Mariana 627

A short surreal low budget sci fi comedy, following a number of conversations between a lazy blue collar worker and the AI system sent to replace him. Very much in the tone of John Carpenters 70s sci fis such as Darkstar.

The film has been shot and is now passing through the edit, but we still don't have a voice actor for our AI system 'iZak' so are now widening our search. Unfortunately due to our budget we can't pay, but certainly will cover any expenses and potentially be able to do all the VO work remotely.

iZak is an Integrated Artificial Intelligence system sent over to the 'Mariana 627' facility to help remove workforce and create automation. He is a learning AI who learns form the facilities' lone worker Kurt (a blue collar drone).

Whilst iZak begins as a faceless and emotionless machine, he begins to develop a personality, one that mirror's Kurt's laziness, cynicism, sarcasm & sass.
We're quite open as to the voice, age, accent etc. Our main reference points are HAL from 2001 and Gerty from Moon, but very open to people's interpretation. We like how these AIs still have a human sounding voice, but with machine-like tone. That being said we're not afraid of potentially putting some robotic filters to the voice over.

  • PLEASE DEMONSTRATE HOW TO OPERATE THIS FACILITY.

  • BUT OUR PURPOSE HERE IS TO AWAIT THE RINGING OF THE BELL, CORRECT? TO DETECT SIGNALS?

  • NEWSFLASH SKIP, YOU TAUGHT ME THIS ENTIRE OPERATION WAS A SHIT SHOW, AND NOW YOU EXPECT ME TO CARE?
