Wickwood Mythical Academy - ANIMATED SERIES
Project Overview
Welcome to Wickwood Mythical Academy!
The school for magic is open for another year, taking in an entirely new student body! As the most prestigious magic school of its kind, Wickwood has a reputation for following traditions and setting precedents; and this year, the school is making some groundbreaking changes. Not only have they hired the first human teacher in magic history, Mr. Andrew Ayken, but they've enrolled four new human students — the second class ever!
Follow Mr. Ayken's class of ten unique students as they experience the magic of this brand-new world. Learn spells, hexes, and potions with extraordinary (though strange) teachers; meet all kinds of curious individuals, good and evil; and uncover the secrets and mysteries behind Wickwood and the world around it — all while on the brink of war!

Auditioning
DISCLAIMER: Characters marked with a ✩ are considered urgent and will be cast as soon as possible! These characters are required for a series trailer that’s currently a WIP; other characters will remain open until they’re ready to be cast.
Because this project will become paid once it starts collecting revenue, we ask that only 16+ individuals audition!
Please make your audition as nice as it can be! This includes using a quality microphone and avoiding things like peaking/clipping, background noise, echoing, lip smacks, whistle "s"s, or "whisper yelling" (make sure you're an adequate distance from the microphone to authentically yell if you need to). We ask for these things because we want to hear you at your best!
Please include a way to contact you in your submission! Our main method will be Discord, via the public project server linked above.
We'd like to have representation from around the world in this series, so don't hesitate to show us what accents you can do!
Please avoid overly cartoony/anime voices — however, don't be afraid to make strong choices!
We encourage you to audition for as many roles as you can! This casting call will be reposted with new roles as the show needs them, so the more we hear from you the better. If you aren’t cast right away, this doesn’t mean you won’t be used in the future!
When you are logged in, you can comment, add submissions, create projects, upvote, search open roles, and way more. Login here.

Deadline Extended to 3/28/21
We've received such wonderful auditions so far, but we're still having a little difficulty finding some characters' voices. I encourage you if you have only auditioned for one or two roles to please try as many as you can, you never know what might click. -
Clara role added
As an update, the role of Clara has just been reopened for casting! This is a lead role and is one that we're looking to cast ASAP, so don't miss your chance to audition!
Headmaster of Wickwood Mythical Academy, and leader of the Magic Council, Soran is a VERY important figure in the world. With six wings and six eyes, Soran can be quite intimidating with his almost-angel-like appearance. But despite his appearance, Soran is lovable and friendly, compassionate to a fault, and a big old softie. Centuries old but ageless, Soran sounds like a god in most aspects; but he can be quite emotionally vulnerable, especially with those he trusts.
Soran speaks in a clear, refined tone, but can be whimsical and affectionate. His tone is low, clean, and smooth. Any accents or editing effects can be put on your auditions, but it's requested you leave a clean, unedited take as well so we can hear what you sound like. Any accents or editing should not hinder your tone quality or make your voice unintelligible.
(Proud) "Our students go on to shape the future for all magic-kind, and even now we are working to ensure that our students’ learning environment promotes creativity, leadership, and, above all, safety."
(Fatherly) "I knew your uncle, back when he attended Wickwood. A bright young man. Very talented in brewing. You take after him more than I thought you would, given your transcript."
(Stern) "...Noir, if that class gets into trouble, or danger, or anything, I need you to protect them. I know this is a lot to ask of you, especially after... your past. But I trust you more than anyone else to watch them."
The brewing/potions teacher at Wickwood. Cardamom is a cat morphagus, capable of changing between both a humanoid form and a feline one, though she prefers to be a cat above all else. She is strict and quick-witted, but polite and friendly. She has six children and definitely acts like it -- with how motherly she is to her students, they might as well be her children too.
Cardamom's voice is clear and clean. Any accent can be used in her audition as long as she is easy to understand. She speaks in a friendly, airy tone, but can get low and snippy when she is upset. She speaks to the classes using telepathy, so a faint echo may be applied to her voice, but not enough to hinder the audition's quality.
(Quick, slightly panicked) "Aliya-!! Be careful, little one, you're going to fall off the counter again!"
(Calm, focused) "Brewing is broken into two parts: Components and activators. Components make up the intent of the brew, while activators give them the power to do what it is that the potion is intended to."
