What is When Out of School?
When Out of School is a visual novel I have been working on for quite some time now. The story follows a cosplayer of the age 16 (She is the player) going through drama when false rumors are spread about her among her friends. The story goes through the drama as well as how her life changes once she meets three boys who invite her into their cosplay group upon her stating she might back out of the cosplay community. The story follows her as she begins to clear up drama, make new friends and fall in love with one of the three members in the group.
What am I looking for?
I am currently looking for:
- Someone to help me out with the script code. I did originally plan on doing the code myself until I realized I'm still not 100% sure on how to use Ren'py.
- Background Artist
- Sprite Artist
- Scene Artist
- Concept Artist
- Voice Actors
- GUI Designer
Requirements
- Coding - Have past experience with coding in Ren'py and send a link example.
- Background Artist - Have a detailed style
- Sprite Artist - Sophisticated/detailed art style
- Scene Artist - Sophisticated/detailed art style
- Concept Artist - Be creative and do NOT use designs of your own characters or any images found on the internet!!
- Voice Actor - Have a good quality microphone, obviously I wont be too picky but if I think your voice stands out but your mic quality isn't the best, I prefer skills over mic quality unless I can hardly understand what you're saying and please have minimal background noise!!
- GUI Designer - Have past experience and show examples (Custom Text boxes, Start screens, etc)
- MUST HAVE DISCORD AND AN EMAIL!!
I am heavily aware that I won't find exactly what I'm looking for and that's completely fine! Keep in mind the theme of this Visual Novel is more of a dark theme. Think of something similar to the Diabolik Lovers art style.

Yoshimura is 18. He is incredibly smart and very well organized. He works as a cashier until he can eventually take over his fathers costume design company. His fathers company is a big part of how he began cosplaying.
His voice is deep; mature but young. He speaks in a serious but gentle tone unless annoyed which is incredibly rare. He is very well composed.
Please provide 2 examples of each line
Gentle “Do you mind if we stay like this just a little bit longer, my love?” [edited]
Serious "Daichi, if you keep this up you aren't going to graduate. You need to pay more attention to your studies."
Annoyed "Sigh.. And I thought my sister was stupid.."
^^ Quick note!! I noticed with the auditions a common mistake and I shouldve stated sooner!! With this line its all in one go! The "My" Isnt emphasized, the line is comparing one of his friends to his sister for being stupid.
Daichi is 17. He is very dependable but not good at giving advice and tends to get really awkward easily. He is very outgoing but prefers to stick with people that are closer to his personality and on the same wavelength.
Daichi has a very rough but somewhat high voice. The biggest thing I am looking for with Daichi is the portrayal of his character. He is dependable but it's clear in his tone he has problems of his own that he doesn't like to worry others about. He always has a slight hint in his voice of being upset when talking to others.

Gentle but flustered “Hey.. You know if you look at me like that I won’t be able to suppress my urges for you much longer..”
Whining "Jeez, you guys are no fun! If I wanted to be bored I would have gone to the library."
Annoyed "I said leave me alone!"
Softly "Sigh.. Even when I'm yelling at you to leave, you won't let me be alone..?"
Naoto is 16. He is a very smart but laid back student. With that he is also very chaotic but super sweet and fun to be around due to his sympathetic and soft nature.
I imagine his voice as mature but not deep and soft and smooth. He is a very gentle and kind character so I want a voice that will give that security and soft aura.

Gentle “I’ve never felt this way towards anyone.. So please.. Take good care of my heart.”
Questioning and worried "Hey what are you gu- Wha!? What's going on here!"
Becca is 18. Becca is super chaotic and just exciting to be around. You will never have a dull moment with her and she will always be there for support.
Honestly go crazy with her voice! I mean obviously not like crazy crazy. I don't have a specific voice preference but obviously I ask that it sounds feminine <3

Questioning -> Awkward "Hey, what are you guys- Oop, I'll come back later."
Sincere "Seriously, dude he only talks about you to our mom. Weird right? But don't worry you got this"
Happy "You're my best friend (Chuckles) and my brother adores you so like I'll always be here to help."
This job is for someone to script the code Script will be provided through Google Docs.. MUST be formatted through Ren'py and JEdit.
You must send example of previous work in Ren'py and give an update on the project every week and a half. I'm aware the project is free but this is a volunteer project so if you won't take it serious or put in the time then I will have to ask you to not audition. As stated before, this is a volunteer project meaning you volunteer to work in this, it's your choice so please take it seriously.

I have descriptions of the characters already planned out and everything but I don't have much faith in my own art and I would much prefer to have a concept artist by my side <3 For this I dont mind what you're art style is!

This role is designing things like the text box and menu bars for when the game is paused or for the front menu. Let me know if you need more details because I wasn't quite sure how to explain!
