Project Overview
About
Twisted Wonderland is an “adventure/rhythm” JRPG created by Disney Japan and Aniplex. While the main story is fully voiced, the events are not. This is what we’ll be fandubbing.
The main story follows Yuu, an isekai’d teenager who has wound up in a world where the Disney villains were not just real historical figures, but beloved by the people of this strange new world. Stranded with no way home, Dire Crowley, the headmage of the prestigious Night Raven College, takes Yuu under his wing. Yuu attends classes at Night Raven Classes and befriends several other students while simultaneously being more or less forced by Crowley to solve all the rampant problems on campus.
The event stories center around major holidays and the crazy going-ons around campus.
About Our Group
Mirror Planes is a LGBTQ-friendly dub group whose sole project will be fandubbing Twisted Wonderland’s events. We will not be delving into the main story or birthdays, since those are voiced.
We communicate through Discord, so having one is mandatory.
Please understand that although the game was released in Japan in 2020, it was just localized in January 2022. While we have a backlog of events to dub, please be aware that we are more or less dependent on EN’s releases and we may have some periods in the future where we’re waiting for new events. If it comes to that, there are other unvoiced stories in the game we can dub, but I’m counting those as emergency measures and not a main focus of the project.
Important Project Info
- Audtionees do NOT have to sound like the original Japanese voice actors. I love hearing different vocal interpretations of characters. Although all of the open roles are of male characters, all genders are welcome to audition for these roles.
- We ask that you give priority of characters of color to voice actors of color.
- Due to the sheer size of the cast needed for some events, if you are cast, you will not be voicing just that character, but 1 or 2 mob character(s) as well. There’s almost as many extras in events as there are main roles, so this will help keep cast numbers down as well as give more work to VAs who otherwise might not have a lot of lines in an event.
- If you feel comfortable doing so, please comment your Discord user tag so if cast, I can add you to our group Discord. If you don't feel comfortable with it, if cast I'll just message you and ask for it.

The serious, quick-to-anger housewarden of Heartslabyul, the dormitory based off of the Queen of Hearts/Alice in Wonderland. He is strict in enforcing rules and definitely not someone to make an enemy of. But he’s a reliable sophomore who has the best intentions for his dormmates, even if he can go overboard sometimes.

Queen of Hearts’ Rule 529 – “If you eat steak on the night of a full moon, a cat must play the violin afterwards.” Phew… Good thing we had a cat beastman in our dorm. We very nearly committed an infraction there.
As long as I am a housewarden, I will not allow any of my students to fail.
Although he’s Team Dad and the main cook for his dormitory, Trey can be just as manipulative as the other students. Thank goodness he’s generally a good person most of the time. If you ever need a hand, whether it be for grades, or cakes, he’s the man to ask. As Riddle's right-hand man, he more or less lets Riddle do whatever he wants and only tries to clean up the mess once Riddle is looking the other way. He prefers to stay in the shadows and not draw any attention to himself.

If you want to adapt to school life, it’s important to cultivate a spirit of cooperation. Trust me – speaking from a vice-housewarden, I know a thing or two.

A small influencer who has trouble making friendships and tries to act happy all the time in order to keep a facade up. He likes to push hard work onto other people, although he likes to appear as the reliable upperclassman. Unfortunately, due to everyone else being like That, he really IS the reliable upperclassman. He may make you do his work, but he’s still nice and cares about his fellow dormmates. As a side note, he LOVES internet lingo and is genuinely one of the funniest characters in the localized version of the game.

A mischievous, slightly obnoxious freshman who has a bit of trouble expressing his feelings. While he’s very smart and picks up on things quickly when it comes to skills and academics, he can be rash and make poor life decisions. He’s very confident in himself and won’t hesitate to challenge others.

A delinquent who’s trying to mend his ways be an honor student to make his family proud. He’s not the sharpest tool in the shed, but he has good intentions and cares deeply for his friends. He's very earnest.
Voice: Med. He’s on the softer side, but has aggressive outbursts once in a while.
Hurry up. We'll lose our heads if we're late for the tea party.

The second born prince of the Sunset Savana. Although he’s intelligent, clever, and a strong leader, Leona gets a bad rap from other students and his subjects back home. Perpetually in the shadow of his older brother and those around him ignoring his accomplishments, Leona doesn’t often exert much effort into things nowadays and has been branded as “lazy” for doing so. He has a pessimistic outlook on life because of how he’s been treated. He can be a blunt sometimes and a little cocky.

Honestly, most of your life's decided for you from the moment you're born. There's no point in working hard.
Just remember that we’re not kids getting all excited for a field trip. This is a competition. You should get to bed soon.