(Low, stern) "I can not in good conscience allow you to let a child, let alone a human child who is not accustomed to magic in any way, message the class chatroom. Not only is it strictly unprofessional, but your little sibling could say something that could endanger you. I understand the enthusiasm, but it is best not to take these risks."
Dr. Apia Fortuna is one of the teachers at Wickwood. He is a scientist first and foremost, and the discoverer of the newest type of magic to be taught at Wickwood: Apimancy (bee magic.) He has a lot of beelike attributes due to his species. In terms of personality, Apia is an eccentric genius. He knows a lot and has worked very hard to prove his knowledge. He tries to be safe, but it doesn't always work out. Apia has had a bad past that tangles him in a web of... questionable people. But he's here at Wickwood to make a fresh start and erase the past.
He speaks in a wide range of ways, from very quick and introspective to low and pondering, but generally tends to consistently keep an even and almost tired tone.
(Distracted, quick) "Now, if I did the math correctly, which is somewhat unlikely since I got very little sleep, but if I did, this should be totally safe."
(Passionate, focused) "The hypomandrake is my own specially bred mandrake. Its cry is supposed to make those who hear it alert and productive. It's a work in progress, currently -- its cries only render you unconscious for 48 hours, a 20-hour difference from its predecessor. I'm making quite a lot of progress, I believe."
(Offended, avoidant) "My past is none of your business, Detective Phantaze. In fact, it's rather unprofessional of you to ask. I've got nothing to hide. I was picked by Soran himself for this position."
The fourth human student of the new Wickwood year. Alistor is cold and gives off the appearance of emotionlessness quite frequently. He is a skilled fighter and quite good with a knife, and becomes a very big member of the dueling club. He leads a posse of troublemakers who tend to give Ayken's class a hard time. If he cannot solve a situation with words, his fists and knife should do the job.
Alistor is fluent in English, Russian, and German.
Alistor speaks in short, blunt sentences. He speaks genuinely but sounds sarcastic or emotionless oftentimes. He is terse and to-the-point.
(Authoritative) "Christa, just drop it. They're not worth the hassle."
(Cold, a little insulted.) "...I don't cheat. Sometimes I play dirty, but I'm not a cheater."
(Annoyed) "...What you want is war. I'm just looking for something to relieve the boredom, not to join some stupid cult against my own kind. Eat a brick."
Zinc is Cobalt's older brother and a member of Alistor's group. He is a troublemaker and a pretty strong physical fighter, but pretty easily scared and even more easily outsmarted. Zinc was previously in charge of Alistor's group before the latter took control of it by beating him in a fight. He is pretty headstrong and stubborn, and won't take no for an answer. He likes to make fun of his little brother for his insecurity and shyness.
Zinc speaks in a loud, powerful, and pointlessly aggressive tone of voice. He sounds and feels like he's constantly trying to start a fight.
(Kinda pissy) "What the fuck do you think you're looking at? You think you're hot shit?"
(Hostile) "...Alistor. I don't give a fuck what you think you're doin' with this group, but I do what I want. You don't have any fuckin' power over me. You're just a human."
(Playful, cruel) "C'mon, Cobalt, smile a little bit. It's just a human kid gettin' their just desserts, man. It's what they deserve, for fuckin' with us. You understand, don'tcha?"
Marshall Dichot is the father of Draco, one of the students in Ayken's class. Marshall is a wyrm and runs a very powerful crime gang that dominates Chicago. He is stern and intimidating and gives off very powerful energy. He doesn't take flack from anyone.
His voice is low and smooth, almost suave. He will not take no for an answer.
(Irritated) "You’re too mouthy for your own good, Miss Chester."
(Authoritative, more of an order than a request) "...Son. Keep an eye on her for me, won't you?"
(Intimidating, stern, angry) "I laid this out plain and simple for you, Asher: You do your job, your family gets to keep living. I made it very, VERY clear. And you conspire to LEAVE? Do you think you can just RUN AWAY in the dark of night and be done with us? Of course, you can't; and your son paid that consequence. Don't make me kill your daughter too."
Puck is a teacher at Wickwood Mythical Academy. He is the teacher in charge of educating the students about magical flora and fauna. He knows an absolutely absurd amount about his craft and is very passionate and friendly. He is also quite terribly nervous, and a bit on the skittish side when facing unfamiliar species. However, when facing creatures he is accustomed to (like even the most threatening magical beasts), he is comfortable and confident. People are a lot more varying than animals, however, so he generally is nervous around them.
