Total Drama Island Fandub

Total Drama Island Fandub

Project Overview

I'I've recently become OBSESSED with Total Drama Island and wanted to do something voice acting related with it. Originally I was gonna make a fan-series, then I wanted to do some dubbing alone, but I found an old casting call for World Tour to be dubbed and I decided, why not dub all of Island with others? So here we are!

Chris McLean is the primary host of Total Drama. He is an overwhelming narcissist, with little concern for the well-being of his contestants – and even sometimes best friend Chef Hatchet as well. Chris feeds off the pain of the teenagers, physical and emotional and strives to keep the drama in Total Drama alive at all times. He is a very selfish and arrogant man as he does not care about anyone or anything but money, higher ratings, and personal pleasure gained from the pain and suffering of others. Chris also enjoys messing with and preying upon the relationships of the contestants for his own personal gain as he loves it when contestants bicker, argue, and fight amongst each other. He appears to have gotten increasingly sadistic as the series has progressed, with the challenges turning from humiliating and occasionally dangerous, to being full-on life-threatening. While he continues to elaborate that it is for high-ratings, in later seasons it seems he is more concerned with causing pain than actually increasing the popularity with viewers.

Yo! We're coming at you live from Camp Wawanakwa, somewhere in Muskoka, Ontario. I'm your host, Chris McLean. Dropping season one of the hottest new reality show on television, right now! Here's the deal, 22 campers have signed up to spend eight weeks right here at this crummy old summer camp. They'll compete in challenges against each other. Then have to face the judgement of their fellow campers. Every three days, one team will either win a reward, or watch one of their team member's walk down the Dock of Shame. Take a ride on the loser boat and leave Total Drama Island, for good. Their fate will be decided here, at the dramatic campfire ceremonies where each week, all but one camper will receive a marshmallow. In the end, only one will be left standing and will be rewarded with cheesy tabloid fame and a small fortune, which let's face it, they'll probably blow in a week. To survive, they'll have to battle. Black flies. Grizzly bears.

  • Welcome back to Total Drama Island. All right, it's time to meet our first 11 campers. We told them they'd all be staying at a five star resort, so if they seem a little T.O. ed, that's probably why. Beth, what's up?

  • Yeah, your parole officer warned me about that, man. He also told me to give him a holler any time and have you returned to juvie.

Owen is a huggable, upbeat, fun-loving, friendly, passionate, and optimistic competitor, who is basically in Total Drama to have fun, not for the grand prize. Owen's three biggest loves are eating, having a good time and passing a large amount of gas. Among his peers, he is arguably the most popular contestant of all time for his cheerful ways, optimistic viewpoints no matter what the situation is, and ability to see the best in other people. He even accomplishes the impossible in making a friend of Chris. He always tries to help his team win challenges despite his physical and mental disadvantages. Usually enthusiastic at first, he often ends up failing, the majority in a variety of humorous ways. As a running gag in the series, Owen is frequently naked, farting, or sometimes both. He has mentioned on numerous occasions that his response to stress (among many other emotions) is eating.

  • Woo-hoo! Chris, what's happening? This is awesome! Woo-hoo!

  • Awesome to be here, man. Yeah! Man, this is just so...

  • Yes, awesome! Woo! Are you gonna be on my team?

Duncan is a crafty juvenile delinquent who comes from a long line of policemen and policewomen: his dad, mom, uncle, aunt, grandma and cousins are all cops. He knows many tactics from his time spent in juvenile detention centers. He can carve a picture of a skull into a tree trunk and lift great amounts of weight (such as Owen, who is more than three times his size). He has a brooding, obnoxious, sarcastic and flirtatious personality, flirting with Heather despite his apparent dislike of her and mocking Courtney whenever she gets near him. He also gives Courtney the pet name "Princess" to tease her. Duncan loves to break rules to better suit himself, but sometimes the consequences are worse than what he intended. Duncan also loves to make fun of the other contestants and pull several pranks on them, with Harold being his main victim (later intensifying it due to a certainmove Harold made in Total Drama Island). He considers himself as being "straight with people", rarely pretending to be what he isn't. As a result, he has been shown to either get along with or make fierce enemies with his fellow competitors, although it is more than often the latter.

  • I don't like surprises.

  • Okay, then. Meet you by the campfire, gorgeous.

  • [Scoffs] Nice board. This ain't Malibu, honey.

Leshawna can either be a powerful ally, or someone's worst enemy, depending on the person. She is loyal and sassy, yet also can be affectionate and caring. If shown respect, she will reciprocate it indefinitely. Leshawna tells it like it is, and has no fear whatsoever of calling people out on their mistakes. However, she is not one to be messed with, and will not hold back on someone who has wronged her. She will not hesitate to get physical if the matter calls for it, especially if her weight is the topic of discussion. She is not above revenge, be it on her own behalf or that of a friend. She is extremely street-smart, with her vocabulary covered in slang while calling her fellow contestants nicknames such as "Baby", "Honey", and "Sugar".

