Who Framed Roger Rabbit Full Fandub Movie
Project Overview
★ "Who Framed Roger Rabbit" is a 1988 American fantasy comedy film combining live-action and animation. Set in an alternate history of Hollywood in 1947, where humans and cartoon characters (referred to as "toons") co-exist, the film follows Eddie Valiant, a private investigator with a grudge against toons, who must help exonerate Roger, who has been framed for murder. The film received critical acclaim for its visuals, humor, writing, performances and groundbreaking combination of live-action and animation. It won three Academy Awards for Best Film Editing, Best Sound Effects Editing, and Best Visual Effects, and received a Special Achievement Academy Award for Williams' animation direction.
★ My name is Penelope, or Pen for short, and I am your director and editor for this project! I have been a voice actor, director, editor, and screenwriter for voiceover content since about age 13 back in the 2010s (I am now 29 and studied film in college). Creating content like this is my passion. I'm a daycare teacher by day, voiceover content creator by night. My channel on YT is PenelopeHawthorn.TV.
★ "Who Framed Roger Rabbit" means a lot to me. I first discovered it as a kid at an antique store and happily brought the VHS tape home to watch immediately. As soon as I saw the movie, it changed my world. Toons and humans in one film together? It blew my mind! I truly believe this is where my love for cinema began, and I'd love to honor that by returning to it with this fandub production!
★ As you may notice, there are a lot of roles in this film of all different sizes/commitment levels. This might be my most ambitious project to date, but I have the passion to see it through, don't worry!
★ For the Toons, I am looking for accurate impressions of the character. For the humans, I am more open to interpretations that aren't exact one-to-one impressions. A few of the roles have already been filled, and thus were not listed in this casting call; all remaining roles have been listed in order of appearance.
★ In order to get this project going as soon as possible to meet my goal for the release date, I am doing ROLLING CASTING! This means DO NOT HESITATE TO AUDITION IF YOU WANT A SPECIFIC ROLE, or else someone else may snatch it up before you! My casting here will be FIRST COME, FIRST SERVE!
FAQ:
★ How will this be organized?
Through a Discord server! Having a Discord account is a requirement for casting.
★ When are my lines gonna be due?
January 1, 2027
★ What if I can’t make the deadline for submission?
The deadline can be extended, if circumstances beyond your control are affecting your ability to get your lines in by January. Please message me privately if you need more time.
★ What format should I use when submitting my lines?
Mp3 preferred. Wav also works! Mp4 is not preferred but can be accepted if necessary.
★ Should I do multiple takes?
2 takes minimum; 4 takes maximum, please! After you record, if I need any retakes, I will contact you!
★ Would you prefer lines in one file or an individual file for each line?
I would prefer an INDIVIDUAL file for each SCENE, please!
★ What if my character has a song?
Please record your song in full, then remove the backing track before sending it to me so I have just your audio to work with. That way we can potentially create a small album of songs to post in addition to the film. The only exception to this is the Singing Sword's "Wicked Witchcraft", which I do not intend to post in full.
★ Do I need to match the mouth flaps of the characters?
To the best of your ability, but do not stress about this on your first takes please - I will ask for retakes if I need the pacing different to line up properly. I want you to focus more on your performance than pacing, and let me worry about the pacing in editing.
★ When is this gonna be ready?
I'm aiming for an April Fools' Day release 2027 (also my 30th birthday!), but this might change depending on when I get all the lines submitted and how editing goes. I will update you on the release date as we get closer to the wrap on production!

Benny is portrayed as a gruff, sarcastic, outspoken, sassy, and witty middle-aged Toon taxi cab, who doesn't take kindly to slow drivers. While Benny may have a short-temper and a bad attitude at times, he's still a loyal and good friend to Roger and Eddie (the protagonists of the story).