Puck speaks with a quiet, nervous voice (if you want a reference for what sort of tone we were originally thinking for Puck, see the "LEMONS" short in our previous works. That was a beta concept for Puck's voice done by one of our writers. I encourage you to try to step away from that tone, though, and try to make something new.)
(Nervous) "Oh-!! Apia, you startled me. Please stop taking the mandrakes. I am trying to take care of them. Apia. Apia! S-stop taking the mandrakes!!"
(Cheerful, bright) "Look at you. I've never seen anything like you before! You're the size of a beagle!! But you're a bee! What ARE you? You said you bred this, Apia?"
(Soft, a little shy) "Oh- yeah, um...I raised these myself. I- I raised all of the magical beasts on campus. Except for...two, but...Soran takes care of them, anyway, so...Uhm...I guess it doesn't really matter if I raised them or if he did, because he's the only one who ever really sees them anyway. I take care of everything else, though."
Shen and Shem are identical twin teachers at Wickwood. They teach dueling -- namely, Shen teaches offensive spells and Shem teaches defensive spells. However, the two of them can fuse together and become Shemn, a skilled duelist who is known for their skill throughout the world.
Shem and Shen have the exact same voice, but should sound slightly different- namely in that Shen should be louder and more angry/aggressive than Shem, who is quieter and softer-spoken. If you want to try speaking in completely different voices, note that Shen is more masculine aligned than Shem, and Shemn is androgynous and agender. Alternatively, if you wish to edit your audio, Shen has a lower-pitched voice than Shem. Shemn should sound like the two of them combined - be it just your ordinary speaking voice or multiple takes overlapping each other. If you choose to edit, please leave a clean take so we can hear your voice without effects as well.
(Shen) (Stern) "No! No! You're doing it all wrong! You need to stand with your hips wide, your feet ready to move at any moment!"
(Shem) (Motherly) "Oh, be careful! If you lean too far back, you're going to fall over, and they can just hit you with an attack spell and it's over."
(Shemn) (Joyful) "Oh, this is a great day indeed! You see, today is the day of the Starlight Festival! There will be a grand dueling tournament today, and all of our precious club members are going to participate. We are so terribly excited."
Noir Phantaze is a detective and private investigator that works for the Magic Council. He was recently employed at Wickwood to ensure the safety of the students, as well as prevent any incidents parallel to the deaths of students during Ayken's school year. One of the last of a mysterious race of magic-folk called Vexan, Noir has sacrificed a lot in order to focus on his work. He is a perfectionist that struggles with reading his own emotions and the emotions of others.
He speaks in a low, almost sad-sounding voice. If you want to use effects, his voice might have a slightly metallic/almost robotic sound to it (though this is not necessary.)
(Solemn) "...I know you've lost a lot. I'm terribly sorry that this had to happen to you a third time. But that does not excuse you from the law. You have a son now; you have to set a good example for him."
(In pain) "It's fine. The- the metal implants on my ear still burn. They always have, it's...it's a Vexan thing, I think."
(Professional) "Dr. Fortuna, your record does NOT agree with you right now. I don't care if you say you've changed, you're still a suspect for this disappearance."
Polix is Soran's advisor at Wickwood. He is generally a bit biased against humans and can be strict. He wants what's best for the students. Except for the human ones, which he generally...doesn't think belong in a magical academy. He is also Noir's adoptive father and is one of the minor antagonists in the series.
He speaks in a posh, pompous tone, and has an altogether holier-than-thou feeling to him.
(Bitter, spiteful) "Watch your step, Caelum. You're lucky you even got here, with YOUR high school transcript."
(Resigned, almost pitying) "Look at you. You have so much potential. You could be a teacher, or even a member of the Council if you wanted...but you waste your time meddling with human ilk."
(Angry, authoritative) "Noir. Does a good detective waste his time crying over casualties? He does not. I have respected your decisions in your youth, but this has come too far. Do not waste your time on the death of a single girl."
