Rainbowland: An Interactive Rainbow Experience
Project Overview
Rainbowland: An Interactive Rainbow Experience
First, let's start with the goal of this project: To bring Rainbow Brite as it is now to new and future generations, and to create a space for fans to expand upon the media that already exists for the franchise.
Here's the breakdown. We will be rolling out several different Rainbow Brite themed projects over the next several years.
Rainbowland - The Podcast
This Podcast will be released on a Monthly schedule, beginning January of 2024. December is full of Holiday bonus goodies.
The original series contains 13 episodes, plus a movie. Season one of the podcast is meant to be evergreen, and an avenue for current and future fans to find a place to dig into each episode for as much behind the scenes details as we can pack into each one. We would like fans to consider this season the companion show to listen to, any time you need a friend in your head to gush over the magic of the Rainbow with.

Rainbow Radio - The Sister Podcast
This podcast is more casual than Rainbowland. It will be hosted by Alex, and he will have an engaging conversation with another Rainbow Brite fan about whatever topics feel right for that month. This will be released alongside Rainbowland, with a Monthly release as well, falling at the middle of each month rather than the beginning.
They are separate shows because the tone and intention for each are completely different. Rainbow Radio is a show that will continue on after Rainbowland eventually concludes, having covered all possible official Rainbow Brite media. It also will feature Rainbow Brite news as it comes in, interviews with Rainbow Brite fans and anyone involved in the franchase we can get, and more. It'll be the place where you get to know the creators of The Interactive Rainbow Experience.
Welcome To Rainbowland - The RPG
This will be made using the RPG Maker System, unless an official Game Developing Company shows genuine interest in this project.
The game will feature several playable characters, covering the events of the Rainbow Brite series, books, additional media, and beyond.
Players can expect to participate in engaging story telling, adorable cut scenes, a side-view turn based battle system with custom battle sprites and animations, a unique color-based stat system and more!
There are additional features we would love to include, such as voice overs, however much of this will depend on the level of interest others show in working on this project.
Playable Characters
Wisp
Before she was Rainbow Brite, her name was Wisp. The game begins during this time, and she will be the first character player's control.
Rainbow Brite
The name given to Wisp at the conclusion of Welcome To Rainbowland Part II. She's also the main character of the show, and will almost always be in the party.
Twink
Rainbow Brite's sprite. In this game, there are Magical Beings such as Rainbow Brite and the Color Kids, and then there are those who help them such as Starlight, Twink, and the other Sprites. Twink is the leader of the Sprites, and by far the strongest game-play wise.
The Color Kids
Each color kid will be a playable character, and part of this game's strategy will be figuring out what each color's stat does, and how to use that to your advantage. Each color kid will be the shining example of what that stat does, and how it can be used. For example - Canary Yellow will have the highest Yellow Power. Yellow Power abilities tend to be healing when used on friends. When used on enemies, they can sometimes make them so happy that they may attack for you once or twice.
Stormy
We view Stormy as Rainbow Brite's friendly rival, not an enemy. She and Rainbow may not always agree, but when it comes to bad guys they'll always be on the same side. Her powers are unique, in that that they largely do not rely on the color stats system at all.
Moon Glow & Tickled Pink
Both Moon Glow and Tickled Pink have unique purposes in battle. Moon Glow focuses on providing party-wide buffs and minor restorative effects over time, while Tickled Pink focuses on de-buffing enemies and inflicting damage over time with her Pink Magic attacks.
The Color Sprites
Color Sprites will be playable characters, one per corresponding Magical Being when appropriate. They will not be very strong in battle, their main purpose being to heavily buff their specific color's stats for the entire party. These sprites are ideal for people wanting to focus on a certain style of play.

For more information about Rainbow Brite all around, visit the page linked above.
We will need someone who can commit to this role long term, as we would like the main character of this series to have consistence above all other characters.
You will be doing Podcast episode introductions and closing segments as the character of Rainbow Brite.
Commentary from Rainbow herself may be sprinkled into various content created for this project. That may include YouTube videos, Podcast Episodes, Interviews, and more.
You will also be voicing Rainbow for the Unofficial Rainbow Brite RPG being developed in conjunction with this project.
A deep understanding and love for Rainbow Brite is required to take on this role.

You'll never rid the world of color, not while I'm around Murky Dismal. Twink, the star sprinkles. It's time to teach these two a lesson once and for all!
[Rainbow Fades - Starlight & Rainbow Falling Towards Earth] What's going on!? Where did the rainbow go? [Determined Sounds While Digging For Star Sprinkles] [Magical Sound Effects - Rainbow Parachute Created To Break Fall] Phew, had just enough.
Welcome Back To Rainbowland: An Interactive Rainbow Adventure! I'm Rainbow Brite, and I'll be your color guide during your time here. Before we get too far, I should probably introduce you to someone very special. Twink! He's the leader of the Sprites, and helps me power up my Rainbow powers through the use of Star Sprinkles. Pretty cool stuff, huh?
Starlight, the most magnificent horse in the Universe.
Andre Stojka, the original voice of Starlight, will be hard to match. He was able to give the perfect combination of over-confidence and self importance, while still maintaining a level of humility to Starlight. Additionally, the chemistry between Starlight and Rainbow is imperative. It MUST feel real, otherwise it simply will not work.
We need to believe that Starlight would do anything to save Rainbow, and that Rainbow would do anything to save Starlight.
Also, there might be some singing required for Starlight and Rainbow at some point. For the final line, do your best to deliver as many lines as you can from THIS SONG which was featured in the Rainbow Brite Movie.

Oh no, the Rainbow! Where did it go? [Rainbow Dialogue] Even I, the most magnificent horse in the Universe, can't fly without the Rainbow...But...[determined]...maybe I can still do something...MAGNIFICENT! [Starlight breaks their fall using his hooves against either side of a ravine.]
No. There is no way I am putting those THINGS on my feet. I refuse. I will NOT wear BOOTIES!
[Singing Spring: Starlight's Lines]
Twink
Twink is the only white Sprite - a fate which befell him when Murky Dismal threw him into The Pits where he lost his color. Rainbow Brite rescued him before he turned clear, and nursed him back to health. There is a friendly rivalry between Twink and Starlite because each likes to think of himself as Rainbow's protector, but she has a way of joking them out of their jealousies.
Twink is very fussy about color and likes to give orders to the other Sprites, but fortunately, they don't take him too seriously. Twink can speak English, which makes him quite useful when there are lots of Sprites present; he can translate!
There is lots of friendly rivalry between Twink and Starlite who both think that it is their duty to protect Rainbow.. Rainbow teases them about this and they are all really the best of friends. But, as Rainbow Brite's special friend, Twink thinks that he is the chief sprite and likes to order the other sprites about.

Rainbow, you got back here fast! But...[Rainbow Dialogue] You want us to take these color crystals...to the Pitts!?
Rainbow, look out! [Twink jumps in front of Rainbow to get hit by Murky's attack instead] Ooaeeeahhhggh! [Twink flies back and lands on the ground, injured] Ohhhh...
