Wings of Fire: The Dragonet Prophecy Audiobook Casting Call
Project Overview
Hello there! I am Raegan, and I come from SilkWing Studios! We are looking to start a audiobook of the young adult series called ‘Wings of Fire”.
About This Project
SilkWing Studios aims to produce a semi-professional audiobook of the young adult series, Wings of Fire. This project is specifically for gathering voice actors for the first book in the series, The Dragonet Prophecy.
We will also be doing improv videos/skits besides the audiobooks and posting them on our youtube channel.
Information about Auditoning
- This is a semi-professional and long-term project. Do not audition if you are not willing to abide by this.
- Please be 13+.
- Please have discord, as we will be using a server to communicate among the team.
- You do not need to understand or know the books, but we encourage you to look up the series if you do get casted!
- Please have good audio quality. It doesn’t matter what kind of microphone or setup you have, we just want to have minimal to no background noise and be able to hear and comprehend your voice clearly.
- The voice references are only there for you to understand what kind of voice we are looking for for the character as they don’t have canon voices, you don’t have to sound exactly like the voice reference. We welcome original takes!
- Like stated in the About the Project section, this is likely to include improv with other videos on our channel. If you don't understand the characters, that is okay! We will be providing you with character descriptions if needed and their wiki pages so you can read about them.
- Have fun! Don’t be afraid to audition :)

Clay is an male MudWing dragonet and the main protagonist of The Dragonet Prophecy. He is one of the dragonets of destiny.
Clay is often viewed by others as meek and thick skulled, but he is truly thoughtful, loyal, and sweet. He is always there for his friends, and ‘loves them so deeply that he is willing to die for them.’ Despite him seeming weak, he is actually quite strong when he needs to be and always loyal. He is described by Peril as a ‘torch that never will go out, burning clear all night long.

[Explaining] "That’s not how I am. No matter what happened when I hatched. I can’t feel this killer inside me that’s supposed to be there. Maybe that’s what the prophecy is about. Maybe the dragonets are supposed to show everyone how to get along without a lot of killing.”

Tsunami is an female SeaWing dragonet and the main protagonist of The Lost Heir. She is one of the dragonets of destiny.
Tsunami is brave and outspoken, yet bossy and impulsive. The other Dragonets of Destiny sometimes believe she is annoying due to her bossiness. Yet, her initiative to take charge makes her brave. She isn’t afraid to stand up to Queen Scarlet when the Dragonets of Destiny are held captive by her.

Glory is an female RainWing dragonet and the main protagonist of The Hidden Kingdom. She is one of the dragonets of destiny.
Glory is often described as teasing and sarcastic, yet snide and intelligent. During the earlier books, most see her as lazy and rude due to her being a RainWing. However, Glory is smarter then most give her credit for. She isn't afraid to be blunt and mean, and has a fierce tongue.

Starflight is an male NightWing dragonet and the main protagonist of The Dark Secret. He is one of the dragonets of destiny.
Starflight is described as an annoying know-it-all, but is also anxious and sensible. When the dragonets escape the cave they’ve lived in their entire lives, Starflight brings all of his scrolls instead of leaving them behind - much to the annoyance of Tsunami.

[Smart, explaining] “No one knows what the scavenger did with the sand dragon treasure. Among other things, he stole the Lazulite Dragon, the gold SandWing scepter, and the Eye of Onyx, which had been in the SandWing treasury for hundreds of years.”
[Protesting] “We might need them. They’ll tell us what’s safe to eat and all the different tribal customs and how to fly in bad weather and —"

Peril is a female SkyWing dragonet. She hatched with a dangerous condition known as firescales, and serves as Scarlet’s royal champion in the SkyWing Arena until the events of The Dragonet Prophecy
Peril is socially inept and has gone through years of being manipulated by Queen Scarlet. She views killing other dragons in the arena as just the way she has to be, and a routine. Much like those dragons are just checklists for her. She hasn’t known anything but being the ‘brutal killer’ that Scarlet tells her she has to be.

[Brave, defiant] “I call upon the tradition of the Champion's Shield, It says that the queen’s champion may stand forth for any dragon sentenced to execution. If I can defeat the next dragon you want me to fight, you must let her go free. I want to stand for my mother.”

Tsunami took a threatening step toward Kestrel, but before she could say anything, the large red dragon spread her wings and launched herself into the sky. She banked over the lake and flew off to the west without looking back.
Sand that was sticky with blood clumped between Clay’s talons. The sun beat down, bright and hot in his eyes. He paced around the arena, thinking. Was there any way out of this?
Tsunami lifted her chin and stared straight into Queen Scarlet’s eyes. With a wrench of her talons, she snapped Gill’s neck in one clean break. The expression on her face said, all too clearly, 'I’m imagining this is you.'