One of the teachers at Wickwood. Vix teaches magical history, and is altogether a bit strict. She is one of the far less endearing teachers. She seems to dislike the humans but honestly just dislikes every student. Bar her own, which are her favorites. She is a widow and has a son. She can be quite demanding with what she expects out of her class, but generally only wants HER class to succeed. She pushes her class but believes every other class is a lost cause. Especially Ayken's.
She sounds posh. She is a figure of authority, with a voice somewhat comparable to Dolores Umbridge from Harry Potter.
(Snooty) "If I were you, I'd keep a close eye on your students, Mr. Ayken."
(Irritated) "I'm sorry that we can't all be mothers of six with happy families and a busy chef for a husband, Cardamom. Some of us have jobs, responsibilities, and things to do. I can see why your students are so behind on their history work. And don't think I don't hear you calling me 'ms. piss' after hours. I've already spoken to Soran about it."
(Pleased, passive aggressive) "...Very well done, Zinc. You're mastering those offensive spells quite quickly. Pretty soon, you'll be able to take on Shemn themself. You may have to teach Alistor a thing or two about your stance."
Christa is a member of Alistor's group and a loud one at that. She didn't get in on any kind of scholarship, but she's still a pretty decent spellcaster and isn't afraid to remind people of that. She finds a lot of entertainment in getting under people's skin and pissing them off, and she even lightheartedly calls herself out on her sexual deviancy.
Her voice concept was Penelope Scott, so feel free to use that as inspiration.
(Lighthearted) "Hey, Al. Do you think that maybe this time we can do something a little more fun than just TALKING about how we're gonna kick their ass? When do we ACTUALLY get to kick their ass?"
(Bored) "Ughhh...Ms. Viiiiiix...can we do something fun now? I'm bored. History is boring."
(Angry, aggressive) "Oh, is that so? You really think that you're something, aren't you. You have no idea what the fuck I'm gonna do to you, kid. So shut your mouth, stop your bitching, and do what I fucking asked you to, or I'm going to have to get rough, and the only person who likes when I get rough is me, so watch your goddamn step."
Cobalt is an 18-year-old dragon. He is a little socially awkward and would much prefer to be left alone. He’s part of Alistor's group of troublemakers, but he would really much prefer the company of himself. His older brother is Zinc, who bullies him ceaselessly. He is very shy, but very friendly.
Talks in a whispery sort of voice. A bit skittish.
(Nervous) “Nonono! It’s okay- I didn’t- think anyone would be here. I can leave, if you need...”
(Frightened, upset) "Zinc...stop. Leave them alone, please, they didn't do anything to you..."
(Quiet, unsure.) "...I...don't think I'm a good person. I don't hang out with...the best people. I don't make a lot of good choices. I- I kind of just want to graduate and then get out of here. My grades got me in, but...I'm so tired of my brother's friends..." (a beat.) "W-wait, I'm so sorry, I didn't realize I was rambling..."
Plus is a member of Alistor's group. He is cunning and smart but plays dirty to the extreme. He's skilled with potions and dueling, and despite his lack of physical strength, he plays to his advantage by mastering legal and illegal dueling spells and using them. As one of Vix's students, and one of her favorites, he gets away with quite a lot that would normally get him kicked out. He smokes and a lot of students joke about Plus being a drug lord.
He speaks in a tired, but smug tone of voice. He is cocky and knows what he wants and exactly how to get it.
(Bored) "...Yeah, yeah. I get it Al, don't kill the kid but give him a hard time. It's a dueling club, you KNOW how it's gonna go. I'm gonna kick his ass, and that's it."
(To a teacher, cocky.) "It's none of your business what I do outside of school. What if I don't wanna sleep in my dorm? What if I wanna go out and have fun with my friends for a night? Hmm? It's none of your business."
(In the middle of a fight, smug) "Oh, you're stronger than you look, rainbow. Maybe you did learn something from that ratty old Scorchstone place. I thought it just taught you how to abandon folks and cry about it."
(pronounced chee-yo)
Chillo is a student at Wickwood. He is in Cardamom's class and is very soft-spoken and nervous. As a hybrid morphagus, he has always been a little strange to look at, and he's very insecure about it. He doesn't talk much about his personal life, but he's very friendly to those around him, especially his friends Maisie and Oliver. Despite his friends, he likes to be alone. He gets bullied by Christa and is very easily startled. He has minor heart problems.