  • Yo, baby, hey, how you doing? How's it going? Feel free to quit now and save yourselves the trouble, 'cause I came to win. Oh, what's up my brother? Give me some sugar, baby!

  • Excuse me?

  • What did you say to me? Oh, no, you didn't. You have not seen anything yet. I'll show you big, baby. Oh, yeah, you want some of this? Well, come on, then!

Role assigned to: EmmieZ

Heather was Total Drama's first villain. Famously manipulative, Heather knows what she wants and exactly how to get it. Her strategic smarts have proven effective, eliminating a record amount of contestants. She competes with her sights solely on the prize money and not on making friends, using others at her advantage and only being kind when she may ultimately be benefited. This makes it difficult to differentiate her classic mean girl ways from genuine heartfelt moments.

  • Drop dead, you skeez. I'm calling my parents. You cannot make me stay here.

  • Ugh, my shoes!

  • Okay, we've all met surfer girl. Can we get on with the show, please?

Izzy, in Noah's own terms, is as "nutty as a ten-ton bag of pecans smothered in peanut butter, encased in a cashew the size of China". She is fun but hard to handle and to the other contestants, more trouble than she is worth. Izzy has extraordinary athletic and fighting abilities, and also sticks herself to the wild environment. She is also number eight on the RCMP's "Most Wanted" list, presumably for accidentally blowing up a kitchen, but it is unclear whether she was telling the truth. As a running gag in the series, she will leave in an unusual way after being eliminated, such as her departure in a puff of smoke in Wawanakwa Gone Wild!. In Total Drama Action, she frequently changes her persona to another that she has created for her own amusement. She has also been shown to enjoy plotting bizarre solutions to various situations. Despite her strange ways of showing it, Izzy does care about others (mainly Owen) and means well even if her results don't reflect it.

  • Hi, Chris. Hi! Hi! Ow!

  • That felt so... Good! Except for hitting my chin. This is summer camp? That is so cool! Do you have papier-mache here? Are we having lunch soon?

Bridgette is a calm, compassionate surfer girl who loves animals as much as she loves the water. She is a vegetarian, finding animals to be her friends, not food. In contrast to her aquatic aptitude, Bridgette is known for being clumsy on land, which often leads to severeresults. Many aspects of Bridgette's character are revealed in Brunch of Disgustingness, when she refuses to give up her principles, no matter what. When she joins the remaining Screaming Gophersfemales, she faces one of her biggest challenges in getting them to work as a team. She believes in "building bridges, not walls", even when competition is not a factor. Through Bridgette's spirit and determination, she always reaches her goal, whether it is getting her team to unite or anything else she sets her mind to.

Tyler is a sports fan who loves anything physical. Unfortunately, he is extremely uncoordinated, constantly putting himself and others at risk. Tyler can also be very dim at times, such as in Broadway, Baby! when Noah tells him to make a mental note of something, and Tyler says he doesn't have a pen. Despite his shortcomings, he is extremely determined, well-meaning, and even has abnormally strong fingers, which have aided him on several occasions.

Justin is a supermodel of incredible beauty. He is so handsome that he can make everyone around, whether they are male or female, human or animal, stop dead in their tracks at the mere sight of him. The second he is introduced as a contestant, Chris admits to everyone that the only reason Justin was selected to be on Total Drama was because of his looks, a fact which he is perfectly fine with knowing. Justin is extremely vain and often can be found looking at himself in his mirror. Throughout the first season, Justin speaks very little, and so not much is known about him at first. When he returns for season two, a new side of his personality is seen.

Geoff may not be the smartest contestant in the bunch, but he has a positive attitude, loves people, and is always up for any challengeChris has in store. He has a habit of addressing everyone as "dude" or "bro/brah," depending on the gender. He is extremely fun-loving, believing that life is short and if someone "doesn't stop and have a party every Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, Saturday, Sunday, they're going to regret it." Geoff's big heart doesn't exclude even the more reserved. However, given enough motivation, he won't hesitate to pay people back for their misdeeds. Geoff's caring way automatically clicks with Bridgette's, and upon the formation of their relationship, the two are inseparable ever since.

Katie is most notable for being Sadie's best friend. They do everything together, even wear the same outfits which Katie sews herself. Like Sadie, Katie is a sensitive, cheerful, and kind-hearted girl. She's boy-crazy and when she has grown attracted to someone, she (and Sadie) will fawn over him endlessly. Katie can be considered as the more passionate one between her and her best friend. Her biography states that she "thinks with her heart", in contrast to Sadie who "thinks with her head". This may imply that Sadie could be more logical, whereas Katie has stronger relationships than Sadie. She is shown to have a bad sense of direction, a flaw which produces tragic results. Sadie's label of "The Sweet Girl's Friend" may imply that Katie is more independent and capable of making decisions on her own. However, given her thinking habits, they don't always turn out to be wise.

