Ward University will be a teen drama type of series, but not really "teen" since the protagonists will be attending university. Like I said, it will be set in a university of arts where students specialize in different branches such as acting, music, film, dance, fine arts, and creative writing. The series will feature sporadic scenes of violence and drug use. Also, in order to participate, you need to be comfortable with sensitive topics such as racism and LGBTQ+ rights.
This is gonna be a long series, so please don't audition if you don't intend to commit to it. Of course I'll try to do what I can to not bother you too often - I intend to do recordings of more than one episode at a time so you don't have to do voice acting for me too often.
The characters showcased here are not the full cast of the series. I've been holding private auditions for the rest of the cast. These are just the characters I'm having a hard time finding voice actors for.

VOICE TYPE: Very expressive, this girl has a lot of character, she's warm-hearted and impulsive, she always shows her emotions - even when she doesn't want to.
Erika is a hip hop and r&b dancer. She's a major sweetiepie, very excitable and maybe a little naive sometimes. Loves sports, is a bit of a tomboy, is super friendly to everyone, has an older brother whom she loves very very much.
(Very embarrassed, blushing and crushing hard on the guy she's talking with) I… I, uh… I was looking for my brother, Jasper. Jasper Bell. Is he here?
(Very surprised and somewhat skeptical) What? Really? You’re gonna help me? (Pause) (Excited) Thank you SO much! It’s gonna be the best night EVER!
(Trying to be friendly, actually melancholic. This is a voicemail message.) Hey, Jas. It's Erika. I'm saying that because who knows if you still have my number. Since you haven't called for a while.
VOICE RANGE: Medium- High
VOICE TYPE: Gentle, Soft-spoken, Not too expressive, Classy
Fatima is a black muslim girl who wants to be an author. She also has a beauty channel on YouTube. She's very fierce and idealistic, cares deeply about the people she loves and doesn't take anyone's shit. She also has a quiet, calm demeanor, like she has all the patience in the world. She has a soothing voice and rarely panics.
(Doing a vlog) So the school is not like I imagined it. I guess it’s more… chaotic than I thought it would be? And that’s an understatement.
(Frustrated and a little disgusted) I feel like boys around here only care about two things: flirting and... getting wasted.
(Doing a vlog, which actually serves as narration for the episode. A bit like JD in Scrubs, lol) Changes are always scary. Whether you're changing your habits... (short pause) ...your goals... (short pause) ...or even the way you think of somebody. Me, for example? What I'm most afraid of, right now, is losing track of my roots.
VOICE RANGE: Medium- High (it gets more high pitched when he wants to emphasize something)
VOICE TYPE: He's a bit of a comic relief character, but he shouldn't sound dumb when he talks. He's actually very smart, one of the most brilliant people on the show.
Travis Lockheart should be a really fun character to play. He's a bit of a weirdo, always making meta jokes and breaking the fourth wall - he's aware of the fact that he lives in a life simulation game. He's a pansexual polyamorous musician.
All that glitters is not gold, you know? People in Del Sol Valley are VERY fond of their secrets.
(He's sort of presenting another character to his friend, as if he were a TV host) She's been a runway model since she was THREE. Featured on the cover of SimStyle Magazine when she was FIFTEEN. Only eats carbs on Mondays and Wednesdays.
Of course they're freshmen! All the symptoms are there. Nausea. Tremors. Profused sweating.

