vengeance. And perhaps a little help from Your Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man is just what Daredevil needs!
Like the rest of the roles in this series, we don't want anyone to feel like they have to impersonate past iterations of this character. We wanna hear YOUR VOICE! :) But an energy similar to the casual intellect and kindness of Charlie Cox's Matt Murdock, coupled with a stern, to-the-point Daredevil is a BIG PLUS!

Dr. Michael Morbius is a well respected geneticist at Horizon Labs. He was instrumental in the leaps and bounds made at horizon in creating treatment for a rare blood disorder, which Morbius himself has. In an attempt to permanently cure his disease, Michael gave himself a new one: Pseud-Vampirism.

Shultz runs jobs for the Kingpin, armed with Shockwave Gauntlets provided by The Kingpin’s… esteemed benefactor. Shocker often finds solace with his mentor Montana, and the other Enforcers.

In this series, Dr. Doom is just as you remember him. A brilliant, ruthless inventor who frequently battles the likes of the Fantastic Four, the Avengers, and Your Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man.
We’re looking for a modernization of a classic Dr. Doom. Something like his appearance on the 1980s SPIDER-MAN series!

Leap-Frog will be a minor villain character in the first half of season one. Vincent Patilio is a runner for the Kingpin, though he moonlights as an engineer at AIM under the employ of Justin Hammer.
Leap-Frog will be an unassuming gag character of sorts, so we’ll need an animated, hammy voice to pull him off. For context, he’s terrified of superheroes, and instantly runs away when one arrives on the scene.

Felicia Hardy will be a recurring character in season one of Your Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man.
I’ve gotta stress this, this is Felicia as she’s first building the Black Cat persona, hence why her name on this casting call does not include Black Cat. At this time, Felicia is at the start of a personal vendetta against the Magia Crime Family. She‘s managed to infiltrate the criminal underworld of New York, and often finds work as a thief. To maintain appearance, and to further her journey towards the Magia heads, she works by day as a secretary at Oscorp Industries.
While she will be an active character in season one, Felicia will have an arc leading her to officially become Black Cat in this series!

Ultimate Comics and Spectacular Spider-Man fans might recognize Kenny! I had to put him in the series as he’s one of my favorite side characters! 😂 In this series, Kenny is another senior at Midtown High. He’s friends with Flash and Randy, and starting fullback for the Midtown Tigers.
Kenny’s known for being a gentle giant and lovable goofball, but occasionally he reveals how insightful he really is, and that he’s a whole lot smarter than people give him credit for.

Like Leap-Frog, Lorina Dodson works under the Kingpin’s employ. Unlike Leapfrog, however, White Rabbit is fearless (mainly due to her unhinged nature).
One thing the Kingpin does not know is that Lorina has been an informant with the NYPD for months. What neither the police NOR Kingpin know is that she’s ALSO been giving information to ANOTHER party (you’ll find out in the series)
