XHC-XH
Project Overview
XHC-XH
Genre: Animated | Thriller | Mystery | Sci-Fi | Psychological Drama
Project Type: Independent Animated Series
Project Description
XHC-XH is an original animated thriller that follows a group of teenage recruits accepted into Outpost Vega, a state-of-the-art research facility operated by the mysterious corporation XHC-XH. Officially, the company exists to study an unexplained phenomenon known only as The Darkness—an expanding void that has consumed parts of the world for over forty years.
Among the recruits is Wren Castellan, who joins the program for one reason: to uncover the truth behind her older sister's disappearance during a previous expedition. As strange incidents begin to pile up, the recruits discover that the greatest danger may not lie within The Darkness itself, but within the corporation that claims to protect humanity from it.
Blending psychological suspense, mystery, dark humor, and sharp character dynamics, XHC-XH explores themes of generational exploitation, institutional corruption, grief, surveillance, and the cost of sacrificing truth for security.
This project aims to deliver a cinematic, character-driven experience with expressive animation, immersive sound design, and emotionally grounded performances. We are looking for passionate collaborators who are excited to help bring a compelling original story to life.
We welcome performers and artists of all experience levels who are reliable, communicative, and enthusiastic about contributing to an ambitious independent production. Please read each role carefully before auditioning, and most importantly have fun!
Thank you for your interest in becoming part of XHC-XH. We look forward to hearing your auditions and working with talented creatives from around the world.

2D Animation.
Think of the style rather than the stories of shows like:
Arcane (painted 2D-inspired look rendered in 3D)
The Owl House (expressive characters)
Invincible (clean action-oriented 2D)
Hazbin Hotel (bold stylized expressions)
That said, I wouldn't make it look exactly like any of those. I'd aim for something like:
✦ Thick line art
✦ Slightly muted colors outside The Darkness
✦ The Darkness itself almost monochrome with deep blacks and glowing accent colors (cyan, crimson, or violet)
✦ Film grain and subtle VHS/glitch effects whenever the name XHC-XH appears
✦ High-contrast lighting that makes even normal hallways feel unsettling