VOICE TYPE: Expressive, warm, talks a little faster and higher when he's angry
Jasper Bell mostly looks like a chill dude, and he wants everyone to think that of him. In reality, he's very insecure and demotivated. He's an artist (a painter) but he doesn't think he's that good - he definitely is, though.
(Stoned, at a party) Yooo, Erika! You finally made it! How you doing?
(Worried that he's gonna be exposed, a little shaky) Look, mum and dad don’t need to know. I’m doing my own thing, here, okay?
(Really really mad) Are you fucking serious, Tia!? Why did you bring her here!? How do you even know each other!?
VOICE RANGE: Medium-Low
VOICE TYPE: Mostly tries to be very serious and inexpressive but his emotions seep through when he's too angry or sad
Derek Fraser comes from an abusive childhood and has moved to his dead grandma's house to escape from his parents. He's lonely, dark, angry, moody and depressed. He's also gay, but he's not out yet, so he tries his best to act as macho as he can. He's of latin descent, but he doesn't need to have a latin american accent, a north american one will do just fine.
(Tries to be casual but is actually really pissed) So I heard they're doing a dance at your school. Kinda sucks that you didn't ask me to come with you.
(Angry and sad) So what the fuck do you expect me to do? Do you want me to be your side bitch? Fuck that. Fuck you.
VOICE RANGE: Medium
VOICE TYPE: He sometimes comes off as creepy and/or greasy or sketchy (mostly when he's talking to or about girls) but other than that he has a standard young adult boy voice.
Gideon is a jock and a douchebag. Most of the time. He treats women like pieces of meat, but he actually cares deeply about his best friend, and that's what makes him human. Gideon comes from a very poor family and some people call him "white trash" behind his back, which of course upsets him a lot. He's a very talented graffiti artist.
(Tries to be casual but is actually really worried) Dude, you gotta chill with those pills. You look like absolute crap.
I’m sure she’s just playing hard to get. Girls like her… when they say “no”, they mean “fuck yes”.
Cleo's dream is being a ballet dancer and eventually retiring to open her own ballet school, but her family doesn't really support her on that. She's very shy and reclusive, but she's also really empathetic and a good listener, if given the chance. Insecure, poised, kind soul. Her voice should be medium-high, gentle and very feminine - but not in the stereotypical cheerleader kind of feminine, she shouldn't be too expressive when she's talking cause, again, she's very shy and stiff. The role does need a wide emotional range, though, because she does get some emotional moments.
(Sad but not whiny, dance teacher is not satisfied with her) I’m sorry. I’ll try to do better.
(Angry, sad, frustrated screaming, close to tears) I can’t do this! I shouldn’t even be here! Professor Drawn was right all along!
(Pensive, a little melancholy) This is all new to me. I’ve never had any friends. I’ve always been alone.
Thorne Bailey is one of the main villains of the series. He used to be a famous singer and musician, but he got himself in trouble with the law and is now a fugitive. He's ruthless and selfish, and he doesn't care about ANYONE in his life, not even his own son. He should have a deep voice, and a little rough as well - but not too much, I don't want him to sound like a pirate or something, lol
(Whispering and panting a bit, he's been running) I’m in trouble. I’m in big, big trouble. I need you to let me stay, just until things cool down a bit.
(Shaky voice, sadness) She ruined my life! (Long pause, panting, screaming in anger and frustration) SHE RUINED MY LIFE!
(Charming villain style, even though what he's saying is not charming AT ALL lmao) Just because you’re my son, doesn’t mean I’m not gonna hurt you, OR your girlfriend. In fact, I would’ve been better off if you were never born. But I guess you already knew that.
Mei is a rich snob. She's been a model since she was very young and is very superficial and mean to everyone who she doesn't consider worthy of her attention. Her accent should be very posh and snobby, to the point of being almost ridiculous, while her voice should be kinda low - deeper than most "mean girls" you see around anyway. It's a very small role for the moment and you'll probably have to say a lot of offensive stuff on her behalf, so sorry in advance for that. :P

Lex used to be the hottest leading man in Del Sol Valley, but he decided to abandon his acting career to pursue music. His first album was a flop. His second album was also a flop. He basically made a fool of himself, and now he can't even go back to his old career because his image is forever ruined. Still, he was given the music professor role in Ward University. Almost as if Judith Ward, the headmaster, wanted to mock him. He's handsome but not very confident, at least not anymore. Despite being very famous and full of regrets, he's a kind and decent man, and has a warm voice and a warm way of addressing his students.
So this is your first year, right? Well, I guess we're on the same boat! [He tried to make the students laugh, but he did so very poorly, so of course no one in the class batted an eye.] Rule number one of comedy: it's not funny if you have to explain it. Oh, but this is a music class! What am I doing!? [Basically a fast descent into self-deprecation] [This should be kind of a silly moment, so nothing too dramatic]
[Talking to the other music professor] Look, it's probably best if you take care of this. I'm completely useless. I wouldn't trust my judgement if I were you.
Barry is a Creative Writing professor. He's the charming type. Everyone loves to have him as their teacher, but he also has a little bit of a bad reputation among some of the more observant students. Let's just say there are rumors stating he might have gotten too close with some of the students in the past. Or maybe he's just a bit of a flirt. Either way, the dude has secrets, and is definitely not as perfect as most people seem to think. But he does LOOK and SOUND perfect, so he shouldn't sound TOO creepy! :P

John Bates is a surly Film professor. He seems to hate everything around him and is very difficult to please. 100% convinced that all movies nowadays are just made of explosions and other special effects. I know he looks middle-aged in the picture, but he's actually going to have grey hair in the series, so he should be played as a senior. An angry, grumpy senior professor. That's it. That's the role.
Get that green screen away from me! I don't want to see it! I won't allow any of that VFX nonsense in my classroom!
Rule number 1: never EVER mention any of those ridiculous superhero movies in my presence. Get that smile off your face, young man! This is no joke. If I hear anyone say the name "Llama Man" in my classroom, I will have to take care of their defenestration myself!
There are a few adult female characters in the series that need a voice. I'm doing an audition for all of them, so feel free to give your own personal spin on the lines, no requirements. I need both white and black voices for this.
