A peak at one of the first drafts of the pilot episode's openning moments
Optimus Prime [Voice Only, Retrospectively]: [camera closing in on Cybertron] Cybertron. Home to a once-peaceful race. In this age, they stand united under the illusion of harmony, unaware of the storm lingering just beyond the horizon. Here, in the heart of prosperity, the cracks began to form, and truths began to rear their unsightliness, casting shadows upon this golden age.
[silent pan across Cybertron’s surface ending outside the Iacon Hall of Records]
Orion Pax [Awe-Struck]: You and the Primes not only fought and beat Unicron, but you even drove the Quintessons off-world?
Alpha Trion: Precisely, but it came at an immeasurable cost. [Transition from calm to melancholy] Not a day passes where I do not regret being unable to stand beside my brethren in the battle none of us realised would be their last.
Orion Pax [Concerned]: Trion… is everything alright?
Alpha Trion: I’ve lived a very long life, Pax. One filled with pain and suffering. For so long, all we knew was the battlefield. That was until Unicron was beaten and exiled. But I fret for the day that Unicron might exact his revenge.
Orion Pax: So Unicron could still be online? And… trying to find his way back?
Alpha Trion: I can not say for certain. Although, I have no doubt he will return. Primus and Unicron can never be truly terminated. They are forces of nature—Lords of Order and Chaos. The elimination of either one could mean the end of the universe.
Orion Pax [Thoughtful, quietly absorbing this]: …
Alpha Trion: Their conflict is as old as time itself. Nothing can outlive a force of nature. Not even the power of a Prime. [long pause] The loss of my fellow Primes is millennia past. [Trion shifts his gaze downward] I have gained much wisdom in the time since… [Trion looks back up at Orion] And so shall you, young sparkling. [Stands up slowly, placing a gentle hand on Orion’s shoulder] Thank you for listening.
