Woolgather is a story about true self, lucid dreaming, remembrance, transformation and finding purpose in the world of Gardenia - one that isn’t quite made for the ones who are a little more strange. Its universe has a form of magic only known to a certain kind of people, who (willingly or unwillingly) are able to take on animal forms and use logic defying, reality altering powers. There’s more to Gardenia than meets the eye - so find your third and join Memo on her adventure to find her lost parents and to prevent a grim future by the hands of the privileged divine.

Hi there! Decided to make the jump here for a dream project I've been working on. Let's see what comes from it! 🧡

I've been busy putting together a story called Woolgather, which I'm hoping to be able to make into an animated pilot some day if I'm lucky (or a video game if I'm even luckier)! For the time being, I'll be focusing on creating short animations starring my characters. I'm looking for some voice actors for the characters I won't be able to provide with a voice myself.

For the time being, this is unpaid work. In the future, it might turn into paid work for longer animations and when I can afford to provide proper compensation to the voice actors. Pay will start low and increase according to budget.

  • Melati/Memo's VA has been chosen!

    Hi everyone!

    Thanks so much for auditioning for Melati/Memo (will refer to her as Memo from here on out)!

    There were more people interested in becoming Memo than I thought there would be. I loved everyone's take on the character - there were even some improvised lines and creative accents in there! You all did great, but in the end, I'm only able to choose one of you.

    I've gone through the auditions for Memo yesterday and shortlisted some actors. After a long night's sleep and careful consideration, I've finally made a choice just now. The actor I chose should have received a DM from me.

    If you didn't get the role, don't fret! There's a chance I thought your audition was great, but I felt your voice type didn't quite match Memo. I might contact you personally in the future for a different role! 🧡

  • Please deliver your audio files in ABC format

  • Feel free to try some different tones of voice and/or accents you feel would fit her

  • Improv is OK, but not required

  • Singing skill optional (I hope to write some musical numbers in the future)

  • If you get picked for the role, I will ask you if it's okay for me to use the lines you recorded for the audition, or if you'd like to redo them. I could also end up changing the lines, or even write an entirely new idea for the animation after the deadline. I'm basically looking for a good vocal and personality fit for her - not a perfect line delivery. =)


= Character Description =


Melati Moore is 21 years old, and the main character of Woolgather. Orphaned in times of war at the age of 3, she lives in the city of Pinea, right above the local flower shop she inherited from her late parents (and run by her grandmother). The only thing left from her childhood belongings is a large rabbit plushie with a music box inside its head, which she somehow feels unsafe without and prefers to always carry around with her. She has her head in the clouds, but she has a surprising knack for recalling details in the past... yet struggles to recall someone's name mere moments after meeting them.


She is obsessed with journaling/practicing (lucid) dreams, as well as (were)wolves. She finds it incredibly difficult to resist oversharing once these topics are brought up. Aside from this, she enjoys drawing and spending time with her best friend!


Eventually, Melati will be able to transform into her Aberrant form, which is a sheep who'll be nicknamed Memo!

  • Feminine, medium to lower range

  • Personality: nervous, introverted, airheaded, chaotic, overthinks a lot, and she has trouble expressing herself outside of her wild imagination. Her social skills are left wanting, but she can be surprisingly expressive and passionate about her friends and interests!
