Project Overview
Do you like Ace Attorney? Do you like Elite Beat Agents? Do you believe you have a good singing voice? If you answered yes to any of these questions, this may be the audition for you. Welcome to Gennfiction Audio Theatre's audiobook of Pyrasaur's To Each A Tempo. The role of Detective Dick Gumshoe has already been cast, but all other roles are still available. Good audio quality is recommended, if not required, and all actors planning on auditioning for any EBA characters (excluding Commander Khan) must be prepared to sing. Those cast in the roles of Phoenix, the Judge, and Edgeworth will also be cast for the same roles in Gennfiction Audio Theatre's production of Modmad's Dual Destinies: Dual Destinations (https://www.castingcall.club/projects/dual-destinies-dual-destination).

"Ace Attorney" and main character of the first three games, Phoenix has wanted to be a defense lawyer since he was a kid, and first appears as the new addition to Mia Fey's law practice.
Personality: Phoenix is generally easy-going, which usually leads to his friends leading him around. He's dedicated to defending his innocent clients, but because he's just starting out he depends a lot on his boss and mentor, Mia Fey. Phoenix is also a loyal friend who won't back down once he's set his mind on something. He has a bit of a sarcastic side that he usually keeps to himself.

Bobby Fulbright - the 'addlepated detective'... Nobody would have questioned it if he had made this number of mistakes, but you? "The Phantom"? A spy who has run rings around the police for more than seven years? It reeks of self-sabotage!
Heir to a prominent family of spiritualists, Maya is Phoenix's obligatory perky sidekick during all three of his games and To Each A Tempo.
Personality: Maya is optimistic, excitable, friendly, curious, and a fangirl for all things Steel Samurai. Like her sister she is tenacious to a fault, and very attached to "Nick" (her and her sister's name for Phoenix). Not always the brightest but loyal and outgoing.
You don't believe in Agents?! They stand for everything good in the world, Nick! They're defenders of the innocent! Helpers of the underdogs! Shining beacons of truth and justice!
Not much at the crime scene ... I wonder if Detective Gumshoe knows anything else, something he's not telling us. Or maybe it really is too early for the police to find anything, and we can grab a few clues?

The Narrator has by far the most lines of the cast, so use a voice that doesn't cause undue stress to you, while still conveying the effective emotions, like your natural speaking voice.

This team does good work, I have the utmost faith in every member and I wouldn't compromise this Agency for anything. Maybe someday ... the world will understand. Barley Dempster is Chef LaFlamme's timid assistant, But despite his aparrent frailty, he cares immensely for Cherry's well-being.

--the inspiration for these acts could be from any number of sources. And while these Agents wear suits, the uniform of the people, just what end are they working toward?

I'm sure there's some motive to their madness. But all I truly I know about Agents is that they descend without warning, and they ... have a power over the human mind. When I worked for Nexus Broadcasting, I had everything, I had a career and a future -- until one moment of weakness, one report I lacked the sources for. They knew somehow. They must have planned which vital term report to sabotage, because before I knew it, I held my desk's contents in a cardboard box! The ten-year pen and a handshake one day, a pink slip the next! How many others have you ruined, Agent? You must forgive me for asking, your patterns are quite difficult to track.
Missy serves as the heart of the Elite Beat Divas unit, and has a personality and outlook similar to Maya's.

Personality: The Judge, though well meaning, is naive and very gullible. Not the brightest bulb.

The young "genius" prosecutor of the DA's office, and Phoenix's main rival in PW:AA.
Personality: Miles Edgeworth began his career as a prosecutor at the young age of 20, and in the four years since has maintained a perfect record of guilty verdicts. Seen as a snob, his condescending nature and relentless prosecution (along with rumors of evidence and witness tampering) have earned him the name "Demon Prosecutor." He despises criminal behavior, and will do anything to get lawbreakers behind bars. And look stylish doing it.

The prosecution will prove that Mr. Stewart Lowe is the only reasonable suspect in the murder of Ms. Morna Beasley. He was apprehended fleeing the scene of the murder, mere moments after its occurence, and this places considerable suspicion upon him.
You changed your story today. You grasp at straws, Wright, you stall and bluff and pull all manner of absurd stunts, but you never. Change. Your story.
You know, it's a curious thing... When I was in Europe, I saw a play; Orestes. It featured both Athena and Apollo. It is based on the trial of a man who killed his mother, in return for killing his father, et cetera. An unbroken chain of 'just' deaths that had continued, spanning back over many years. It fell to the goddess Athena to decide if he should also die in turn, or be spared.
Larry has been Phoenix's friend since grade school, and despite his problems with women (and slacking off) he's a good friend who sticks by Phoenix.
Personality: Larry is generally easy going and laid back, but shows his emotions easily. He's very trusting and a little flaky, which leads to him moving between women and part time jobs fairly regularly.

Head of her own criminal defense law firm, Mia Fey is Phoenix's boss and mentor.
Personality: Always cool under pressure, Mia Fey is smart, tenacious, a strict teacher and sometimes even coy. She has a great affection for her sister but is also very independent, and strives to uncover truth at all costs.
Look, Phoenix, you have an entire network of highly skilled operatives at your back, from what Maya says. And I'll be there tomorrow, too. You'll do fine. Leave the coffee alone and get some sleep.

Pearl is Maya's young cousin, and a powerful medium in her family.
Personality: Pearl is shy around strangers, but once she's warmed up to someone she's friendly, polite, and very clever. Possibly due to her mother's strict upbringing she is far more mature than most children her age, and participates in many of Phoenix's investigations. She's very talented when it comes to channeling spirits.

Chef Cherry LaFlamme runs The Orchard, a restaurant near Foster Park. Almost perennially irritated to some level, Cherry's speech is peppered with culinary-themed non-swears.
