Earlier this year Studio Lupiesoft began a casting call for our successful Steam visual novel, The Reject Demon: Toko ch0.
Unfortunately due to real life circumstances, our main actress had to leave the project. We are looking to begin a second casting call to hire an actress to voice Toko and Epiphany. While we prefer to have one actress doing both roles, we are open to splitting these roles between two actresses for the right voices.
We are paying a flat amount of $2 per line, and Toko's role comes to nearly 400 lines. Because of the size of the role and the professional rate we're paying, we're going to very particular regarding both the quality and performance of our auditions, as this is the main character, it is important to find a voice that matches perfectly to the role.
Payment will be handled on a 50% down, 50% after basis. Prior to recording you will be asked to sign a contract regarding the role as well as an NDA to protect future stories of the title, character history and more. Our main goal is also to secure stable actresses who will be able to reprise their roles in future games based on the success of our upcoming Toko Voice Acting patch.
The Reject Demon: Toko is an all ages game that features mature themes, the principal role is that of Toko, a failed succubus being kicked out of hell. The type of performances we are looking for are closer to a natural speaking voice, a natural perfomance and not a cute anime sort of voice.
It's be a long couple of months and we've had to delay our selection and we had to deliberate this.
We've chosen Kainico to voice both Toko&Ephinany.

Sorry for the delays y'all! We at Lupiesoft just came off a long development cycle on our latest game. I can understand that the silence has lead some to wonder if they weren't selected. I wanted it to be clear that when we selected our VAs we would announce it publicly.
I'm here to say that we've brought it down to a couple finalists and we'll be contacting a few people over this week, giving some direction asking for a couple more lines to get the best voice for the role.
We will begin recording December 1st. Upon selection you'll be asked to sign a contract and NDA for the job, and you'll be paid the 50% upfront to begin the work when recording begins on December 1st.
For those worried about not being selected, our chief criteria has been overall audio quality and if your voice fits the character, in ever case where it's possible we've also listened to your reels to gain a better idea of your vocal range, so some VAs who were close will be asked to tweak their performance. Also if you're not selected, we might think your voice is good but not for the roles we have in mind. In the future if we run another casting call we encourage you to audition again!
I just want to let everyone know we're trying to get a demo out of our new game by the end of the month.
However, we've begun our review process and we're having all our members give a once over on every audition and provide feedback and any necessary direction that might be needed.
We should pick someone for each role early October, and after brief on the non-public aspects of the story, we'll begin recording. Thanks for all of your eagerness!
We're going over Toko auditions today. If you've not gotten a message do not fear you are eliminated. We want to evaluate all auditions and then we'll be able to properly tell who might need to tweak their performance.
We're also in the process of releasing a game as well, so we appreciate your patience!
Over the next couple days we're going to be going over all the audio. For a while there we were getting so many new auditions it was difficult to track.
So I'll be explaining my process for how we are going to handle this. Starting with evaluating current auditions and seeing where if any direction needs to be made. In this case do not be worried if you feel or want to know if your audition is off, direction is easy to fix and we're not necessarily looking at how you deliver the lines but your voice itself and how it feels as that character.
After the audition closes we'll be meeting with VAs to discuss direction and refining performance. This process should only take a week but by the end of that process we'll be selecting our VAs.

What are we looking for?
We're looking for an actress in this role who is able to capture Toko's character, both the bratty, brash aspects of her personality, as well as the softer vulnerable parts. Because of this there will be both calm, softer lines as well as louder angrier lines, the better you can match that range the better.
It isn't all or nothing, actresses who we feel did very well but need extra direction we'll arrange a skype meeting with the lead writer, and other voice actresses to help you hone the performance.
[Arguing loudly with Pellatrix] That's it? I'm just being dismissed? I don't even get a second chance?
[Irritated after seeing Davey in Nadia's apartment and no sign of Nadia] Davey?! Why are you here?! Where is Nadia?! What did Devon do with her? Tell me right now or I'll rip your ears from their seams! [Getting gravely annoyed to her big sister Devon] Rrggh, shut up already! Once I'm done tearing this idiot apart at the seams, I'll take his stuffing and ram it down your stupid throat!
[smallish pause] Gross... You know, if I had to choose between having a shitty family like you and getting stuck in a world like this, I'd rather live here! Go back to Hell and leave me and Nadia alone! [After being transformed and obtained her instrument] Dammit Devon, you never know when to quit. You were always pushing me too far. Always manipulating me and trying to make me do what you want. Not anymore!

What are we looking for?
As a succubus, Epiphany is an aspect of Toko's personality. You could think of Epiphany as a manifestation of Toko's sexuality. Her voice is more mature than Toko's and ideally we would like to see actresses audition for both roles, however. If your voice is much better suited for a younger role or a mature one, don't be afraid to audition seperately as that won't disqualify you.
[sealed off/tiny voice, in her blue bass form] Okay, can you hear me yet? Come on, sexybutt, wake up and pay attention to me. Helloooo! Toko! Notice me already! That's it, finally! It's about--
[keep the sealed/tiny voice] Man, what a loser. How'd I get saddled with someone pathetic as her? [longish pause in a scene where Toko are trying to save Nadia from the soul harvesting by her big sister Devon]... Hey, pipsqueak. Can you hear me yet? [now Toko can hear her completely] Helloooooooo! Pay attention to me! If you die, I die too, and I'd rather not have that happen! Ugh... finally. This is my penance for being stuck inside a whiny demon like you. I've been stuck here for years TRYING to get your attention. You act like you don't even want to save Nadia.
Seriously? My name is Epiphany. I've been inside you; I am you. That's my name, we should have met sooner but you were too much of a wuss. I don't see a reason to get worked up now, though. Want me to save Nadia? Oh, first. Don't act all pouty that you're the one that's supposed to save her and all that. You are me and I am you and there's no chance of getting away from each other now. ...I was hoping you'd say that. After this we're going to have to talk.
