Unhandled Exception
Project Overview
We are seeking creative talent (Voice Actors, Writers, and Digital Artists) for a new, unannounced digital narrative. This is a psychological and conspiratorial thriller told through a series of "found" audio logs, fragmented digital files, and "in-world" media.
Tone & Atmosphere: The tone is grounded in realism, exploring themes of digital surveillance, corporate overreach, and liminal spaces. We are building an atmosphere that is tense and paranoid, relying on quiet, existential dread rather than overt horror. Think "found footage" meets corporate espionage. The aesthetic is a mix of clean, cold corporate design and the "noise" of corrupted data and broken systems.
Narrative & Structure: The narrative is not always straightforward. Much of the story is designed to be discovered by an active audience rather than simply told. We are looking for creatives who enjoy building layered content: leaving digital breadcrumbs, hiding information in plain sight, and creating files (audio, visual, or text) that have a hidden meaning or reward a second look.
This is a project where a simple audio file might contain a visual secret (spectrogram), a corporate memo might use a hidden cipher, and a "broken" image file might be the key to the next piece of the story.
Who We Are Looking For: This project values subtlety and realism above all else.
VAs: We want natural, non-performative deliveries. We want to hear a real person, not a "character voice."
Writers/Artists: We want work that could be mistaken for a real-world artifact. Authenticity is the primary goal.
This is a remote, non-union, paid-per-assignment project. We are looking for reliable, discreet, and versatile creatives who are interested in building a complex and mysterious world from the ground up.

A voice that is professional, dispassionate, and unnervingly calm. Must be able to deliver complex or alarming information as if it were a standard corporate memo.
Neutral, cold, detached, bureaucratic.

"Your non-compliance has been noted. Please be advised that any further deviation will result in immediate service termination."
(Calmly) "All staff are to disregard the auditory hallucinations. This is a known and controlled side-effect of the new system."
"We have logged your 'ethics' complaint. It has been filed, processed, and archived. No further action is required on your part."
Seeking a voice that sounds guarded and urgent. This person knows they shouldn't be talking and is taking a great risk. The performance should feel like a hushed, clandestine meeting.
Low, fast-paced, paranoid, conspiratorial.

(Hushed, urgent) "Stop using your phone. They're not just monitoring calls, they're reading your drafts. Use the old methods."
(Whispering) "I don't have much time. The file you're looking for isn't called 'archive'—it's hidden in the error logs. Look for '410'."
"You have to get out. It's not a server, it's a trap. They're not watching you, they're waiting for you. Go now!"
A voice that sounds disconnected from time. They speak in riddles and warnings. It's unclear if they are a guide, a prophet, or a threat.
Cryptic, knowing, patient, slightly unsettling.

(Calmly, as if stating a fact) "You are looking for an exit, but you're confusing the door with the key. You've had the key all along."
(Almost amused) "The little 'error' you keep seeing? That is the old world trying to pull you back. Don't let it."
"You think you are the first? Many have walked this path. They all made the same mistake... they trusted the voice that sounded like their own."
This person is discovering the "truth" in real-time. We are looking for a voice that can convey genuine confusion, dawning realization, and panic. This is the "audience" voice.
Naturalistic, confused, reactive, escalating to frightened.

(Confused, slightly annoyed) "What? No, that's not what I typed. Why does it keep... why is it deleting what I'm writing?"
(Dawning realization) "Wait... that file name. 'Project_Umbra'. That's... that's the name of my old high school mascot. How could you know that?"
(Panicked) "Okay, this isn't funny! That's a live feed of my room! How are you doing this?! Who is this?!"
A clean, clear, and helpful voice, like an automated system or a helpdesk assistant. Must be able to maintain a friendly, polite, and completely artificial-sounding tone, regardless of what the script says.
Artificial, chipper, patient, emotionless.

(Pleasantly) "Thank you for holding! Your call is very important to us. Did you know you can find answers to most questions in our digital compliance portal?"
(Chipper) "I see you're experiencing a reality fracture! No problem. A maintenance team has been dispatched to your location."
(Friendly, robotic) "I'm sorry, I'm not authorized to process the query 'am I in danger?' Would you like me to reset your password instead?"
