ABOUT THE PROJECT
Whispers from the Anchor is a psychological thriller/mystery set in a rich, original fantasy world. It follows a rogue "Free Thinker"—a former Time Mage—who uncovers a buried conspiracy involving gods, memory, and the manipulation of time itself. Presented as recovered voice-crystal recordings, the show features immersive narration, eerie audio effects, and a dark, twisty narrative. Think The Magnus Archives meets Welcome to Night Vale, but with fantasy lore, magical tech, and ancient secrets. This podcast is tied to the upcoming fantasy novel Awakening the Seablade and set in the world of Trexlin (www.trexlin.net).

All - just a quick note. Ep1's post production is taking a bit longer than I expected. I'm trying to get the correct audio effect for the time crystal playback scenes. Im narrowing it down right now. But the final cut should still be this week.
Also - a quick note - Ive received a few of the audio files for Ep2. I'd appreciate it, for those of you who havent, if you could try and get the lines to me by the end of this weekend if at all possible.
Age range: 30s–50s (voice). Tone: Calm but emotionally layered, with the weight of loss, curiosity, and growing obsession. Voice style: Warm, introspective, but occasionally frantic or conspiratorial. Commitment: 8–10 episodes (~5–8 minutes of dialogue per episode).
Voicestone entry… active.
The world stills. Snow frozen midair. Soundless thunder trapped in stone. Even Jori, arm raised to shield his face, is locked in place.
Not someone.....Something......Voicestone entry...suspended
Jori (Supporting Role) – Male-presenting, 20s–30s (voice). A street-smart, sarcastic but big-hearted companion to the Free Thinker. He’s never heard of Foci, Time Palaces, or Temporials, but quickly finds himself drawn into the mystery. Ideally able to balance humor and emotional sincerity. Appears in multiple episodes.
You mean like Ol’ Heynor? That old drunk who cackles every time the bell tower chimes?
One second I’m staring up at a wall of snow, the next it’s past us. What happened?
You got a funny way of explaining things, friend.
The founder and first ruler of the realm of Foci. Commanding, composed, and dangerously charismatic. Speaks with a quiet authority that suggests both immense knowledge and a hidden edge. His presence should feel calculated and profound—he knows more than he reveals. Appears in a handful of voicestone recordings.
*Say something you think would fit*
Quill’s twin brother and the Time Lord of the Palace. Cold, clinical, and fiercely intelligent. Speaks with precision and an air of intellectual superiority. Unlike Quill’s warmth, Qualis is detached—he’s the one pulling the strings in the background. Appears in a few critical moments.
*Say something you think would fit*
The daughter of Quill and Lassdi. Once a gifted Temporal scholar, now presumed dead. In reality, she’s left a series of hidden voicestones uncovering the dark truth about her family. Her voice should carry intelligence, sorrow, and quiet defiance. A major mystery figure in the story.
*Say something you think would fit*
The sacrificial mother of Foci, revered—but her death may not have been willing. Once full of compassion and insight, she now exists only in voicestone fragments, speaking from the past. Her voice is warm, maternal, and touched with melancholy.
