Project Overview
Welcome to Undertale: True Genocide
This is a Undertale musical. Other content creators such as “Man on the Internet” and “LemonLight Productions” have inspired me to create such a project.
This musical however is different from ones you may have seen before, I am not retelling the genocide route, this is an original story I have created specifically for this musical. I will be using both regular/slowed down versions of normal Undertale songs, as well as fan made music that is already fairly well known in the community. All lyrics for each song I have created myself.
Brief Summary of the True Genocide:
This story takes place in a timeline after Frisk sold their soul to Chara. Chara, now controlling the body of Frisk and constructs a knife out of her own determination that has the ability to trap the soul of a victim when they are killed by it. Chara’s goal and reason for doing this is the whole mystery. Similar to Undertale, pieces to the truth can be gathered by those who look deep enough.
Because Chara traps all her victims, she never actually gains any LV. This means she is fighting everyone she encounters while still remaining at level 1.
Chara has fighting experience from past timelines. This is why she will still be able to hold her own and defeat monsters while only being at level 1.
Think of this whole thing as genocide hard mode if you will.
That’s all I can say for now. Don’t want to spoil too much. Hopefully what I’m telling you now has caught your interest.
Reason for doing this:
I created this musical narrative because of my love for the lore of Undertale and because I so much admired how various YouTubers could make their own unique lyrics just from their knowledge of the story.
I wanted to make a musical but also retell Undertale in a different way. So in the end I decided to create my own story
To be completely honest I was never one for the countless Undertale AU’s out there. I don’t like the fact how some differ so much from the original Undertale story. I realize what I have created here is technically an AU itself but allow me to explain my reasons for this.
First off I wanted to do something different from all the standard musicals out there.
Pacifist, Genocide, hell there’s even a musical about the neutral run out there. If I just popped another one of those out, then there would be no originality in mine. It would be just like everyone else and I wouldn’t receive much of an audience because of it.
Also I genially like the story I have created. It’s more of a modified Genocide run then a whole separate universe I like to believe.
The idea of pacifist songs sung in a more menacing tone is a big part of what I wanted to do here. I wanted this to happen whilst having a story that made some kind of sense in the whole lore of Undertale. That’s why I went with the knife, allowing the player not to one hit kill everything they see, it leads to new possibilities for interactions and bosses.
That’s basically why I created this musical. I had a passion for creating my own, and wanted to be original at doing it.
Auditions:
Alright enough rambling, let’s discuss how you can be apart of this project!
I am seeking 2 key components to create this dream project. Singers/actors and artists. Writing, story, and video/music editing are already taken care of.
Every character will have a singing role(s) and most will have some kind of dialogue before or after each song. Characters with only singing roles will only have to sing a song in their audition, while voice acting characters will have to do both singing & voice acting in their auditions. There will be both solos and duets depending on the chapter.
As to avoid spoiling certain dialogue and lyrics, I will ask you to sing a random song of your choice as the character you audition for, also I will be asking you to speak 2 pieces of dialogue if you choose a character with a voice acting role.
I realize I’m asking a little more than most in your auditions but regardless, please still try and maintain consistent time. No samples too short and don’t go on for an incredibly long time, You do not need to sing the entire song, I just need a sample of what you can do.
Recommendations for getting a voice acting role:
- Good mic quality
- Little to no background noise
- Basic knowledge of music software such as “Audacity “

Eventually a YouTube channel will be created and you will be credited for your time and effort at the end of every video as well as in each video’s description.

Deadline Extended
Hey, Kelon here. I want to thank everyone who has sent in auditions this past month. You guys are helping me make this dream a reality. I have been getting requests to extend the deadline and I feel that it would be good option. The new deadline will be March 21st, a week added to the original deadline. SINGERS/VOICE ACTORS: I am very impressed with the voice auditions presented, I’d expect some of you to be landing more than one role in fact. Hopefully I can get to view a few more before the new deadline. ART: If you couldn’t tell already by the updated title, my major focus now is gaining more artists. I am already really liking the current auditions, but I’d still like to receive a few more to split up the work. If we do not reach enough artists even by the extended deadline then all will not be lost. I will be speaking to the current applicants about increasing their compensation for more work if they are interested. Thanks again everyone. -

Hello everyone. I apologize for 2 updates in a row but this one is kinda major. First off I need to say that I am very serious about this project and I’ve worked too hard on this to let it go unnoticed. The response has been amazing so far voice acting wise, but I feel that if I’m actually going to be getting visuals than I need to offer some kind of incentive. I understand that art is difficult and time consuming, so I'm here to announce that I will now be paying you for your efforts. Each artist will be paid $10 for creating art in each chapter, this rate can stack if you choose to do multiple chapters. I believe this is more than generous considering I haven’t come across any Undertale related content on this website actually compensating their employees in any such way. I hope some of you guys will consider auditioning for the artists role now. Have a good afternoon everyone. -

It's been almost a week since I first started auditions for this project and I want to thank to everyone who has submitted an audition. I am already seeing some very good auditions this early into the project. I just have one suggestion for you all, please consider auditioning for multiple roles in case your first one isn't chosen. I feel like some of you would excell in other roles so don't be afraid to at least take a shot at it. Also If your good enough you could even land yourself multiple roles in this musical. The chorus will be a big and important part of the musical, they have parts in the beginning all the way to the end. The chorus will take the role of the monsters who are trapped by Chara. They will sing in duets alongside many of the main characters in the musical.
I’m looking for distress in your voice, these monsters have lost it all and cling to what little hope they have left for a savior to free them from their prison.

Such as many other Undertale musicals, art will be the main visual focus of the musical. I’m not just creating a musical, I’m creating a story that I would love to see come to life visually.
Art will be split up into chapters and parts within chapters, you will be able to choose which chapter you would like to create art for. $10 is the amount you will receive for the completion of each chapter, if you choose to create art for more than one chapter than the money will stack. You will normally be responsible for 2-3 pieces of art. There are 13 chapters in all.
