Long ago, before the existence of humans, monsters, angels, demons, or any life upon Earth, reality was empty. Only one place existed. A dark dimension made entirely of pure void.

Within this endless darkness lived ancient beings born from nothingness itself. These beings were known as the Phantoms. They possessed no true bodies, no blood, and no age. They existed as living fragments of the void.

The Phantoms lived under the rule of a single leader. The first Phantom. The strongest. The primordial ruler. The Alpha.

The Alpha ruled the Phantom Dimension with absolute authority. None dared challenge him. Those who opposed his will were swiftly destroyed.

Among the countless Phantoms, one secret remained hidden. A forbidden entity sealed away by the Alpha himself. That entity was Nytheris.

Nytheris was not a Phantom. It was something older, darker, and far more dangerous. Even the Alpha feared the consequences of setting it free. Thus, a single law was established. Nytheris must never be released.

For ages, that law remained unbroken. Until one Phantom chose to defy it. His name was Phanty Noircrest. History would remember him by another name. The Traitor.

Unlike the others, Phanty questioned the Alpha's rule. His true motives remain unknown. Some believe he sought freedom from the Alpha's tyranny. Others believe he desired the power Nytheris possessed. Whatever his reasons, Phanty committed the greatest act of betrayal in Phantom history. He freed Nytheris.

Realizing the danger he had unleashed, Phanty hid both himself and Nytheris within the depths of the void, hoping to escape the Alpha's wrath.

When the Alpha discovered the betrayal, his anger knew no limits. He blamed the Phantom race itself for what had happened. And so he made his decision. The Phantoms would cease to exist.

The Alpha unleashed a genocide upon his own people. Entire populations vanished. Civilizations disappeared. The world of the Phantoms was reduced to silence. From that moment onward, their former home became known as the Void Dimension. An empty land inhabited only by the Alpha himself.

Yet not all Phantoms perished. A small number managed to escape. Broken. Disfigured. Stripped of most of their power.

With no home left to return to, the surviving Phantoms used what little strength remained within them to create a new world. They shaped the oceans. They raised the mountains. They formed the skies and the stars above them. They gave birth to life itself. Humans. Monsters. Animals. Every living creature upon Earth owes its existence to the last surviving Phantoms.

Meanwhile, Phanty Noircrest remained hidden alongside Nytheris. He soon realized that the entity could never be allowed to exist freely. To prevent its release, he created a solution. Vessels.

A vessel is a host created to contain Nytheris and conceal its existence from the world. Each vessel bears the burden of imprisoning the entity within themselves. But such a burden comes at a terrible cost. The vessel slowly suffers. Their body weakens. Their mind deteriorates. Their life becomes a sacrifice made for the safety of others. When one vessel can no longer endure, another must take its place. Generation after generation, the cycle continues.

Thus, Phanty Noircrest became both the cause of the world's greatest threat and the only thing preventing that threat from awakening. He is the reason Nytheris still exists. He is also the reason Nytheris remains imprisoned. Should the cycle of vessels ever come to an end, Nytheris may finally break free from its confinement. And if that day comes... No one knows what will remain of the world the Phantoms created.

Yet humanity continues to live in peace. Unaware of the ancient war. Unaware of the fallen Phantom race. Unaware of the entity hidden behind centuries of sacrifice.

But secrets cannot remain buried forever.
