Another thing, it would be useful to come up with a vanity card. A vanity card is a production plate founded by a specific person (usually an executive producer or creator of the show/movie, but it may also be a certain cast member, writer, etc.). For example, mine is Tribatonga Productions.

ABOUT THE CHARACTER

Tomo is an excited young lady. She never considers — nor cares about — the consequences of anything she says or does. This usually irritates those around her, especially Yomi, her classmate since elementary school. Because of this, and her usually awful test scores (in which she has a perverse pride), she is the unofficial "leader" of the "Knuckleheads" ("Bonklers" in Japanese) as they are called in the anime or "Numbnuts" as they are called in the original manga translation, along with Osaka and Kagura — even though Kagura's scores are even worse than hers. Tomo is, however, capable of doing well if she tries — though the only notable instance of this is getting admitted to their prestigious high school, and she only did this to annoy Yomi (as well as actually scoring better than Chiyo at a P.E. test once, for similar reasons). She also likes to irritate Yomi by teasing her about her weight insecurity. Tomo's favourite foods are fried chicken, egg roll, meat-balls and bananas. During the second trip to Chiyo's summer home, Tomo grabbed Chiyo's house keys and flung them into the overgrown yard to see what would happen if they lost them, then afterwards, while looking for it says "If I, like, found the key and threw it again, it would be totally hilarious." She later attempted to throw the key again after the keys were found but was pinned down by Sakaki. She also got a stool and put it in from of Chiyo when she was sleeping to torment her for sleeping so early.

Despite this, Tomo cares for her friends in her own way, as shown near the series conclusion when she attempted to cheer Kagura up after unintentionally making her feel guilty when they were preparing for the third year Sports Festival (after "bumping" into her to have some "fun").. Tomo also constantly imagines that she is competing with others. She is a fan of the graphic novel and animation series Lupin III and sometimes compares herself to the character Fujiko Mine, despite being completely different in appearance and personality. Tomo frequently refers to manzai comedians, and Osaka too joins in (manzai being a form of stand-up comedy particularly associated with the Osaka region). Tomo is more interested in dirty stories and sexuality in general than the rest of the cast, and asks the adults for "info" during the second summer retreat (once from a drunken Minamo). Dirty jokes are Tomo's "forte", including a particularly nasty one in the manga only; when Yukari and Minamo appeared in their old school uniforms during the third year Sports Festival and Tomo was dressed up as a policewoman (she threatened to arrest them on prostitution charges).

ABOUT THE CHARACTER

Koyomi Mizuhara (水原 暦 Mizuhara Koyomi), better known as Yomi (よみ Yomi) is a grade-school friend and general antagonist of Tomo's. She is also the voice of reason, and the most mature and serious of her friends — and as such, the comic foil to the others' silliness. Yomi, if pushed enough by Tomo, will even give her an uppercut that leaves Tomo unconscious on the floor. While Yomi likes to think that she's above her classmates' childish behavior, she can be just as bad as they are. For example, to pass her college entrance exams, she asked Chiyo to infuse an amulet with her intelligence (as Tomo and Osaka had done before). Yomi tends to hide her own childlike sides when around friends, as shown when she pretended that she did not care so much about going to the theme park the first time, but when she was alone, she was more excited than any one of the others and had even bought some guide books. She was also impressed with the first snow of the year once, and had bought a guide book when the gang went to Okinawa which surprised Chiyo-chan because Yomi attempted to have a rather neutral attitude. Yomi also has a rather evil sense of humour, shown when she took part in teasing Osaka when she had the hiccups (after causing them in the first place by deliberately feeding her something too spicy for Osaka to handle). It is suggested that she is much like her physical education teacher, Minamo Kurosawa, much as Tomo is similar to their homeroom teacher, Yukari Tanizaki. Yomi is both smart and athletic: out of the girls, her grades are second only to Chiyo-chan's, and while she isn't as good as Sakaki or Kagura at sports, she holds her own. Despite appearing healthy and fit, Yomi is dissatisfied with her weight and struggles with her fondness for food, particularly sweets and spicy dishes. She is constantly trying new diets, and sometimes anonymously writes to radio talk hosts for advice or with updates on her progress, which amuses Tomo. Yomi is also a terrible singer, as shown when the girls sing karaoke one Christmas (ironically, her seiyū, Rie Tanaka, is known for her beautiful singing voice). It was also revealed in Azumanga Daioh: Supplementary lessons that Yomi hates cicadas. Despite her good academic abilities, Yomi was the last of the friends to pass a university entrance exam.