He is mostly quiet and shy, but in the right situations can get very loud. He has a nervous stutter, not a medical one, that comes and goes.
(Nervous) "Ollie, t-the rest of us can't climb that high... w-w..wait. Maisie what are you doing. MAISIE!"
(terrified) "H...hello...? Ollie...? Maisie....? ...uh...D-draco...? Are you guys there...? Hello?... It's so dark...I'd even take Christa at this point...hello..? Somebody...?"
(focused) "Y-you know, I've always dreamed of how to take down Alistor's gang. I-I know that sounds weird, but...hear me out. Christa has scoliosis, her spine curves inwards, she can only last so long. Brutus has really bad knees; one kick and you could knock him down. Plus's lungs are absolutely ruined from all the smoking, he can barely fight without a wand at all, uhm...Zinc's a coward and I'm not really that scared of him anymore. And..uhm..Cobalt is...Cobalt. I think he'd cry if I held my hand up. But it's just...Alistor. I don't know anything about him. I don't know what to do about him. It's like he's just playing with us..! ...oh...oh shoot, I'm sorry, I've totally freaked you out, haven't I?"
Maisie is a student at Wickwood, a member of Cardamom's class, and best friend to Chillo and Oliver. She is protective and fiery, with a very strong temper and even stronger physique. She doesn't take flack from anyone, especially Alistor's big gang of bullies. To those she knows, she is very kind and loves animals to the extreme. She enjoys the company of others, and loneliness makes her anxious.
She speaks with a strong, friendly voice, and sounds kind.
(Kind, friendly) "Come on, Chillo, let's just keep going. This isn't worth our time."
(Angry, protective) "Leave him alone, Christa! I swear to the gods, he didn't do anything to you! Don't touch a fucking hair on his head!"
(Friendly, tired) "Oh, yeah. I wanted to see if I could do something to slow the extinction of tree sprites. They're...It's kinda sad, really. They camouflage like leaves, so sprite-eating creatures don't target them, but now leaf-eating creatures do, and they're just... dying out."
Oliver is a student at Wickwood, best friends with Chillo and Maisie. He is a computer nerd and actually struggles with magic a lot. He enjoys it still, but it's clear that he was enrolled by his parents and not by his own wishes. But despite this, he's happy to be here and support his friends. As a spider morphagus, he is strictly carnivorous and a little intimidating if you don't know anything about him. In reality, he's just a little nerd and very friendly.
He speaks very casually around close friends but becomes very formal around authority or people he is afraid of. He has a very light German accent that gets stronger when he is under more distress.
(A little embarrassed) "Well, it's just programming, not actually magic. I mean, I can joke that it's magic, but...It's just computer stuff."
(Friendly, kind of pitying) "Maisie...I could've just helped you get up here, you didn't have to try to scale the wall...you hit your head. What did you think was going to happen?"
(Lighthearted) "Oh. Yeah, I can control all of my legs. It's kind of funny, I scared Zinc once by walking up behind him and poking him with one, then wiggling them all at him. He screamed like a baby and fainted. It was great. I've never felt more powerful."
One of the four original human students from Ayken's school year, Edric was the uncle of one of the new human students, Caelum. He was an outgoing and optimistic individual, skilled in brewing and extremely passionate about the incorporation of humans into the magic world. Post-graduation he worked as a spokesperson for humans' rights to learn magic, and he formally adopted Caelum when he was around 14. Shortly before Edric's death, he pulled some strings to get Caelum enrolled for the next class of human students. Because he's no longer living, he'll only show up in flashbacks.
He was born and raised in Kansas, so an accent is preferred. The amount of accent present doesn't really matter, but if you're capable of doing more or less, feel free to include multiple takes. He will appear in the show at both college-age and middle-aged.
(Friendly, lighthearted) "Howdy, strangers! From the sweat y'all are worked up into, I can probably guess we all got a bit of a challenge in our ceremonies, huh?"
(Serious, resolved) "Andrew, y'know we've gotta do somethin', don't ya? We can't just let him rot away in a cell for no good reason -- 'specially after everything he's done for us."
(Reassuring) "Hey, hey, it's alright. Everyone's got different talents. Just 'cause you aren't the best at one thing doesn't mean you're not amazin' at somethin' else. Y'ever hear of that fish in a tree? How did it go again... If a fish never grows wings-- nah, nah, it wasn't that... If ya' tell a fish that it can fly, it'll never learn to swim-- No, not that either... Well, y'get what I mean, right?"
