Unforgiven - Short Horror Radio Play

Unforgiven - Short Horror Radio Play

Project Overview

Hello! I am casting for a horror radio play with the current working title “Unforgiven.”

The finished project will be released on my YouTube channel, "The Talkback Tapes", as well as its feed on apple podcasts and Spotify.

I do these projects as a way to practice sound editing, so having a high quality microphone is a must. The play is approximately 6 minutes long, and is almost entirely a monologue, besides a few lines bookending the speech.

Entire Plot Synopsis:

“Haunted by a tragic accident from his past, David contacts the local police department and tell the homicide detective his story. 25 years prior, whilst driving under the influence and alcohol and sleep deprivation, he struck and killed a hiker deep in the woods.

Afraid of the possible consequences, he fled the scene and told no one. Despite the gruesome scene he left behind, he never heard news of the crime scene being discovered. He was almost able to convince himself it was a dream.

However, fate has a cruel sense of timing. A year later, on the anniversary of that night, a storm brings back the memories. Not only that, but it also brings a visitor. The victim himself, obscured by shadow, but David could recognize the silhouette anywhere. The shadow does nothing but watch, and by the morning it's gone.

This eerie cycle repeats itself annually, synchronizing with the storm's return. Each year, the spectre draws closer, one step at a time, intensifying David's torment. This continues for 20 years until the figure is at his doorstep, trying to gain entry into his house.

Overwhelmed and tired of running, David decides to finally face the consequences of his actions. He confesses to everything. Simultaneous, he reveals to the detective he left his door unlocked. Be it jail or supernatural justice, he just wants the guilt to end.”