ABOUT THE CHARACTER

While she makes appearances earlier on as one of Minamo Kurosawa's students, Kagura does not become a true acquaintance of the group until sometime later, joining Yukari's class in the 2nd year (Yukari selects her as a ringer to win the school athletic competitions). She devotes most of her time to the swim team but is an all-around good athlete. Thanks to her dedication to swimming Kagura receives some rather pronounced tan lines during the summer months, which friends like Osaka waste no time in pointing out – her exact words being: "You know, with that you could go to the pool wearing nothing and no one would even notice that something was missing". She also has a one-sided rivalry with Sakaki and attempts to outdo her in all activities, whether it is playing softball, sprinting, or even eating lunch. This is how her character was introduced to the rest of the cast, when during 1st year's field day, she was defeated by Sakaki in a running event. The next time the two meet, Kagura has decided to make Sakaki her rival, yet she also makes continuous attempts to be a good friend to Sakaki. Sakaki is a natural athlete (and doesn't remember a thing about running against Kagura during the first Athletics Fest, which stuns Kagura) and defeats her in almost everything except stamina events. Like her would-be rival, Kagura is embarrassed when Tomo Takino calls attention to the size of her breasts. Kagura is similar to Tomo in sheer energy and her lack of interest in studying, but is not prone to Tomo's impulsive outbursts and irritating behavior. Her low test scores and apathy for schoolwork have earned her a place in the "Bonkuras" (translated as "Knuckleheads" in the anime and "Numbnuts" in the original manga translation) alongside Tomo and Ayumu. Kagura's grades were actually slightly worse than Tomo's and Osaka's which led to her becoming the leader of the Bonkurazu by default. But because that leader title basically showcased how bad her grades were, it was something with which Kagura was anything but happy about. Tomo also points out that despite their scores and attitude toward schoolwork, they both ended up in the prestigious high-school anyway. However, in the manga, Kagura has been seen doing very well in health, getting a 91 on a test, to which Tomo remarks the reason for doing so well was her large breasts, to which she rebutes.

ABOUT THE CHARACTERS

Miruchi Kurosawa-Yamamoto and Yuka Tanazaki-Farley are Chiyo's friends from grade school. Despite having skipped ahead into high school, Chiyo still treats them as peers. In both appearance and name, they appear to resemble the girls' teachers, Minamo (Nyamo) and Yukari. They're also the nieces of Nyamo and Yukari.

You're free to do any kind of voice.

NOTE: I would like for Miruchi and Yuka to be voiced by actual kids (preferably pre-pubescent) because I find it to be more fitting, so if you know anyone who would be good for the part (like a family relative, or something), please let them know if they are interested. Remember, always keep their interests in mind. We don't want anyone exploiting them like how the parents of Ryan's World did to Ryan.

ABOUT THE CHARACTER

Naomi Kimura is married to Kimura, a teacher at the high school where the story of Azumanga Daioh is set, and they have a daughter together. The wife's given name is unknown. She is depicted, in Japanese terms, as a stereotypical beauty, having long wavy hair (other examples of this stereotype to be found in anime include Sailor Neptune and Nadeshiko Kinomoto from Cardcaptor Sakura). The incongruity of the unwholesome Kimura being married to such a beautiful (and evidently wholesome) woman is used as a humorous device, with her appearances invariably leading to bemusement and speculation amongst the other characters, who are uncertain whether they ought to conclude that she is a saint to accept him with all his flaws, or an idiot. Like Kimura, she recycles frequently. She seems to have a kind and ditzy personality, such as when she chases a tin can until she hits her head on a lamp-post. She also refers to Kimura's lunch as the "Love Wife Bento (ラブワイフ弁当 Rabu Waifu Bento)", like her husband does, and when her picture is first seen by Tomo et al., Kimura refers to her as "Mai Waifu" (my wife). In the anime, when asked flat out by Tomo why she likes Kimura she responds that she likes how he's cool and good-looking, causing the girls to think she has no taste. She then explains that his style of cool is just currently out of style, comparing it to how '70s trousers are coming back in fashion, having been out of fashion for around 30 years. Tomo, Yomi, and Osaka all internally think that it's a bad and inaccurate parallel, and that she essentially has strange taste.

ABOUT THE CHARACTER

Kimi Kimura is a cute little girl who is the daughter of Kimura-sensei. She is a victim of Kimura-sensei's creepy behavior, and expects him to have some respect to his students and her. Like Kaorin, she likes to expose Kimura-sensei for being a pedophiliac and expects better morals from him.

