Watchmen: Visual Novel - Chapter VIII - Old Ghosts

Watchmen: Visual Novel - Chapter VIII - Old Ghosts

Project Overview

"Never compromise. Not even in the face of Armageddon."

"Watchmen" (1986-1987) by Alan Moore and Dave Gibbons is one of the greatest and most seminal graphic novels of all time - and adapting the story into a visual novel has been a process in the making for the past four years.
The first half (Chapter I-VI) has already been adapted by me and my fellow voice actors in "Watchmen: Part I" - and the time has come for us to finally wrap this adaptation up with the second and final half of the story, that somehow becomes more relevant and timeless as times go on.

This project of ours features talented voice actors across the board, an original soundtrack and a clear, distinctive vision for what Alan Moore's penned words and Dave Gibbons illustrations should feel like.
Our goal, and mine as a director, is to make this project the most authentic and true adaptation of "Watchmen" possible - made by fans for fans, around the globe.

We are currently casting the second half (Chapter VII-XII) and we're looking for all sorts of voice talents that can help us bring this authentic and true vision of "Watchmen" come to life.

Backstory and plot of "Watchmen";

"Watchmen" is a comic book limited series by the British creative team of writer Alan Moore, artist Dave Gibbons and colorist John Higgins. It was published monthly by DC Comics in 1986 and 1987 before being collected in a single-volume edition in 1987. Watchmen originated from a story proposal Moore submitted to DC featuring superhero characters that the company had acquired from Charlton Comics. As Moore's proposed story would have left many of the characters unusable for future stories, managing editor Dick Giordano convinced Moore to create original characters instead.

Moore used the story as a means of reflecting contemporary anxieties, deconstructing and satirizing the superhero concept and making political commentary. Watchmen depicts an alternate history in which superheroes emerged in the 1940s and 1960s and their presence changed history so that the United States won the Vietnam War and the Watergate scandal was never exposed. In 1985, the country is edging toward World War III with the Soviet Union, freelance costumed vigilantes have been outlawed and most former superheroes are in retirement or working for the government.
The story focuses on the protagonists' personal development and moral struggles as an investigation into the murder of a government-sponsored superhero pulls them out of retirement.

Audition now and have the chance to be involved in a highly ambitious project that, hopefully, will stand the test of time as one of the better adaptations of Alan Moore and Dave Gibbons' masterpiece.

Down below you'll find "Watchmen: Part I", the first adapted half of the story.
