Under Maintenance Visual Novel
Project Overview
Please note: This is an UNPAID project. We are a new game development team and this is our first project that we are submitting for OtomeJam 2022. This will be a partially voiced game.
Introducing “Under Maintenance” a slice-of-life dramedy where you play as a 30-something otome obsessed retail manager, who has given up on dating and real life romance for good. Well, that’s until her 2D husbandos undergo maintenance for an undetermined amount of time. Just wanting to relax after one of the hardest days of her life, she sets out to give 3D men another shot of love.
REQUIREMENTS
You must be 18 years or older to audition for this project.

Please only audition if you are going to be active and committed to said project
Please do not have echo or major background noise in your audition! Minimal background noise is okay, for it can be removed.
Please include your discord in your audition; this will be our main way of communication

A 28 yr old charming bartender/insecure musician, Luca is torn between going after his dream or staying put and playing it safe. He’s flirty and easy on the eyes.
“Would you change your mind, if I told you I just wanted to spend more time with you?" (flirty)
“Oh my god.. You’re a virgin and you’re tired of waiting for ''‘the right one’'', so now you’re looking for someone to take your virginity! I sign up as tribute!” (Excited)
“I never want to give someone the wrong idea. I made that mistake once with her.. I went over for dinner, and.. let's just say it got a little uncomfortable towards the end..” (thoughtful, then nervous laughter)
A 33-year-old divorcee and employee at the Pear store. Lacks purpose and confidence. Has a lot of hobbies but never seems to commit to any of them. All book smarts and no street smarts. A little neurotic, but he’s doing his best.

“You’re sure you don’t want to abandon ship? You still have time to get away.” (nervous)
“Is it a little embarrassing because you’re fibbing about it?” (flirty)
A 32-year old car mechanic, who likes fixing things others would rather just throw away. Generally calm and collected, but sometimes lets his frustrations get the best of him. Had a rebellious drummer streak in the past, but has decided to trade that in for being for his family and staying put. Still uses a flip-phone.
"I do need a new phone, but I also really want to see you again." (sultry/flirty)
"One latte for the cute lady!" (sweet)
"Yes, I'm messed up. Is that what you want to hear? I fuck someone, I fall in love, they leave. Rinse and repeat. Taking out the first step sounds like a good way to change the cycle, doesn't it?" (Frustrated)
A 30-yr old man child still reliving his glory years from high school. He tends to heckle newcomers to the town, causing inconveniences to everyone. Despite that, he’s rather harmless - just annoying. Side Character.
"I've seen your kind. You're just here until something better shows up. Then you'll run back to your big city dream. But us?… we're all stuck in this small town nightmare." (Frustrated)
"Of course. They actually have a decent one here, surprisingly. Hey Luca! Make one for me! I'll take care of the lady's too." (Flirty - think ‘smarmy’)