Freya is one of the first four human students alongside Edric, Vixen, and Ayken. However, unlike Vixen and Edric, she is still alive and will have a slightly bigger role in future chapters of Wickwood. In this current chapter, she will mostly show up in flashbacks. Freya is determined and protective of her friends, and a massive advocate for the rights of humans to learn magic. After the deaths of two of her classmates and the mysterious event that gave Ayken a criminal record, Freya has only gotten more aggressive about it over time. She is passionate and has a lot of fight in her.
She isn't afraid to speak her mind, and talks in a clean, powerful voice. She should be easy to understand.
(Frustrated) "Do you think this is a joke, Andrew?! He hurt you! Why do you keep talking to him? He's just going to do it again, and you know it!"
(Passionate) "Soran is on our side because he doesn't want a goddamn war to start and wipe everyone out. Enough lives have been lost over this, and I agree with him! I don't want anyone else to fucking die over this! I went to school with him! I went to school with both of them, and I saw their bodies on the goddamn news! Fuck, Edric had a kid he was taking care of! Noir disappeared off the face of the earth for like three weeks after Vixen died, and he comes back with those weird-ass different eyes and doesn't remember or care about half of us! That's not fucking okay! Death fucks with people! I want it to stop!"
(Quiet, solemn) "...And if I free you, you'll help me make that happen...? I don't want to be wrong twice."
Zahiri is Relic's adoptive mother. She has a somewhat explosive personality and a very bad temper, especially snapping with threats of violence. She works on a farm and has the build to prove it- despite her short stature she is very buff and could throw a person. And probably has thrown a person.
She sounds akin to Toriel from Undertale but has some high-strung energy. She speaks with a southern accent.
(Frustrated) "You know what he did to you! He's just going to do the same fucking thing to you! Stop believing that he changed just because we forced you to leave! Dear gods above, you're such an arrogant fucking idiot who believes that everyone has some good in them. You can't change him."
(Soft, but frustrated) "Why are you here? Are you back just to gain my trust and then leave me again to my own self-destruction? If that's what you want, I'm not falling for it again."
(playful, teasing) "Hey. Got any fight in ya? The name's Zahiri. If ya need a bodyguard, I won't bite."
Moss is a zombie student at Scorchstone Academy, a less-renowned magic school for those who don't get into a school like Wickwood. He was friends with Liam and Batter before they were accepted into Wickwood. He is a positive person and a good friend. He is open about his feelings, but never one to throw blame. Moss is generally relaxed, but protective of his friends and caring.
He speaks with a slight rasp to his voice and talks sort of slower than most.
(calm, casual) "I mean, hey, you do you. I don't think this'll end well, but I'm not your dad, y'know?"
(agitated, dismissive) "You're the one who jumped to conclusions, man. I'm not responsible for the way you feel--you brought this on yourself."
(dejected, ashamed) "Just kinda wish things had been different, I guess. Nothin' I coulda done about it, but damn... shit sucks, man."
Aerlinne is a shopkeeper in Absintown, which is a town near Wickwood's campus. She owns the wand shop and has a companion named Puco, who is merely a pair of pants with sentience. She is a selkie and an Irishwoman. She is quite fond of the sea but spends most of her time on land and in her shop. She believes that every student deserves a wand that fits them in appearance and personality, no matter what species.
She speaks with an Irish accent that is somewhat thick, and speaks pretty quickly but is still easily understood.
(distracted) "Puco! Where did you put the marble wands? I can't find them anywhere."
(Bright, cheerful) "Oh, Relic! I know your wand, I can tell just from the look in your eyes! You've got a learner's heart, and a studious wand is best for a learner's heart. I've given this sort of wand to one person before: Your teacher, Mr. Ayken!"
(Insightful, cheerful) "I told you when I sold you your wand. It's meant for you, but you gotta learn how to control it."
Axil is the main antagonist of the first chapter of Wickwood. A roughly 22-year-old kindred-folk with a penchant for destruction, Axil's influence is passive at first but steadily grows more important over time. Raised by Tyle and having gone to Wickwood in the same years as End, he has a distaste for humanity learning magic -- though not against humanity itself. He believes in the ideals that Tyle taught him, but Axil has taken control of Tyle's insurgency and runs it as his own. A skilled magic user, Axil is something to be feared.
