Upshot Affairs | A LEGO 3D Animated Crime Thriller Film

Upshot Affairs | A LEGO 3D Animated Crime Thriller Film

Project Overview

This 3D animated Brickfilm is the first chapter in the intertwined story of a psychotic vigilante and a local contract-killing duo. This chapter takes the first step into the world of Ricky Walker, a hitman with the dream of becoming a Hollywood stuntman, but the threat of the vigilante known as "The Mop" threatens him and his friends, and forces him to put that hope aside. The series is an action/thriller/comedy and is my follow-up project to my last animation, The 313th: A Star Wars Story. This first chapter will come out at around twenty minutes long.

  • Casting has been made!

Hello everyone! I just want to make an announcement to say that all roles have been decided on and now the casting call has been closed. There were so many auditions that frankly I was overwhelmed and I cannot thank you all enough for being interested in the project. Each decision was nowhere near easy, yet unfortunately only one person for each role could be cast. For those of you who did get cast, congratulations! For those of you who did not, I still want to say that I’m eternally grateful to you, so many of you came so close, the decision was incredibly difficult. If the project goes well and chapter 2 is a possibility, there will be many more roles open, so I would be so happy to see you all come back for another go! I cannot thank you all enough, Have a wonderful day and good luck on your future voice acting endeavours!

Ricky is an early 30's contract-killer male who has dreams of becoming a Hollywood Stuntman. He's the smarter, and less talky of the two, but he's the likable lead with a passion for movies and a good sense of humor. Prefers to let Bobby do the talking on the job, but isn't afraid to crack a good insult at his buddy. He's just a normal dude, nothing too stereotypical in the hitman kind, just the kind of guy you could grab a beer with and have no idea he is actually a killer. Worry less about the voice, but mainly the persona of that kind of dude.

  • "I'm not gonna sit here and take grammar lessons from a dude who didn't graduate high school."

  • ********The lines in quotations********

***After committing a contract killing and realizing they killed the wrong person. He is very casual about it and not panicking, just making an observation. His partner's response makes him more frustrated than the actual act.***

    "This is the wrong guy."

    What?

    "This is the wrong guy."

The hell you mean it's the wrong guy?

"I mean it's the wrong guy what you do want me to say?!"

    That it's the right guy.

    "...Well, it isn't."

  • **making a joke, telling his partner he should "try" this thing he saw in a movie"

"So there was this dude right, and then another dude. And the second dude shoved the first dude’s head into a vice, and then he squeezed it really hard."

**basically telling his partner he should get killed in a vice because he's being annoying**

(Early 30's) Bobby is the loud one, if he wasn't a hitman he'd make a killer salesman. His ability to take complete control over a conversation and interrogate his opponent is incredible. The only one who sees through this is his partner in crime Ricky. He has three persona's, firstly, his normal self who's an arrogant and somewhat likable jokester who teases his partner. He thinks he's top dog, but he's really sort of dumb. Second is his hitman persona, an act which he puts on while interrogating his victims. It's a very intimidating interrogation act, where he manages to appear like someone you wouldn't wanna mess with. Not because he's yelling, but because of his stoic intimidating tone. That's not to say he won't yell when the time is right though. It's a tactic. Finally, his plumbing persona, the act he puts on when he's pretending to be a real plumber (which he isn't), he pretends to be nicer than he is, and very welcoming, and a very good salesman.

A lot to take in yes, but hopefully, the direction helps! Good luck

  • **making a joke in response to being made fun of, he's trying to hold in a smile as well as he says it**

"Yeah, well I hope your fingers transform into sharp fishing hooks, and then all of a sudden you get a nice itch in your balls."

  • ***He's trying to act intimidating, and doing a very good job**

"That's the worst goddamn apology I ever heard."

  • **putting on a character, acting like a typical plumber (but it's just an act)**

"Oh, you see, but you did, you just didn't know it. We can come take a look at your plumbing and replace anything needed free of charge."

Role assigned to: Tom Laflin

(Late 30's, early 40's) Bill is a psychotic, damaged individual looking to bring justice to those who commit immoral acts. He's a ruthless killer who sees himself as a servant for a higher power. Bill is a thinker, he's crazy but he's intelligent and highly strategic. He doesn't speak unless he has something to say, and when he does, it's effective. In this episode, he doesn't speak as much, but for potential future chapters his mental stability is challenged and an actor with good range will be needed. The third line is not from this chapter but from a future chapter.

He has a built-up rage inside of him from over the years, but he does a very good job at keeping it under control. What you instead hear most of the time is this alluring, intimidating calm voice that's very well-spoken. But it has that creepy vibe to it. Think of him as a cross between Jake Gyllenhaal in Nightcrawler, and Chigurh in No Country for Old Men.

  • **sarcasm**

"My birthday wasn’t this morning, mate."

*the mate part is mocking another characters English accent, he has a North American accent**

  • "Or how bout’ I just sit here and wait for you to bleed out and die. Seeing as that time is nearer than you would like to admit."

  • ***The built up raging finally coming out***

"I was stuck in a little concrete room for seven years... While you... while you're out here living like a free man! Living the dream. But you've probably killed more people than I have. How exactly is that fair? Explain it to me, please... I'm trying real hard to understand"

CJ is a rich homeowner and a victim of Ricky and Bobby's contract. He's a rich powerful man who's easily brought down to his knees when his life is threatened. He can offer money, but that's not what they want...

  • "I swear on my wife's life I don't know what you are on about. My name is not even Denis what the fu-"

  • "I'm sorry! I'm sorry for what I may
have done. Whatever it was, truly,
It's my fault and should never have
    happened. Hopefully, you can forgive
    me."

  • "What else would you want?"

Davis is another contract killer, who talks his mouth off to distract himself from the fact that he is bleeding to death. He's an English or Australian fella, and is the kind of guy who talks to fill the silence in a room.

Sort of like Klaw from Black Panther, with that crazy vibe to him.

  • **bleeding out slowly, in pain but trying to distract himself by talking. Blood filling his lungs slowly***

"What did you do to end up in the same prison as Argo? One bloody bastard, you must be then eh?"

  • **bleeding out slowly, in pain but trying to distract himself by talking. Blood filling his lungs slowly***

"I'm just screwin' with ya. Ya look like a swell guy. Ya know, ya should be thankful to us mate, I swear we wasn't gonna kill ya."

  • ****Holding his bleeding neck****

"Oh. You got me there pretty good mate didn’t ya."

CJ's wife, and more collateral to their contract. She is a nice lady on the surface, but it's just a cover-up as she is a willing cooperative of her husband's illegal business.

  • "Um, I didn't call for any plumbers."

  • "Sounds like fake news to me."

  • "Just be quiet while you’re at it. I have guests over."
