Project Overview
Welcome to Wish Upon!
Wish Upon is a fantasy Minecraft roleplay series following a girl named Azrael and her group of friends as they make their way through college in a world where magic is completely normal! From classes and annoying assignments to magic, relationships, drama, and whatever random situation they somehow get themselves into, the series mainly follows the group as they grow up and figure out what they want to do with their lives.
The world of Wish Upon is filled with all kinds of magic, magical creatures, and different types of people, but magic isn't really seen as anything unusual. It's just another part of life! Because of this, the series is less about "discovering magic" and more about seeing how magic fits into normal everyday situations.
At its core, Wish Upon is meant to be a fun, character-focused series about friendship, growing up, found family, and making memories with the people around you. There will be plenty of comedy and slice-of-life moments, but the series will also have more serious storylines, romance, drama, mysteries, and bigger adventures as it goes on.
This is a long-term passion project, so I'm looking for people who are excited about the series and want to help bring its characters and world to life! Whether you're auditioning as a voice actor or interested in helping behind the scenes, I hope Wish Upon can be a project where everyone involved can have fun, meet new people, and create something we're proud of together!

REQUIREMENTS
Thank you for being interested in Wish Upon! Before auditioning or applying for the project, please read through these requirements!
Voice Actors must be 18+. Since voice actors will be working closely with the cast, as well as involved with in character relationships and bold topics , I am only accepting VAs who are 18 or older.
All other roles must be 16+. This includes builders, body actors, artists, editors, writers, modelers, and other behind-the-scenes positions.
Please have Discord! Discord will be our main place for communication, announcements, scripts, recording information, and general project updates.
Leave your Discord username OR email in your audition/application description. This gives me a way to contact you if you are accepted for a role. Please don't post any other personal information.
Please have a decent microphone if you're auditioning for a voice acting role. It doesn't need to be super expensive or professional, but your audio should be clear and understandable without a lot of background noise.
Please be willing to stick around! Wish Upon is planned as a long-term series with multiple stories and seasons, so some characters may return frequently. You don't have to dedicate your entire life to the project, obviously, but please keep the long-term nature of the series in mind when auditioning!
Most importantly, have fun! This is a passion project. While I want everyone to take their roles seriously, I also want the cast and crew to actually enjoy creating the series together.
ABOUT THE CREATOR
Hi! I'm Azrael Jester, the creator and director of Wish Upon and the person behind Starbound Studios. I'm a storyteller and content creator who loves Minecraft, VRChat, character design, worldbuilding, roleplay, and honestly just creating way too many characters and stories.
I've always really liked story-based Minecraft roleplays and grew up watching Aphmau, so a lot of my series is inspired off of what she gave me the hope as a kid to do and to create a world thats my own
I'm definitely still learning as I go, and I'm not expecting this project to be some massive professional production. I mainly want to build a group of creative people who are excited about the story and want to make something fun together. I want Wish Upon to be something that the cast and crew can look back on and say, "Yeah, I helped make that!"

Voice Actor
Alex is chill and laid-back, the kind of person who’s mostly here for the vibes, the views, and whatever adventure comes his way. His easygoing and welcoming personality makes him someone everyone feels comfortable talking to, whether they need advice, a listening ear, or just someone to hang out with. Despite his relaxed nature, Alex isn’t afraid to stand his ground when confrontation arises, especially when it comes to defending his friends and the people he cares about.

Voice Actor
Lance is a kind-hearted and generous guy who, despite coming from a wealthy background, never lets money or status affect the way he treats others. He’s naturally sweet and considerate, often going out of his way to make people feel welcomed and appreciated without expecting anything in return. A general charmer with an effortless confidence, Lance has a way with words and a warm personality that makes it incredibly easy for him to win people over. He is Azrael's arranged marriage partner and first childhood friend

Alize is fun, bubbly, and full of positive energy, especially when she’s around her friends and family, always ready to joke around or bring some excitement into the room. She’s usually all about good vibes and having fun, but the second someone she cares about is treated badly, that cheerful personality can turn surprisingly intense. Alize isn’t afraid to step up and defend her people, and while she can get a little dramatic or over-the-top about it, it always comes from a place of genuine love and loyalty.