He sounds surprisingly charismatic, with a mellow voice that fits his age. He's very excited about this whole experience. But when he gets angry, he sounds capable of even the worst violence. After all, Tyle didn't get his scars from nowhere.
(Smug, mock pity) "Oh, Andrew... I bet you miss her now. Such a pitiful old man you are, plagued with grief. I'm sorry her death couldn't have been slower, so you could have seen it. It was quite the show."
(Threatening/Angry) "Don't try anything, or I'll curse you until you're left twitching and foaming at that mouth all tangled up in that stupid cloak."
(Crazed, passionate) "You can't see it? This was never about us. This is about them. I have a job to do. I am a soldier of the truth. Your filthy book lies to you, written by murderers and criminals. At least this one is on the right side of history. She died, and I'd kill her again, and again, and again. She died a martyr; you should thank her, really. Her death is what will move the world to a better place."
The teacher of our main characters! Andrew Ayken is the first human teacher at Wickwood, and this is his first year teaching! One of the first four human students and an adept spellcaster, Ayken has had a long and hard journey to get where he is. He is a little skittish because of how easily everything could be taken away if he makes a mistake. He is determined to protect his students and ensure that they remain safe.
In terms of Ayken's voice, it is relatively formal, though he makes a few mistakes and may stutter out of nervousness. He may speak with a North American, English, or Irish accent, depending on auditions. Feel free to try any of them.
(Worried) "Sock- Did you break something?! That's a CLEANING spell, how did you BREAK something--"
(Avoidant) "...Ah, it's just a dusty old book from my younger days. It's probably best not to dwell on the past."
(Angry, passionate, protective) "You can't just tell me that MY STUDENT is less important than any of the others just because he's human! I don't care what I have to do, I will keep him safe or die trying."
Batter is an 18-year-old ghost with a very bad stint of chronic lateness. He is jaded and sardonic with a debilitating sweet tooth and a penchant for music -- particularly rock. He's a punk ghost. He can play the piano and the drums, but his passion is drumming.
He speaks in a mellow, almost-monotone at times, but you can still tell when he is enthusiastic or how he feels about something. He uses a lot of shortened language and is pretty terse. He is very matter-of-fact and quick to the point -- almost as if he has no time for this. Maybe because he's always late. Or maybe because he's dead.
(Excited) "Dude. Fuck. I will do whatever the fuck you want for a key lime pie. My SP was in love with that shit."
(Kind of somber) "I'm rooting for you two. I'll see you on the other side. Literally."
(Angry, dismissive) "Look. I don't want to talk about him. I don't care. What happened before, it happened and now I'm here. Now would you please just leave it alone?"
Brutus is a massive tiefling that is part of Alistor's group. Born in Russia, it is his first language, but he does know basic English. He is a man of few words and even less patience. He is a bit aggressive but has a big soft spot for those who are clearly afraid and small- especially children. He doesn't mind Chillo, and actually enjoys Cobalt's company, though both of them are intimidated by him.
He speaks with a thick Russian accent if he speaks at all. He is blunt and stubborn.
(quiet, soft) "....You are very small. You have tiny legs. And tinier bones. I could crush you, but I will not."
(Hesitant, unsure) "...Alistor...you...speak Russian? I thought you were just an American orphan with a knife."
(Pissed off) "Christa. That is enough talking from you. You continue to infuriate me every single day. I am not sure how much longer I can take, how you say, your bullshit."
Clara is an 18-year-old water elemental who lives in a wooded cabin with her younger brother, who is a fire elemental. She is a bit reckless but free-spirited and has a keen eye for knowledge. She is excitable, curious, and intelligent, finding interest in humankind and the history of magic, as well as Wickwood itself. She seeks to discover where she came from, and she finds solace in the company of the outcasts and oddities around her as she doesn't know where she truly came from.
She speaks with an English/British accent and enunciates clearly, despite speaking somewhat quickly. Diction is important.
(Positive, encouraging) "It's really not a problem Fleur, it's simple demonology! Locked demons are locked to a specific place, and bound demons are bound to a specific item! I'm sure you'll get it."
(Hopeful, wistful) "I would really like to see them, you know... I don't know what you have to do with them, but-- you have to have some answers. Even just a hint...?"