ABOUT THE CHARACTER

 Eiko Hayasaki is an old acquaintance of Nyamo and Yukari's, probably from their student days. Eiko has gone on to become a successful businesswoman who impresses the teachers with how grown-up she seems, in contrast to them. Eiko is a chief executive officer who offers Nyamo a job as a gym instructor at her company, a job which would have given Nyamo far greater income, but she turns it down because she loves her current job. Eiko met with the teachers at a restaurant (she seems to have arranged the set-up with Yukari) and also invited some male co-workers of hers to join them and it went quite well, though Yukari ended up scaring them away and the teachers concluded that they might have been too childish for the men. Eiko is rather pleasant and polite in personality, with a formal manner of speech. She has medium-length light brown, wavy hair and her face is never fully shown, except from the side and at a distance, for reasons unknown.

ABOUT THE CHARACTER

Kazumi is Kaorin's mother. She is kind of naggy and a bit of a bitch, but Kaorin is used to it. She also runs a YouTube channel called "Kazumi's Film Klub," where she reacts to various movies and TV Shows. Kazumi is also a sellout and she does sponsored content from even the most greedy corporations.

ABOUT THE CHARACTER

Asuka Kasuga is Osaka's mother who Osaka takes after. Like Osaka, Asuka is slow and spacey, but the only difference is that she's a little more mature. She is also an actress who has starred in just about anything, kinda like Samuel L Jackson or in this case, Dana Plato (until Plato bought the farm after an overdose). She's also very protective, especially after her alcoholic ex-husband left.

Feel free to come up with your own voice for her. The only direction is to do a southern accent, but a different southern accent than Osaka (who has a Texan accent).

ABOUT THE CHARACTER

Tanya Takino (nee Williams) is Tomo's mom who was born in Atlantic City, New Jersey, and moved to Tokyo with Tomo's Dad, Takeshi, due to an engagement. Tanya is a no nonsense woman, and knows how to set Tomo, Takeshi, and Victoria, Tomo's younger sister straight, but she does it in a nagging, anti-fun way (At least to the Takinos (besides Tadano). She actually defends Tadano, even though he's an internet troll and is very mean.

ABOUT THE CHARACTER

Narayuki "Yuki" Nishimura is a troubled boy who seems to be plagued by bad luck wherever he goes. When he tried to embrace a positive attitude and helps others, Yukari-sensei stole his bike. When he tried to prove his sportsmanship in Uta-Garuta and lost five times, he unwillingly became known to everyone as "Yuki," a childhood nickname. Chronically late to class, he's not really the best student let alone does he always make for good company given his short temper and moody attitude, but at his core, he just wants attitude.

ABOUT THE CHARACTER

Misao Yoshimura is the stern music teacher of Yomi, Tomo, Chiyo, Sakaki, Osaka, and Kagura, the six main protagonists of the anime. Her musical background comes from her experience as a music composer, sound designer, and multi-instrumentalist, and is an AVID fan of all genres of music (except modern mainstream rap). She is known for having the largest collection of instruments in the whole school county, including some of the rarest, most exotic instruments. She's also a found sound enthusiast, and believes that you can make an instrument out of anything.

ABOUT THE CHARACTER 

Uma Natsume and Hana Shiraishi are quite the dynamic duo. They're a tomboy/girly girl pair just like Ami and Yumi from Hi Hi Puffy AmiYumi, Raven and Starfire from Teen Titans, and Sam and Cat. Uma (the girly girl) is a cheery, happy-go-lucky, bubbly student, and a girl next door. Like Sakaki, she adores cute stuff (like cats, unicorns, slice of life anime, etc.), and likes to do various arts and crafts. Uma also a subject to some wacky situations given the manic nature of Yukari-sensei's class, and is often subject to slapstick, physical comedy, and other things that could harm her, making her kind of a butt of the joke. Hana (The tomboy) on the other hand, is sarcastic, and kind of a smart-ass. She's more into the more edgy stuff (like Green Day, Imagine Dragons, action movies, horror, action anime, etc.), and likes to play the electric guitar. She often likes to make corny dad jokes, play games, surf the internet, does lacrosse and other sports, and etc.

Here's where you audition to play the toy piano. The toy piano, also known as the kinderklavier (child's keyboard), is a small piano-like musical instrument. Most modern toy pianos use round metal rods, and the most famous example of a dedicated composition for the instrument is the "Suite for Toy Piano" (1948) by John Cage. A vintage toy piano is preferable in this case.

Here's where you audition to play the recorder. The recorder is a family of woodwind musical instruments in the group known as internal duct flutes: flutes with a whistle mouthpiece, also known as fipple flutes. A recorder can be distinguished from other duct flutes by the presence of a thumb-hole for the upper hand and seven finger-holes: three for the upper hand and four for the lower. It is the most prominent duct flute in the western classical tradition.