(Completely exaggerating the situation for comedic effect.) “This is a disaster! A tragedy! Possibly the worst thing that has ever happened to me—and nobody better say I’m being dramatic!”

The classic stereotype of Goth, not the new gen ones, a REAL Goth. Likes alone time to concentrate on herself, she does care deeply for some people but she hides it, she’s very fond of spells and magic things alike, just don’t mess with her… She could end up casting a spell on you, or even a curse.

(A rare moment where her composed personality breaks and she's genuinely fascinated.) “Wait—is that an original spellbook? Give me that! Do you have any idea how rare this is?”

She’s good vibes and very energetic, she gives that energizing energy and she’s one of the boys when she needs to! But she’s always attending for the girls as well, she’s very into sports and her athleticism is off the charts! Just don’t mess with her, she could give you a black eye.

(His warmth disappears. Controlled and confident rather than loud.) “My kindness was not permission for you to disrespect me. I suggest you remember that.”

Blake is a little rough around the edges, carrying herself with a tough, tomboyish demeanor and an independent attitude shaped by having to make the most of what she had growing up. Coming from a low-income background, she earned her place at school through a scholarship and takes pride in everything she’s worked for, even if she sometimes struggles to accept help from others. While gaining her trust isn’t always easy, once someone has it, Blake is fiercely loyal and protective, never hesitating to stand beside the people she considers family.

(Quiet and slightly awkward—being openly affectionate isn't her strong suit.) “Just… don’t make a big deal out of it, okay? You’re important to me. That’s all.”

James is cold, calculated, and extremely observant, preferring to study a room and the people inside it before deciding exactly how he wants to approach a situation. He rarely does anything without a reason, paying close attention to people’s personalities, relationships, and weaknesses so he can figure out what benefits him most, even if that means pretending to be someone’s friend for a while. James ultimately cares about himself above everyone else, and while he can appear calm, charming, or even helpful when necessary, nearly every choice he makes has an ulterior motive behind it—and he has no problem leaving someone behind the moment they stop being useful.

(No dramatic laughter or shouting—just complete honesty.) “You thought I was helping you? No. You were useful to me. There's a difference.”

Sereena is confident, bossy, and used to getting exactly what she wants, carrying herself like she owns every room she walks into whether anyone agrees with her or not. As one of James’ lackeys, she uses her crafty nature and social connections to keep him informed, somehow hearing rumors, secrets, and important information before they even reach the people involved, though she makes it very clear that she isn’t anyone’s mindless follower. Sereena is an unapologetic diva who knows her worth and carries herself with empowering confidence, making her the perfect social weapon for James—she can gather information, influence people, and stir up trouble while looking fabulous doing it.

(Giving someone surprisingly sincere advice.) “Stop making yourself smaller just because somebody else is intimidated by you. Take up space. Let them be uncomfortable.”

Jaxon is impulsive, confrontational, and notoriously hot-headed, often acting before thinking because causing trouble and fighting for what he needed became a survival tactic long before he ever arrived at college. Coming from a difficult background, he learned that playing innocent in front of authority figures could keep him out of serious consequences, so around staff he’s quick to claim self-defense, downplay situations, and make himself seem like the unfortunate student who was simply pushed too far. Behind closed doors, however, Jaxon is far more intimidating and unpredictable than he lets on, willingly doing the dirty work James would rather keep his own hands clean while remaining fiercely determined to protect the education and opportunities he fought so hard to obtain.

(A rare moment where someone hits a nerve. He immediately becomes guarded.) “You think I came this far just to lose everything now? I fought for my place here. Nobody’s taking that from me.”
(Arguing with James after ignoring his instructions.) “Yeah, yeah, I know—you had a plan. Maybe next time make one that doesn’t involve me standing around doing nothing.”