Sadie is most notable for being Katie's best friend. They do everything together, including wearing the same outfits (which Katie sews herself). Like Katie, Sadie is a sensitive, cheerful, and sweet-natured girl. Sadie shows herself to be rather emotional, even more so than her best friend. She cries whenever she is upset, and lashes out at those who cause her anger. She is boy-crazy and when she grows attracted to someone, she and Katie will fawn over him endlessly. Sadie can be considered the more logical one between the two. Her biography even states that she "thinks with her head", contrasting to Katie who "thinks with her heart". Sadie was even the one who came up with the idea of their summer job, which involves making their own ice cream and selling it at the pier where they live. It is implied that Sadie is the more logical of the pair, but her silence during her time without Katie may imply that Sadie is the less independent of the two

Cody is a tech-savvy geek, who sees himself as a ladies' man instead of a nerd. He joined the show primarily to be with the "cool" kids: his own kind, or so he thinks. His self-named "manly charms" and "smooth moves" are famously not so smooth, failing him around the other contestants such as Trent. Cody's usual tactic of getting women involves him using pick-up lines that sound irresistible to him, but irritating to everyone else. Most of the girls he flirts with usually end up annoyed or amused. Cody likes to think that he is the "cool guy," but his biographies suggest that he is very intelligent.

A skinny, awkward-looking guy, Harold takes immense pride in his numerous "mad skills." Although he isn't much to look at and is often disrespected by many of the other contestants, including his own teammates, Harold is actually an incredibly resourceful young man of many talents and has won several challenges, both for himself and his various teams. Harold's geeky interests, his somewhat poor personal hygiene, and his know-it-all personality often make him an outcast among his fellow contestants and a perfect target for bully Duncan. Although Duncan hates Harold for his uncool ways and Harold hates Duncan for his bad attitude, it appears the two have begrudging respect for one another at the same time. A telling confessional Harold makes in One Million Bucks, B.C. points out that both are willing to put their differences aside when forced to work together.

Courtney

Courtney has a polarizing personality, but at her core, she thinks of herself as a born leader, which often leads to her not letting others have a chance to take control. Although she is extremely bossy, competitive, critical and even manipulative at times, she can be genuinely civil and polite to her fellow competitors. Such an example is in Jamaica Me Sweat, when Courtney is the only one to acknowledge the injured Izzy and Owen. As an overachiever, she has a tendency to overreact when things go wrong, and drives herself crazy in order to get what she wants. She has become notorious among the contestants for constantly reminding them of her counselor-in-training experience, resulting in their constant annoyance.

  • OK, whoever took it better give it up now before she destroys the whole camp.

Role assigned to: Lindus

Noah comes off as being sarcastic, cynical, pessmisstic, and lazy to most though he is far from being unethical. He is extremely intelligent, but finds physical activity as laughable as the ridiculous antics of some of his peers. His attitude has a tendency to repel friendships although he finds his best ally in Owen. He seems to be closed off, not willing to disclose much about himself as he didn't give proper answers in his profile. Despite his weak body structure, Noah doesn't seem to be afraid to insult people such as Courtney, Duncan, Eva, and Heather, even though they are clearly physically superior.

Although Eva is very competitive and physically strong, she is often overly aggressive. She is also deranged and is known to have a short temper and violent ways of exhibiting her anger. Part of the reason she auditioned for Total Drama was to curb it, and she mildly has. She enrolled in anger management classes after her first elimination and has since shown that she is capable of making friends, albeit not very many. Eva is also very willing to admit when she has taken her anger too far and will admit when she is in the wrong. In general, she is not very emotional, and is almost never seen displaying feelings other than anger and indifference.

Ezekiel is a naïve country boy who was homeschooled at his farm. His lack of interaction with other kids has left him with incredibly poor social skills and a tendency to say and do things that rub people the wrong way, even if his intentions may be good. Ezekiel also has some rather warped viewpoints on life, mostly due to his parents. He initially believes that women are inferior to men and also seems to value money over his relationships. However, it appears that Ezekiel is simply repeating what his parents told him and that these are not his own ideas. Later in the series, he is seen interacting with several of the show's female contestants with no apparent animosity. Ezekiel has the distinction of being the first contestant ever voted off in the show's history. He is also Pancake's favorite Total Drama character.

Chef Hatchet is the aggressive sidekick of Total Drama host Chris. He provides the meals for the contestants, disgusting slop which has been slammed by all but a few competitors, but even they have complained about it at one point or another. However, some episodeshave suggested that Chef actually does have exceptional kitchen skills. He will take over as primary host on rare occasions in which Chris is absent (or he tells him to). Given that both are equally unconcerned about the teenagers' well-being, it is hardly a far cry from the normal routine. Chef is bigger, louder, and much more confrontational and intimidating than his counterpart, who prefers a different outlet of striking fear into the contestants
