WELCOME TO SUPERNOVA ACADEMY! - Fortnite Short Films for FortShorts
Project Overview
Hello,
We create short films set in the Fortnite game universe. Our content is rated PG13 and presented in episodes. We aim to make the game's complex story fun and easy to follow.
NOTE: Some characters are set to return for future episodes!
Key Considerations you must know before auditioning:
You DON'T need to have any knowledge of Fortnite to audition.
We do NOT use AI and NEVER will!
You'll need a good microphone and quiet recording space. Potential yelling! Your mic must not peak or get distorted!
Meeting deadlines is important. We usually give 3-5 days to do your lines.
While you're not bound by a contract, we hope you'll commit to finishing your role once you start.
Scripts are around 40 pages long, but characters usually have 2-5 minutes of screen time depending on importance.
We'll credit you in the video description with your preferred name and social media link. And if requested, a recommendation on CCC.
Our seasons typically align with Fortnite’s, lasting around 80 days, during which we aim to release 1-5 videos. However, for this season, we’ll only release 1-3~ video.
If you enjoy working with us and the final product, we'd love it if you consider auditioning for more roles in the future. This helps us a lot!
Having a Discord account is helpful but not mandatory. We use it for easy communication, but we can also use other methods.
You can contact us through our website, Instagram, Twitter, or Discord.
We look forward to having you on board!

Lead Role
Lightrider is a bold and adventurous young hero, who’s sudden acquisition of superpowers has twisted her natural kindness and strong sense of justice into overwhelming arrogance and reckless showboating. She’s a quick witted adrenaline junkie who is incredibly eager to pick fights out of an insatiable hunger to prove herself to the world. But her single minded pursuit of glory often leads to unintentional neglect of those closest to her, and strained relationships with her allies. And she refuses to truly rely on or confide in anyone but herself.

(Cocky) I’d love to see you in action. Reckon you could catch me?
(Standoffish) How about you get this through your stupid headphones, I’m NEVER too slow…
(Spiteful) If you’re too afraid to take any risks, then that’s what you should do, maybe this place isn’t right for you after all… Heroes run towards the fire, Morgan, not away from it…
Lead Role
Morgan Myst is a troubled teen who despite her immense power and potential, struggles with self confidence due to a difficult home life. A childhood friend of Lightrider, Morgan’s former flair for adventure has been worn down and eroded until they couldn’t be more different, causing the two girls to find themselves at odds despite their historic bond as Morgan’s angst and trauma begins to surface. Despite this, she also proves herself to be emotionally sensitive, selfless and logical. Marking her as a potential leader among the Supernovas even if she herself fails to see it. Her voice should be reserved and wary, but still capable of carrying intense emotion and anger during character moments.

(Awkward) Uh, not really, I thought I’d just be Morgan… ‘cause that’s my name?
(Distraught) I don’t have the luxury of banking on that! Didn’t you hear me earlier? This place is EVERYTHING I HAVE LEFT!
(Vexed) Every single time I’ve tried to confide in you today, you’ve blown me off. Every time I tried to explain what happened you were too wrapped up in your delusions to give a damn.
Supporting role
Haylee is an energetic and enthusiastic cheerleader who throws herself wholeheartedly into being a hero. Though she is a little naive at times and not the greatest at reading the room, her good heart and bubbly personality help her make a strong impression on those around her. However, she has a slightly darker side… Storm Beast, a demonic entity who became bound to Haylee when her powers awakened. Storm Beast is bloodthirsty, psychotic and vain, just barely kept in line by Haylee as the unlikely duo try to use their shared body for good. Her voice should comparatively be far raspier and harsher than Haylees.

Power - Chainsaw Man (note: Maybe less crazy most of the time and more just hyper teen girl)

(Brightly) Hiya! Y’know, you really shouldn’t worry too much about earlier, I blurt out stuff without thinking all the time! One time, I told Storm Beast that her face card might need a little work, and she wouldn’t let me have control of the body for an entire week!
(Forlorn) But, Mr. Jones… people were going to get hurt…
(Storm Beast) KILL AND MURDER AND DEATH! AHAHAHAHA!
Role Supporting
Synthwave is a strong willed and fearless young woman, who channels her love for music into her Superhero work thanks to her ability to shoot soundwaves from her hands. Though it comes from a place of care for her teammates, Synthwave is always trying to take charge and be a leader in every situation, and can sometimes come off as overly assertive when this puts her at odds with Lightrider and Killswitch. Still, she is bold and extremely passionate about Hero work, and thinks of her classmates like a band. One which she truly wants to see reach stardom.

(Enthusiastic) Yeah! Didn’t you say earlier that we’re the key to all of this? If the Mask Maker is making moves, then the time to act is now!
(Cocky) There’s no such thing as kill-stealing! Just you being too slow….
(Standoffish) Oh, so you think you can just judge them because they’re a little different? I’ve seen way too many bands breakup because of prejudice and jealousy… Apologise to them.
Supporting Role
Killswitch is a highly intelligent hero, who studies situations and data intently before coming to a conclusion. Though this doesn’t get in the way of his love for a good fight, and he’s more than willing to break rules if he can find a tactical rationalisation for it. However his attitude often leads to him coming off as pretentious and somewhat of a control freak, especially to Synthwave who finds his constant analyses boring and condescending. His voice should strive to find a middle ground between a slightly snobbish intellectual and a young gunslinger who uses his mind to justify the quickest path to his next battle.
Voice References:
Takeda - Mortal Kombat X (However maybe a bit more blunt nerdery or robotic like)
Think Zane from Ninjago

(Warning) Synthwave, perhaps your quickness to anger has overshadowed her genuine remorse and escalated the situation, even if the comment was ill-thought-out. I’d suggest a more measured critique next time-
(Frustrated) His dogmatic adherence to protocol in times like these does not indicate a tactically inclined mind… I also agree.
(Excited) There are too many variables and insufficient data to draw a conclusion at this time. I recommend entering combat and re-analysing what we know at an intermission…
Supporting Role
An unnatural fusion between a chameleon and a surfer, Ziggy isn’t exactly sure what they are anymore, but they’re pretty stoked to help out at Supernova Academy however they can! Ziggy is the laid back and happy go lucky type, and gets along well with just about everyone, though they especially love their friends in the Hero class. They love surfing and skateboarding, and have an aptitude for computers that might just prove useful in the future.

