WHAT FOLLOWS - FEATURE FILM

This feature-length supernatural horror film will be shot with a tense, atmospheric style designed for festival audiences, blending practical effects and immersive cinematography, and we are currently seeking a talented screenwriter to collaborate on bringing the story and its chilling mythology to life.

SYNOPSIS:

At the heart of their college campus stands a circle of ancient trees, fenced off and whispered about in late-night ghost stories. Legend says the spot was once a place of sacrifice, where restless spirits still linger. Dismissing it as nothing more than campus folklore, a group of friends decide to test the myth for fun, performing a summoning ritual beneath the branches.

But when the ritual actually works, something answers, something that doesn’t leave. At first it plays with them in subtle ways: flickers in the dark, strange whispers, distorted reflections. Then, the games turn violent. Bound to the students, the spirit follows them beyond the circle, feeding on their fears and twisting their trust in one another. As reality begins to unravel, the group realizes that the true terror isn’t just what they summoned; it’s how easily the spirit can turn them against each other.

With night stretching endlessly and paranoia growing, the friends must uncover the truth about the circle of trees and the spirit’s origins before their bonds, and their minds completely shatter.

Requirements:

• Must be 18+

• Must use FINAL DRAFT or another industry standard/approved screenwriting software. (If you do not have Final Draft, list what software you do have, and we will still put you into consideration.)

• Experience in horror or psychological thriller writing.

• Ability to create strong characters and maintain suspenseful pacing.

• Skilled in supernatural/folklore storytelling.

• Comfortable with collaboration and revisions.

• Ability to write for a festival-ready production style.