(Cold, frustrated) "I don't know if I have parents. I don't know where I came from. But I can not simply accept the idea that my attempts to figure out the past eleven years were for nothing."
A demon bound to one of the teachers at Wickwood. Cornelius, or Corn, simply, is a trickster spirit who runs the mysterious initiation ceremony at Wickwood. He is cunning, smug, and formless, constantly changing and surprising the students. He can change anything about his appearance, age, voice, or the room he is bound to, all at his own will. He often does things simply for the fun of it, because chaos is entertaining and he lost his morals when he died so who cares?
Corn speaks in a suave, cocky tone- akin to characters like Mephistopheles from the short "Welcome to Hell", or Alistor from the show Hazbin Hotel (minus the radio effects). He can change his voice and do funny pitches and altogether is very flexible. Show your versatility. Typically, Cornelius sounds like he's trying to convince you to do something reckless. His voice is permitted to have minor editing provided there is a clean take so that we can hear what you sound like.
(Amused) "Look, I don't get it. You replace a kid's teeth with fox fur and suddenly YOU'RE the bad guy? I mean, look at all the other stuff I did for him! He was complaining about something stuck in his teeth and I just helped him out! I'm a good samaritan! You should be thanking me!"
(Cocky, playful) "Hi! The name's Corn. You interested in a timeshare? Meaning I take half your lifespan and then share it with your best friend? I'm just playing. But if you do want that, tell me."
(Somber, low, all the attitude is gone.) "...I'm not your friend. I'm not anybody's friend. Cornelius is dead; he died 265 years ago. You have no idea who I am, you have no idea who you're messing with, and you have absolutely no idea what I'll do to you when I get out of here."
One of the teachers at Wickwood, and the keeper of Corn's binding gemstone, Ketel teaches curses/hexes and demonology. He is strict and stern, verbose, and, above all else, professional. He spends a lot of his time outside of class babysitting the chaotic demon that's bound to him, and he's sick of it.
Ketel's voice is very clear and pronounced, but deep. He can get a lot of emotion across despite the low pitch of his voice, and he is quick to correct himself should he make mistakes. He speaks with complex words and rarely curses unless driven to his limit.
(Frazzled, tired, but trying to stay professional) "...I am fine, Clara. I have had a very long day. I am merely a bit flustered, that is all."
(Frustrated) "Cornelius! That's enough!"
(Calm, focused) "...I have seen a powder like this once before. Soran used it when he bound Cornelius to this gemstone... and subsequently to me. Typically, this powder is used during binding artifacts to users...Where did you find this, Sock?"
The right-hand man of our main antagonist, Axil. Tyle raised Axil as a young child, and has instilled in him his ideology: Humankind should not meddle with magic. Tyle has slid from being the leader of the almost cult-like insurgency he's formed to subservient to Axil, though he still has authority over the rest of the insurgency. He is very proud of Axil's growth and, despite seeing Axil as in power, will always think of him as his son.
Tyle enunciates clearly and speaks calmly, but can be very cruel. His voice should be strong and capable of being powerful enough to bring a human to their knees; but subdued, as he is no longer in control.
(Soft, fatherly) "...I am so proud of the creature you've become."
(Low, angry) "You made a mistake." (annoyed laugh) "...I thought humans were supposed to be smarter than this."
(Calm, cruel) "Look on the bright side of this situation, little one -- and I know it seems like there's no bright side to this situation, but consider this: You're going to die a martyr. Everyone will know your name. You're going to start a revolution; change the world. You just have to die first."
One of the original four human students- the very first class. Vixen was killed shortly after graduating from Wickwood, so you'll only see him in flashbacks. He was kindhearted and a little stubborn, to a fault. He was very close to Noir before his death, and his death heavily impacted Noir as he matured.
Vixen speaks in a joking and friendly manner.
(Worried) "...Andrew, what are you hiding? You promised you weren't going to keep secrets anymore."
(Friendly) "Hi! Call me Vixen! You said you go by Noir earlier, right? I like your hat, it's very big."
(Sad, a little desperate) "Stop it! Stop doing this shit! You've got so many metallic pieces now that I don't even remember what you looked like without them! You're gonna give up all your humanity! You're gonna give up all that you are, and for what? Work?"