(De-escalating) Woah woah woah! Heya, it’s me, the guy that no one bothered to ask before getting pissy. You’re cool, girl! I get this a lot!
(Excited) No way, rad name! If my name weren’t already Ziggy, I’d SO wanna be called Morgan Myst!!
(Chilled) Oh, I know! Just checking up on my favourite guys, gals and non-binary pals before they get to their super-awesome hero work! See ya around, dudes!
Supporting Role
Tim Drake is the third of Batman’s most iconic sidekicks, and one of the most idealistic and altruistic characters to hold the mantle. He is highly intelligent and determined to accomplish his ambitious goals with his aptitude for logic and technology, but often finds himself held back by his own insecurity and the pragmatism of those around him. Tim joins our story as a combat expert hired to whip the unlikely band of young heroes into shape with his years of experience training under Batman. And we would be looking for an impression in a similar vein to Yuri Lowenthal or Sloane Morgan Siegel, though other interpretations are welcome.
Voice Reference:
Open to interpretation, however Tim Drake from Young Justice will do fine.

(Joking) Who’s laughing now? Well, not me exactly, but not him either…
(Serious) Anger solved little when the world was in crisis…
(Self-Deprecating) I am so very clever… and when I’m in love with how clever I am, my common sense goes out the window…
Supporting Role (Antagonist)
Kor is the Lieutenant to Daigo within his new Demonic Army, and his right hand as he enters the most critical stages of his master plan to “save” the island. In contrast to Daigo’s serious demeanour, powerful emotional connection to his goals and instability, Kor is snarky, measured and has no investment in what happens to Oninoshima beyond the paycheck she’ll receive for serving Daigo. She does however find a cruel amusement in mocking the inexperienced young Supernovas and trying to pry into Daigo’s past, and as such should come off aloof, calculating and greedy above all else.

(Sarcastic) Heh, sorry to be so insensitive, professor. But I hope you didn’t call me here just to lecture me on cultural appropriation.
(Calm, slightly taunting) Only trying to get a better picture of what I'm getting into. Are you sure there’s nothing you can tell me about Kendo? Or perhaps Jade…
(Amused) My my, what an impressive display. I assume you are the supposed “Secret Weapon” against Daigo…
Minor Role
Lightrider’s overworked and exhausted father, who has had to contend with his daughter’s inflated ego every day for months after she received her powers. Despite his frustration and disappointment at the kind of person she is becoming, he does love and care for her deeply, and wants nothing more than for her to find success at Supernova Academy
Voice:
A tired, gravelly voice filled with love, worn down by months of worry and disappointment.
- english (american)
- male adult
(Exasperated) That’s not the point; I just… Look, I’m happy that these new powers are giving you a confidence boost, all I want is for you to be happy. But you’ve changed so much in the last few months that sometimes I barely recognise-
(Calling out) No! Wait… Can you… (Sigh) Please be safe, honey…
(Unamused) Real funny. Do you even know the time? You’ve talked about nothing but the academy for the last month. But in 5 minutes you’re going to be late for orientation…
Minor Role
Morgan’s mother is a largely offscreen, but nonetheless crucial part of Morgan’s character arc. In the wake of a family tragedy, her concerns at Morgan’s lifestyle gradually devolved into emotional abuse and degradation. And her insults can often be heard echoing in Morgan’s head during hard times. She should be played with a spiteful fury, lashing out and driving her daughter away during a time of extreme personal sorrow.
Voice:
A sharp, venomous voice that cuts deep—dripping with bitterness, control, and pain barely hidden under rage.
- female adult
- english (american)
(Furious) USELESS, DISRESPECTFUL LITTLE BRAT! YOU CAN LIE TO YOURSELF ALL YOU WANT, BUT YOU’LL NEVER- (Cut off by a door slamming)
Taunting) He’d be ashamed to see you now…
(Menacing) You’re a disappointment…
Supporting Role
The definitive Superhero and a paragon of hope, freedom and justice, Superman joins the story as a teacher and mentor for the young heroes. Our version of Superman depicts a slightly older and wiser take on the character from the 2025 James Gunn movie, one who is good humoured, humble and profoundly kind above all else. Who recognises that for this next generation of heroes, the most valuable information he can impart is his knowledge and experience of the ethics of heroism. We would be looking for an impersonation in a similar vein to David Corenswet or Tim Daly’s performances. But we would be open to other interpretations as long as they aren’t too similar to darker versions of the character. (ie Man Of Steel or Injustice)
Voice:
Superman (David Corenswet)
- male adult
- english (american)
(Determined) No…. I’m only useless if I back down!
(Joking) Pardon the interruption, but that’s quite the fight to be picking on your first day…
(Concerned) Don’t get up… I can see you’re a tortured soul, I don’t want to hurt you.
