West Coast Avengers – Comic Dub (Issue #1)
Project Overview
Join us for a fun, energetic dubbing of West Coast Avengers (2018) #1! This issue brings together an eclectic team of young superheroes, Kate Bishop, Clint Barton, America Chavez, Gwenpool, Quentin Quire, and Fuse (Johnny Watts), on their first chaotic mission. The story is fast-paced, witty, and full of heart, with each character’s personality shining through in dialogue, banter, and heroic antics.
This project emphasizes humor, character dynamics, and playful superhero energy over heavy drama. VAs will have the chance to bring distinct personalities to life, from Kate’s clever sarcasm to America’s bold heroism, Gwenpool’s chaotic meta humor, Quentin’s rebellious wit, and Fuse’s smooth, confident charm. Clint anchors the team with his dry, seasoned humor.
Some actors, depending on vocal qualities, may also be used for small, ensemble roles throughout the issue, so versatility and the ability to bring multiple minor characters to life is a plus.

Kate is confident, quick-witted, and naturally sarcastic. She’s a born leader with a sharp sense of humor, always thinking two steps ahead in a fight and three steps ahead in her quips. While she’s heroic and determined, she also has a playful side and enjoys teasing her teammates. Actors should capture her clever, energetic tone, balancing heroism with approachable charm.

We're superheroes, not celebrities, it's important we maintain a level of respectabi- They're acting like jackasses right behind me, aren't they?
America, get Clint up there. See if he can talk some sense into her. Let's get a feel for whether she has control or not.
I need help! Send all the help! Avengers Assemble or whatever!
Clint is sarcastic, world-weary, and laid-back, but with a genuine care for his team. He’s the seasoned archer whose dry humor often contrasts with the chaos around him. Actors should capture both his deadpan wit and moments of heartfelt mentorship, making him feel experienced but approachable.

See, that tells me you know nothing about Kate. Did you even do research for these questions.
Those things didn't just come out of nowhere. Land-Sharks don't even exist...I'm almost sure.
America is bold, brash, and energetic with a heroic, can-do attitude. She’s confident and fearless, unafraid to charge into action while keeping her humor intact. Actors should portray her as strong, playful, and inspiring, with plenty of youthful energy and punchy comedic timing.

Are you an idiot? Kate is an excellent leader. She'd do anything to save the day. Anything.
You know I can kill you with a single punch, right?
Gwenpool is chaotic, meta, and delightfully unpredictable. She loves breaking the fourth wall, exaggerating situations, and delivering deadpan or over-the-top lines depending on the moment. Actors should embrace her wild comedic energy and ability to mix absurdity with sincerity.

Wait, what team? Are we heroes or villains?
For the last time, exit the damn vehicle lady and move with others in an orderly fashion!
Quentin is cocky, clever, and mischievous, often serving as the sarcastic smart-ass of the team. He enjoys pushing buttons and teasing teammates, but he also has moments of insight and determination. Actors should capture his youthful arrogance, sharp wit, and occasional intensity.

Well, let me know when you change your mind. I'll just be here, ready with the solution.
Yes because I totally joined this outfit to be a glorified shield. Absolutely ridiculous.
In the flesh, Bishop. And here to save your butt.
Fuse is calm, clever, and effortlessly charismatic. He’s the team’s cool-headed wildcard. He's able to deliver dry, deadpan humor while also stepping up in high-energy moments. Johnny’s natural charm and confident delivery bring Fuse’s wit and intelligence to life, making him both approachable and memorable. Actors should capture his smooth, mid-range tone, mixing sarcasm, humor, and subtle swagger. Fuse rarely panics, often acting as the grounding voice in the chaos, but can shine in comedic beats or quick, sharp comebacks.

I've been a superhero for about...two minutes.
Well she's my girlfriend so...Wait...that sounds bad, can I start again?
The Interviewer is not seen in the flesh, but their presence shapes the entire documentary. They should sound professional, calm, and grounded like a real journalist. They’re curious, sometimes skeptical, and not afraid to push back. The delivery should feel natural, like a conversation, rather than theatrical.
Since this character is completely off-screen, I’m open to different interpretations of how they might sound, as long as it feels believable in a documentary-style format.
So, you're Clint Barton, also known as Hawkeye. But Kate Bishop is also Hawkeye too. Doesn't that get confusing?
So, why Kate Bishop? Isn't she a bit young to lead? A bit inexperienced?
