Project Overview
Game Description:
The glitz, glamour, and unbridled decadence of the 80s are back in Yakuza 0.
Fight like hell through Tokyo and Osaka with protagonist Kazuma Kiryu and series regular Goro Majima. Play as Kazuma Kiryu and discover how he finds himself in a world of trouble when a simple debt collection goes wrong and his mark winds up murdered. Then, step into the silver-toed shoes of Goro Majima and explore his “normal” life as the proprietor of a cabaret club
Project Description: Hello Everyone! My name is Casey Johnston. I love the Yakuza series, I've played nearly every game in the series. I am in love with it's humor, it's story and it's characters. I also love directing. I've directed many one act productions at my school and I love the feeling of putting together a proper show for an audience. I want to combine these two loves into a project that I've been looking forward to making. Yakuza games feature some of the most richly dense, complicated and engrossing storylines I've seen in a Video Game. However, the Yakuza series is infamous for it's lack of an English dub. There is nothing wrong with this, but I think it would be fun to create an English Dub for one of it's most popular entries. I only plan on dubbing the games first chapter for now, but there's a chance I may continue it I so desire. At the very least, I can guarantee that I will put my all into getting Chapter 1 dubbed and released
Requirements:
- You must be 17+. For the sake of keeping things simple, I do not want anyone under that age to partake in this project, as the game is rated M for Mature
- Have a good quality microphone. I want to keep things as professional as possible, and the less background noise, the better.
- Have an open schedule. I can work around work schedules, but I would like to be with you when you record your lines for the sake of better direction
- Do not edit your auditions with effects. Keep the audio as raw as possible
- No one will audition for Nishikiyama. I just like Nishiki and I would like to play him. I know that's selfish, but what are you gonna do
- Please do 2-3 takes. Not a requirement, just a suggestion
- Please include your Discord username and pin. Again, not a requirement but it helps alot
- Lastly, be ready to commit. I may want to continue dubbing the rest of the games chapters. It that so happens, I would like to have everyone have the same roles in between chapters

Lead of the series, and first playable character of Yakuza 0, Kazuma Kiryu. This is an intense character to play. DO NOT AUDITION FOR THIS CHARACTER UNLESS YOU ARE WILLING TO COMMIT TO A MASSIVE ROLE. In later games in the series, he is known for his love of family, friends and fights. In Yakuza 0 however, Kiryu is still finding his place in life, wanting to find a way to live up to his father figure, Shintaro Kazama. He's a bit rough around the edges, but he has a heart of gold. He may be stoic, but underneath is a man who will do anything for those he loves
I want a booming voice for Kiryu, yet is capable of expressing complex emotions. He's not a low-level grunt wanting to flex his strengths. He has a set of moral beliefs that he follows to a tee, and his voice should reflect this. His honor for battle hold no bound, and so does his pention for failure. Shibusawa is one of the three primary antagonists in Yakuza 0. He is characterized by his commitment to become the true dragon of the Tojo Clan, even resorting to killing innocent civilians in order to cement his status as a legend. He's a shadow to Kiryu in many ways, taking his character traits and twisting them to a dark direction.
His voice should sound intelligent yet also confident. He believes himself to be the absolute top of the Yakuza world and his voice should reflect that

Hiroki Awano is the third of Yakuza 0's primary antagonist's. He is an overconfident playboy, partaking in the many lecherous activities of the Yakuza world. He enjoys having fun and asserting his power over others. His voice should have a city slicker quality to it, but not overly so. Yeah. They only recently figured it out, though. They bought up 80% of the neighborhood before they found it. And it’s sitting in the dead center of the redevelopment area. If they can’t get that plot, there’s no way they can sell any of what they’ve already bought.

You may not be aware of this… but that patch was only discovered by chance after all the land around it… had already been bought. Tachibana is a strange individual. He is a serene individual, with an extremely holy presence. However, in this serenity lies an unknown darkness that makes you question his true intentions. Now that I think about it, he is very similar to Kaworu Nagisa.
His voice should reflect this, being very soft and tranquil yet capable of being threatening.