Leona's "assistant." Ruggie does loads of errands for Leona and staff on campus. He comes from a very poor neighbor, being raised by his grandmother after his mother died in childbirth and his father abandoned him. Ruggie is quick on his feet and quick-witted. He can be a little smug sometimes, but generally he's pretty laid back (when he isn't being worked too hard by Leona, that is).

[Sighs] This is way more trouble than it's worth.
A hard worker with a strong sense of justice. He refuses to compromise when it comes to his morals and is generally considered a "goody two-shoes" by the others. He prefers to be by himself. He can be a little blunt, but he means well and won't hesitate to call someone out if they do something he finds reprehensible. Occasionally, he strays into tsundere territory.

As a Savanaclaw student, I’d never embarrass my dorm in a physical contest with no magic. Just you watch!
The housewarden of Octavinelle, the dorm based on Ursula/The Little Mermaid. Azul runs the on-campus cafe, the Mostro Lounge. He's incredibly intelligent and self-serving. He has the ability to steal others' magic for himself and has been known to make "contracts" with fellow students, he not only takes their magic as collateral, but forces them to work in the Mostro Lounge. He's well-spoken and sees very friendly at first, and he can be nice when he wants to be, but he's smart and it's best to be on guard around him.

At first glance, Jade seems like a very polite, eloquent gentleman. And it's true -- Jade has perfected appearing as non-threatening as possible. He's intelligent, scheming, and knows how to hide his true intentions. While he has a soft spot for one or two people in his life, Jade has no problems using others and his connections to his advantage. He is "politely unhinged," as the fandom would put it, as he WILL resort to violence to get his way (although he prefers not having to go down such routes).

Jade's twin brother and the more obviously unhinged out of the two. Floyd's first resort is violence. He marches to the beat of his own drum and hardly listens to others. He acts on his mood and that can change at the drop of a hat. He's a strange guy. He has a lazy, nonchalant way of speaking most of the time, and he's downright terrifying when angry or craving violence.

That stupid junior I ran into on the way here, though… “Wah-wah-wah, you should be helping your upperclassman out. I’m super lame and whiny.” Why should I carry a bunch of wimps through the game for free?
An actual ray of sunshine. Kalim is super friendly and nice. He does his best to include everyone and make sure everyone is having fun at school. He can be a little bit of a ditz, which is a huge detriment considering he's in charge of one of the dorms. He also won't take no for an answer and can change his mind about things in an instant. Still, he's one of the nicest students at NRC and genuinely wants everyone to be happy.

Kalim's "best friend." Jamil's family has served Kalim's family for years and while Kalim considers Jamil like a brother, the feeling is not mutual. Jamil is one of if not the smartest character in the cast and the most talented. He wants to be in the spotlight and recognized for his skills. Jamil can be blunt if provoked, but is generally outwardly polite. He is also very protective and dotes on his younger sister, Najma. It takes him a while to trust others and thus while on good terms with most people, he doesn't have many real friends.

A child actor, model, and influencer. Vil is androgynous and doesn’t believe things should be gendered. He’s a strict housewarden who is in a constant state of bettering himself, aiming for perfection. Vil also puts those ideals onto others, pushing them (forcibly, sometimes) to act and behave in certain ways to better themselves. He’s a perfectionist and gives everything his all.

You’re in for a rude awakening if you think for a moment I’ll be an easy mark. Don’t come crying to me later if you try to hunt a chicken, only to find yourself cornered by a fox.

A strange junior who is very genial but also terrifying and kind of a stalker. Rook describes himself as "le chasseur d'amour," and in an eternal pursuit of beauty. He finds beauty and worth in everything around him and is genuinely a very sweet guy. However, he's also a hunter and knows far too much about his fellow students than he probably should. At times, he can also come off as creepy. He's encouraging to his underclassman and wants them to be safe and happy. He's the Team Dad to Vil's Team Mom.
Please note: Rook speaks a LOT of French. You don’t have to be 100% fluent, but we would like a VA who has experience speaking some French and is comfortable with the language.

A freshman who grew up in an isolated mountain village. He has a hard to time socializing with people his age since he was the only kid in his village for a long time. He hates how feminine he looks and overdoes masculinity in order to be seen as a tough guy. Epel regularly gets mistaken for a girl.
Epel naturally has accent that’s been localized as a southern accent, although Vil forces him to not use it. Please be able to do a southern accent.

An otaku who stays in his room and rarely ventures outside. He's timid and hates speaking to others, mostly using his tablet to communicate with others and attend classes/meetings. He gets more talkative/open when it comes to the things he likes, but for the most part, he's a stuttering, shy mess.

