Part of the "Pokémon Retranslated" project created by SwordGuy17, a fan-project hoping to re-dub and altogether re-translate the entire Pokémon franchise from start to finish (or at least to whatever's current at the time).
We hope to find a voice for Shigeru (known in the original translation as Gary) that closely resembles the Japanese one in terms of attitude and tone, but we're open to different interpretations.

Shigeru Orchid is a recurring character who appeared in the Pokémon anime. He is a Pokémon Researcher from Newhite Town (Pallet Town) and grandson of Dr. Orchid (Professor Oak). He is a childhood friend of Satoshi and his main rival in the original series.
At the start of the series, he is very arrogant and mean-spirited specifically towards Satoshi, but changes his ways over the course of the series.
Oh hey, is that you Satoshi? Yup, yup, yup, it's Mr. Satoshi-boy! Late right off the bat, huh, Satoshi?
That's "Shigeru Orchid" to you, show a little respect. However, if you're late like this already, then, as my rival, you've lost right from the start.
