Welcome to Set 3 of auditions for Undertale: The Musical by B4I8 Productions! We have divided our auditions into five sections, this being the third of them. The fourth and fifth will not be held for a while, but we have already casted characters in our first and second set.
This will be a musical based on the Pacifist runthrough of the game, meaning no Megalovania. Sorry, guys.
This production contains 100% original orchestrations, 98% original lyrics (the 2% being One True Love), a script in the official Samuel French theatre format, and an extremely friendly all-star cast that would love to have you on our team.
If you are cast, you may not be recording for a while. I am opening this audition as the lyrics and dialogue have been written in the script. This means that the orchestrations are not completed, and it takes a bit to write orchestrations. It's probably the hardest job in the entire group to do.
Please note that the script will not be entirely lining up with the game. Orders may change, lines will be altered, major points in the game will be cut simply because of time, or because illustrating a story through a musical and illustrating a story through a game take two very different methods.

1) If you are auditioning with a song that is not widely known, please sing with a backing track. It can either be playing in the background live while you are singing, or if you are able to, you can enter it professionally into your recording. The only songs that are allowed to be sung acapella are extremely common songs (i.e. Happy Birthday, You Are My Sunshine, Tomorrow, Amazing Grace, etc.)
2) This is a professional project. Please do not audition if you are someone recording in their closet embarrassed trying to keep their parents from hearing... while recording on their iPad. I was that kid too, once. Several roles require lots of shouting, singing extremely loudly, making goofy noises or exclamations, etc. And our audio editor can only remove so much background noise.
3) Speaking of which, please do what you must to remove all background noise. It's okay if you don't know how to do so with Audacity, neither do I, but I don't want to hear your family in the background.
4) This is an extremely long term project. Please keep this in mind. If you are cast, please do not drop out because it is too long.
5) A few people will be selected for callbacks for the bigger roles. The dogs will not be, as there is not enough material for them to have a callback. If you are chosen for a callback, you will have the option of immediately being cast in chorus. After all the callbacks have been turned in, someone will be cast in the role, as well as an understudy. If you are not cast, or receive understudy, this may mean I want you to play a role that better suits you. Please do not be salty about this.
6) If you are auditioning for Sans and/or Papyrus, please also audition for at least one of the dogs. If you do not, I may ask you to also do a sample recording of a dog if you receive a callback.
7) If you are tone deaf and did not realize this, prepare for your wakeup call.
8) If you didn't read all of this and follow the rules just listed, and/or if you did not do the same with the details of the part you are auditioning for, you will not be cast.
9) Let me know if you can read music, sight read, sing harmony, etc. That will get you bonus points, as we do have sheet music!

If you haven't yet seen, I posted an audition for Monster Kid. I realized that Monster Kid is gonna need to be in Set 3, when I originally thought he was going to be in Set 4. But now he's here. So, if you want to, please audition for Monster Kid!
I will do my best to give a serious critique to all of you. Except if you're in cast. If you see a silly critique, it means that person is in the main cast already (i.e. Smokestack Jeffy as Asgore, Riley as Frisk), and I have given them their critique privately. I am giving people who have already been cast in chorus serious critiques.
Boy Soprano
I want a female to play this part, or a boy whose voice has not changed. If you're looking for an age for about which to play, he's the youngest kid (excluding the souls) and would probably be played at about 7, if this were live.
Monster Kid is a bit of a fanboy, and very stubborn, but also very adorable.
Yo, you're... You're a human, right? Ha! I knew it! Well, uh, Undyne said I can't be friends with you, since you're human and all, so, can you say something mean? So that we're not friends?
Guys, knock it off! It's not funny!
Yo! Did you see that?! Undyne just... TOUCHED ME!!! I am never washing my face again!
Baritone
Sans is an extremely lackadaisical skeleton, and we must hear this in his voice. He also shows a great deal of emotional contrast through just small, slight changes in his voice. He must how extreme joy, but also extreme sorrow. He seems to sometimes put on a front, but behind that smile, there's something inside that is eating away at him.
(laughs) The old whoopie cushion in the hand trick. It’s always funny. I’m Sans, by the way. Sans the Skeleton. Hey, you’re human, right? That's hilarious!
Actually, hey, hate to bother you, but could you do me a favor? I was thinking, my brother’s been kind of down lately. He’s never seen a human before, and seeing you might just make his day. Don’t worry! Like I said, he’s not dangerous, even if he tries to be.
(serious) So you finally made it. The end of your journey is at hand. In a few moments, you will meet the king. Together, you will determine the future of this world. That's then. Now. You will be judged. You will be judged for your every action. You will be judged for every person you've ever hurt. You will be judged for all the Love you've earned. Love is an acronym. It stand for Level of Violence. A way of measuring someone's capacity to hurt. Your Love increases the more you kill. It all makes sense now, doesn't it?

Doggo can only see moving things, so he may be a little bit older. He has a gruff voice. He is the toughest of the bunch.
Humans are ruthless! They kill without mercy! We have to be on the lookout for one always!

Tenor with an extended low and high range
This character does have an extremely wide range of singing. I will probably have to craft Bonetrousle around your range, if you are cast.
Papyrus is an extremely ambitious, yet naive skeleton. He dreams of being in the Royal Guard, but, as a certain fish lady says, "He's too nice to hurt anyone." He is extremely high energy, meaning most of his lines will probably sound like shouting, which means you MUST be able to record without being afraid of being heard, because you will be heard.
You’re supposed to be looking out for humans, you lazybones! It’s been eight days and you still haven’t recalibrated your puzzles! You just hang around outside your station! You’re supposed to be working!
