πŸŽ™οΈ VOICEOVER CASTING CALL β€” POETIC NARRATION πŸŽ™οΈ

Project Overview

We’re looking for a voice actor or narrator for a short-form audio project. This is a single poem written by myself, based on the myth of Icarus. I thought it deserved an emotional, raw, worn sounding voice to complete it! Audio will be posted on my tiktok alongside the rest of my poems. :)

The tone of this poem is more bittersweet and somber. We’re looking for a voice to portray raw, emotional revelation and declaration, not only of love, but acceptance of death by it. So muster up all the grief, sorrow, and love you got, and give it a shot! VO artists of all genders are welcome to audition, though a male voice is preferred. :) Audition lines only offer 3 slots, so the full script will be pasted below. Audition submission WILL be used as the official audio:

If you were the Sun, I would be Icarusβ€”

not out of pride, not for glory. I was no fool with wax and wings.

I knew. God, I knew.

You were ruin.

You were everything.

And still, I rose.

Not to conquer the skyβ€”

but to feel your warmth on my flesh.

I welcomed itβ€”skin blistering

with every golden glimpse.

I didn’t fall.

I offered myself.

What is flight

but a prayer in motion?

What is ruin

but the price of loving something too bright?

Even as feathers blackened,

even as bone split sky,

I smiled.

Because you,

bright god of my undoing,

were watching.

And if I burnedβ€”

if I brokeβ€”

at least it was by your light.