Picture it: a sweaty sportfest where guys run around nonstop while I tamper with the difficulty and watch from a comfy seat on the sidelines. Is that or is that not OMEGA-HYPE?
Idia’s “little brother,” but he’s actually a humanoid robot with a very impressive AI. He wants the best for Idia and is not above threatening to hurt people in order to get his way. He’s technically 16, but still very much acts and appears like a child. Although he’s very capable of questionable actions, he’s still a very nice, friendly, and chipper guy.

The fae housewarden of Diasomnia, the dorm based off of Maleficent/Sleeping Beauty. He appears intimidating, but really, he's a big softie. Most of the time. A lonely prince with few friends, he mostly hangs out with his guardian, Lilia, and his retainers, Sebek and Silver. He's kind and repays favors done to him, but he can be kind of arrogant and off-putting. He also has a very quick, severe temper. Malleus is very regal and has a princely aura around him, but he is definitely someone you don't want to make an enemy of. On the flipside, if you do befriend him, he can be incredibly clingy.

Malleus' caretaker, Sebek's mentor, and the adoptive father of Silver. He's a "fairy," though what kind is unknown. Despite his appearance, it's implied he's thousands and thousands of years old. He's a strict teacher, but he is very protective of those under him. He likes pulling pranks and messing with people; he's still very playful for a man his age. Lilia is fairly relaxed and friendly. He's also far more technologically knowledgeable than others in his dorm; he always keeps up with current trends. He's not a regular dad, he's a COOL dad.

A quiet, serious, and somewhat naive retainer of Prince Malleus. He's implied to be cursed with some sort of sleeping curse, and he has to fight to stay awake most of the time. Silver is not the smartest boy, as he fails to realize obvious things and tends to take people literally. He's also the cause of several of his classmates' headaches because of how much he spaces out and Does Not Get The Point Of Things.

A retainer of Lord Malleus. Sebek is very, very loud and very passionate about his job. He takes offense at the smallest things and generally sees humans are being inferior to fae (despite the fact he's only half-fae on his mother's side). Sebek can be a little naive, believing anything Lilia tells him wholeheartedly. He is also a very dramatic person and really feels his feelings.

An incredibly arrogant "cat" who loves food more than anything else in the world. Thanks to the headmage's deal, he attend Night Raven College as half of "one student" together with Yuu, taking care of magic casting parts of class Yuu can obviously not achieve. Grim thinks he's better than everyone else and is quick to whine about things not going his way. He has a huge ego and you ARE going to hear about it. He does care about Yuu and his friends, but he would rather die than be upfront about caring.

The "kind" headmage of Night Raven College. Although he appears affable and friendly, he's snarky and has been known to refer to his students as "idiots." Although he took Yuu and Grim under his wing, this really just means when he needs something done, he threatens to kick them out onto the street or not feed them unless they do what he says. But even while threatening them, he tries to couch it under an affable affect. He thinks far too much of himself and is very lazy.

Crowley, as of now, has only been in 2 localized events and while he's in 2/3 more, those ones haven't been localized yet.

Yuu, Ace, Deuce, and Grim's homeroom teacher. While strict, he cares deeply for his students and is protective of them. He loves fashion and was once involved in the industry before becoming the potions professor at Night Raven College.

I couldn’t agree more! What’s the point in a physically focused event that leaves you too injured to exercise? Besides, we’ve got a school full of troublemakers, so you’ve gotta account for that sorta thing.

Since Night Raven College has historically been an all-boys' school, there aren't many girls in events. There are some, such as Ghost Marriage and Scary Monsters ~Screaming Halloween Show~ that do have women in them. I will be casting a minimum of 3 extras, but depending on auditions, that number could rise. The lines provided are all from separate characters, so I would ask for you to do a different voice (or at least something to differentiate them) for each one. Notable female roles so far are:
- The Fairy Queen: the queen of the tiny Craft Fairies.
- Princess Eliza: the ghost of a princess who was murdered before she could find true love. She comes to Night Raven College once a year to try and find herself a husband. Note: This event is next in line to get localized.
- Najma Viper: Jamil's little sister, about middle-schooled age. Note: This event has not been localized yet.
- Marja Felmier: Epel's grandmother. She's kind but when she gets mad, SHE GETS MAD. Note: This event has not been localized yet.
- Snobby Influencers: I feel like this is kind of self-explanatory. Note: This event has not been localized yet.
[Regal, princess-esque voice] REJECTED! Every prince has a pet dog! How can you call yourself royalty when you don't even have a loyal canine companion?!
