Project Overview
What is this project?
We will be dubbing over the main story and side character stories of the popular gacha/sports simulation/visual novel game Umamusume: Pretty Derby! This project will be going over the visual novel segments of the game in particular in order to recreate the experience that Japanese players have across the newly booming English fanbase.
If you aren't familiar with Umamusume previously, that's okay too! For those of you who aren't, Umamusume revolves around a species of humanoid horse girls with heightened abilities in terms of speed, stamina, and strength. It is in these girls' nature to run, and so they participate in races similar to real-life horse racing, each girl being based off a real-life horse counterpart. They attend a school dedicated to this racing called Tracen Academy!
As this is a fan-made passion project, we're pretty lax on the requirements, especially since each position is unpaid. That being said, though, you are much more likely to be casted if your audition is done with a good quality mic (or well-edited audio clip) that features very little peaking, background noise, or audio flares. These characters are also incredibly emotive and often strong-willed, so actors will be expected to cover a wide range of emotions without sounding bored or dropping their voice.
Another important requirement is discord. Discord is non-negotiable, as it will be where actors can interact with each other, roles will be assigned, and scripts will be given. Auditions sent on CCC are also subject to being crossposted onto our audition categories on discord for ease of casting for our staff. Since this project covers the umamusume main story, some find themselves eager to also dub over the animated version, which has the same premise in a slightly altered universe. That being said, a full-length animated dub is totally attainable, but we would need a much bigger cast of actors, editors, and directors! Therefore, if the game version goes well, the anime may also be in our future to create.
Other vital detailsOur most important rule is that the use of any sort of generative AI, be it chatGPT or voice mimicking, is strictly forbidden. If you are found using generative AI, your audition will be immediately disqualified or your position terminated.
Also, we accept actors of all races, accents, and cultures. This includes transgender actors. Everyone is expected to be kind to these actors and all others, and judgement/discourse is also strictly forbidden.

This role is responsible for overlaying our voice actor's lovely voices over videos of the official umamusume story! It should be incredibly simple. This may also include putting pre-determined english translations over japanese text to make the story readable to our target audience.

She often turns down invitations from others by making excuses.
She is extremely dedicated to her goals, sometimes pushing herself too much.
Noisy places are hard for her, and she loves calm, peaceful environments.
She is a secret romantic and loves reading and stargazing.
She especially enjoys soft, fluffy things and has a habit of reviewing how fluffy slippers are.
Admire Vega is touched when called "Big Sister" and unconsciously grabs her tail while sleeping.

Agnes Digital is abnormally passionate about other horse girls to the point of being a true otaku. She is cheerful, open, and has strong likes and dislikes. She always stays polite and never behaves in a way that bothers others, even though her intense adoration can sometimes overwhelm those around her.She calls all other horse girls “Uma Musume-chan” and gets excited whenever she sees them. She loves being close to her "idols" and even creates her own doujinshi to celebrate them. She often mixes in internet slang and anime terms while speaking.When she feels a strong "emo vibe," even her ears stand on end!

Equal parts researcher and runner, Agnes Tachyon pursues the limits of speed with the power of science. She will stop at nothing to quench her pure thirst for knowledge, performing all manner of experiments on living subjects—unauthorized, dangerous experiments, at that. Her extreme tunnel vision means that without someone to support her, day-to-day necessities quickly fall to the wayside.

Air Groove is a talented and strict Umamusume who works as the vice president of Tracen Academy's student council and serves as Symboli Rudolf’s right-hand. She’s known for her cool appearance and strong sense of pride. Air Groove is admired by many younger students, who see her as their “Empress.” Even with her busy schedule helping others and strict personality, she has a softer side, like her love for flowers and her close relationship with her mother. She always seeks to become an ideal figure, just like her mother who was a legendary champion. Almost everything she does is with perfection in mind, including her studies, racing, and training.

Air Messiah is a quiet and hardworking girl from Umamusume: Pretty Derby, famous for her light green hair, colorful hairpins, and orange-rimmed glasses. As a dependable student who lives with Vivlos, Air Messiah tries her best to go beyond her limits but often finds small achievements rather than huge victories. Driven by her mother’s near victories in the Triple Tiara, she aims to succeed on the same challenging path. Air Messiah is calm, practical, and determined to prove the greatness of what she inherited and the beauty of the future she is trying to build.
