Genre - Psychological / Thriller / Paranormal / Suspense / Mystery / Drama
Hey there!
I am looking to re-cast one of the main characters in my horror machinima series "Trepidation". As of right now, the first two episodes have been released on my channel, so feel free to watch those in order to get a feel of the project prior to auditioning.
I highly encourage you to read ahead for more information on the series itself ~
There will be 9 episodes in total with potential for a second season - although nothing has been planned that far ahead.
This is an UNPAID project - I merely do this as a hobby and as a way of expressing my creativity through stories, so please understand that before submitting your audition(s).
I would say the content of the series falls into the realm of PG-13 - with occasional strong language, minor sexual themes, triggering themes such as death and mental illness, and consistent violence and gore. Please be aware that the content within this series is not for the faint of heart, and will be exploring dark territories.
While the broad genre is horror, this series more so depicts psychological, suspenseful themes. Content will delve deep into personal disputes and dysfunctional relationships, with a heavy focus on mental decline/illness. Regardless, this project is strictly for entertainment purposes, and is not meant to be taken too seriously.
Synopsis
Many decades ago, an otherwise prosperous neighborhood for the wealthy became plagued with death and sin. Residents of the prominent party-mansion, formerly known as Redwood Manor, were suddenly gone, the only evidence that they ever existed lying solely in the form of a solitary, once-thriving mansion.
For years subsequent to the mysterious date, the house remains. Solitary. Untouched. Rumored to plague any trespasser with the curse of death and torment. Haunted by the spirits of souls who were now forgotten.
That is, until the rotten floorboards are touched once more, resurfacing the case that had been shut down sixty years prior. Within an instant, six oblivious college-aged kids are thrusted into unprecedented circumstances upon re-activating a decades-old curse.
Separated within the confines of different versions of the Manor, in which time, itself, is a mere construct. Against all reason, young lives are put to the test in a paranormal game of hide-and-seek, forced to escape the torment of unrest souls and to ultimately solve the murders that were once deemed closed.
It is unclear why any innocent soul should be thrown into such a devastating chain of events. Though . . . is anyone ever truly innocent?
Rules / Casting Information
First and foremost, the most important thing I want to stress on is commitment, dedication. In some cases it is impossible to stay committed if life gets in the way, which is totally understandable, but it is important to understand that this is a long-term project.
Please use a clear mic, if you are able. I will more likely cast those with auditions containing little to no background noise or static, so please keep that in mind.
Emotion and characterization. This is very important, since this series will involve strong emotional elements with most characters - including screaming, crying, laughing, etc.
Please record at least two takes of each line, but I encourage three or more. Feel free to experiment with different variations or pitches in each take. Improvisation is encouraged if you feel a line will flow better from it!
In order to be cast, it is highly encouraged that you have a Discord account. I already have a Discord server with the rest of the cast, which serves as the main source of information regarding the series, and I will be sending an invite once you've been cast.

As of right now, I do not have an official deadline, as I want to have this character re-cast as soon as possible. However, this casting call will likely be open for at least a month before I make any final decisions.

FIRST APPEARANCE: Episode 1
DESCRIPTION: Danielle is certainly an oddball. She is extremely optimistic through the darkest of times and acknowledges her privilege over those who don’t have a roof over their head. She constantly is in a dreamy, thoughtful state, thinking and daydreaming of bigger and better things. Despite this, optimism can sometimes cloud her judgement and become something of idealistic. She likes to think there is more good than evil in the world, which causes her to be open to change, but can also be dangerous. Some people view her idealism and dreamlike state as weird and abnormal, which is one of the reasons she is such good friends with Eden.

ADDITIONAL NOTES:
-Voicing Danielle will not require any particular personality/emotion changes, as she will immediately accept the situation as reality. She will, however, be expressing emotions such as crying/sobbing, so be aware of that.

VOICE RANGE/TYPE: High. She is a teenager, but her voice should sound very light and childlike. She is also a spirit, so she should have a very soft, ghostly voice.

FIRST APPEARANCE: Episode 5
DESCRIPTION: Maria is a confused, lost spirit who has been trapped within the Manor for decades. Her death was quite prominent in the sixties and was ultimately deemed solved with looming mystery--while her killer was never completely clear, evidence pointed at Eugene Badger–the original owner of Redwood Manor.
ADDITIONAL NOTES: Maria has few lines overall, but she remains pivotal to the plot and will remain a prominent figure throughout the series’ entirety.
